paper rex played like paper rex selling free rounds but they didn't "get lucky with amazing timings", they are genuinely that fucking locked. if you go through their vods you can see their minds are running at a million miles per minute, and their decision making (good or bad) is so fast that no team is every truly ready for it. for jinggg's 3k on split, you can go back and see the thought process for every move he makes, and he does it so quickly that NRG aren't ready. it's the same reason f0rsaken actually pulled off the ace, after every kill he knew what he wanted to do next.

i think the only pistol buy that compares to double sheriff is five man ghost, and for a round as important as pistol, so many teams are not dedicating effort to maximizing their winrate on pistol round

very valid take, but i believe that there is a comparison to be made between shortening a player's ign, and referring to a real sports player as simply their last name. there is also a bit of a barrier that i believe is consistent between casters(or maybe just emea casters), they attempt to repronounce names that could have three syllables two make them have two, and when all else fails, they just shorten it, like alfajer or chronicle. it gives the feeling that when they are trying to rush out their thoughts in the fast paced moments of the game, it's a bit of a habit however it was formed. of course that's not to say of moments that happens during downtime, but pacing in a game as fast paced as valorant where ten players can die in a five-second team fight demands that you take any opportunuity in those moments to get your thoughts our before it becomes irrelevant
