Bonkar truth

is he really the goat for taking:

Brawktagon

  • goated in tier2, not really a rookie player cuz the guys been around for forever.

s0m

  • was always good on NRG, already proven to be able to compete at the world class level

Skuba

  • i'm sorry but this guy is the goat. what he was doing on PKS back in the day was gross. the guy has always been amazing and I always wanted 100t to pick him up(they got bang and zander, all they needed was a 3rd viper goat smh). i had zero doubts about him doing well in t1

Mada

  • again, another t2 farmer that has been around the na scene for YEARS. i remember this guy from LG and the guy was FRAGGING. i didn't really watch him that much, but he instantly proved himself even on the original nrg roster with fns and verno

and Ethan

  • world champ on one of the best team performances we have seen(EG)
  • amazing initiator(i will always remember him from his 100t days. that was my goat on skye)

the only thing you could say could have been the problem was ethan's igling skills, but people were already saying NRG were world class. some just didn't want to admit it bc of what happened the previous year and didn't want a repeat. Three players were changed since the previous year, so having an uneasy feeling isn't that warranted.

i'm not taking away any credit from bonkar. he was able to bring them to a champs trophy, but i just can't say he's the "goat" just yet.

and of course none of us will know the full extent in which the coach has an impact on the team on an internal level so this is all just speculation

everyone loves to say ethan’s such a mid caller, so obviously bonkar carried them with his strats right?

so bonkar alone carried three tier 2 players who’ve never sniffed an international, a mid igl, and a controller who is the worse performing player on the team to an UNDEFEATED champs run

surely he must be the greatest coach of all time then?

ngl show me this roster in 2022, regardless of what they'd done in the past, and i'd buy in

i seriously don't understand how can viewers comment on the igling capacity of players when we don't even know about the comms, ethan was secondary caller at eg won champs there, primary caller at nrg won champs, surely his calling must be great

this bro. i forgot that he was secondary caller for eg(which was part of why i always believed in him)

because their basis of their idea that ethan is bad at calling is almost solely centered around the massive failure that was the 2024 NRG “superteam” that he igled despite the fact that roster was doomed from the beginning

because you use your eyes and you see that a lot of the calls and the midrounding just fundamentally doesn't make sense. Rewatch the vods of early Split 2 NRG in 2025 and you will see what we're taling about. I think even if you asked ethan he would admit it, because there's no shame to have about it and now he's doing a great job, but he was a bad IGL until he understood Bonkar's protocols and learnt when and how to use them

don’t worry, he will be when he help contribute nrg to a top 3 finish as the only team playing double initiator

but ethan’s calling is so mid! bonkar’s perfect strats surely was the main reason they won champs right? how could they win with such bad calling?

yes this roster is decent on paper and won due to bonkars impact

i'm not enough of an analyst of val, but how much of their stuff was original/taken proven stuff and elevate it/taken proven stuff and paired it with aimers

that teams weakest aspect is aim. originality does not matter its the read that matters and bonkar had a great read for champs.

ethans calling was and remains ass, they have good mid rounding because their players are experienced and fairly smart at the game which sort of makes up for it but I never watch them and think "wow, this is a great pre-round call"

not to mention he can't adjust for shit

he had his part in developing players like sayf, leo, verno and skuba to where they are today

he was able to accomplish so much with little time to integrate ethan as a good IGL and prioritizing comfort in their comps (go look at their lotus and haven comp, exact same archetype yet the players are all on different agents/roles except for mada)

obviously all the players had their part in their champs run and contributed to it but to say that they wouldn’t win champs without bonkar is disingenuous

did he develop leo and sayf? i remember when they played together, but i'm not familiar with how much of an impact he had on those players

skuba has always been good idc

i'm not saying that bonkar did nothing, but do you think that what he did was generational? like sohuld he be one of the "greatest" of all time

Zero adaptation when enemy change comps lol

this shit is overblown lol

look at how well nrg adapted to DRX when they were the only team punishing their light shield buys in with the outlaw

G2 were also practicing double duelist for a while and chose to implement it when they actually dealt with a loss in regionals for the first time, so it’s not like any team will suddenly change comps to beat NRG because if anything it would benefit them more
