rank reset makes me want to quit the game

idk if anyone else feels this way but the rank reset is so unmotivating

I grinded up to plat and felt super good about it, then this reset happens and now I'm stuck in gold playing against plats and diamonds that are ranked silver

I don't want to grind back up to my old rank when all I'm going against are the same people I was at plat. It just feels so unmotivating to have close games and barely break even k/d at gold 1, when I've completely destroyed people in the past

I know that everyone got the rank taken back the same, and that it will probably eventually be better, but it's just so depressing to lose in gold 1 rr

youll get back to plat in a couple weeks if u actually deserve it

Well if he already was plat last act then he already deserves it but ranks are a huge motivating factor why people play. If you were plat last act and you get placed gold 1. That can be super demotivating to be wanting to play. Especially with all the Ares stuff going on. I don’t necessarily blame him for being frustrated.

The rank reset makes it so people cant just get to higher ranks buy nonstop grinding the game, if you deserve a higher rank then you were placed you will get it

yea i was like one game away from diamond last act and now i placed g3 but its whatever ur gonna get back up there at some point, plus ur rank isnt resetting for another 3 acts

Bro, you're still going against the exact same people you were going against last act. All it is, is that you dont have that blue icon next to your name. Just play through it. It evens out.
I placed dia1, I gain 20-30rr, and lose 10. Sooner or later you rise up.

If you're barely breaking even k/d at gold 1, then you were barely breaking even at plat. The enemies didn't change, just the rank icon. You'll be against your old elo enemies for the next couple weeks, so just chill, play, have fun. If you want to wait, wait a few weeks and you can just pubstomp people until you're back in p3.

if I'm going against the same people I was last act, and I was at the top of my skill level mid-plat last act, what would make me rank up? I have the same winrate bc i'm going against the same players I was last act

You're gonna be winning a lot per win while losing little per loss as your rank is quite a bit lower than your MMR, so even with a 50% win rate you should be winning RR

hit immo last act, got p2, double ranked up to diamond. youll gain like 20+ rr per win and you play against the same people its just a different rank

Like that's the thing. We gain 20+ rr for a win, and lose like 12 for a loss.

Then your MMR from last act is evening out.

The way their system works, although not perfect.

If you're in your rank, you gain and lose equal amounts. If you're in an elo that you dont perform great in, you gain less and lose more. If you're in an elo where you're clearly not meant to be in, you gain large boost.

This is where i'm currently at. I was imm2 last act, placed d1, and have been getting 20-35rr per win, and 12 on a loss.

you might be running into the broken part of their forumula, which sucks. I had it the previous act, and it was horrible. Was d3, placed plat1, and was getting 20rr, and losing 17.

I agree its kind of weird to have to grind back up to the rank you had before the reset. You now have to grind from gold to plat, when u couldve been grinding from plat to diamond.

eitherway u play the same people as before the reset, so if ur skill is now improving u will hit a higher rank than u had before, just gotta be patient for it to show in game

Ye but like I'm plat 1 and I got sent back to silver3 but I lose 8rr and gain 20+ so I ain't complaining honestly

I was gold 1 last act and placed s1 but it’s hard to climb because I keep playing against high plats and diamonds even though I get +20 for win and -10 for loss

my mmr was so messed up last act, i was queuing with irons even thou i peaked in silver two, now i'm back silver 1 from bronze 2 with a healthy and reasonable mmr. just saying, you can take long breaks just like what pros do if they feel if something's not right

if its bothering you much just wait a week till all plats are out of silver/gold and then you can stomp golds and get back to plat
