outsourcing players from outside(giving up on their own players) vs brewing home grown talent(not giving up on local talents).
honestly you cannot make proper comparison between the two teams as the regions are quite different but based on performance i would say GE was doing better than them till now.
Even the current team right now that GE has is tier 1 team even if they lose today ,but it is quite interesting to see to the philosophy based on which both are teams are build upon

japan has an extremely strong domestic tier 2 scene that has consistently produced tier 1 talent for japan and korea
there are zero up and coming talents in indian tier 2 that would compare to what vcj has produced

you have : VCL JP, arguably the best T2 scene in virewership and gmeplay, with talent pool from JP, KR, and even Russia and SEA

It is comparable before GE and Riot threw the region to dogs with their antics we were only behind JP in viewership still give 2nd best salary and honestly have always had better imports than JP does bcz in our region you just need to speak English while you need to learn Japanese to play in VCL JP and JP fans hated only English speaking roster in Scarz which btw was their most successful roster Kr1stal and Jemkin played for them .

2025 VLT was good in group, then they got stomped in the playoffs.

I thought you were talking about viewership and structure and investment not results but tbh VLT getting better result has nothing to do with changes it just happened bcz other regions are getting weaker too due to all the changes. Also that OG roster was bottom but took maps off the finalists and put up a good fight against both Scarz and Bleed despite their best player Azys never coming online that tournament. Also RNT won 1 match is 2024 they were better than that but Skrossi chokes internationally can't do much about it I guess if he plays like he plays in India would have miles better results.

we shouldn't be comparing the tier 2 scenes by success in ascension, just look at the talent that vcj produces
we have iZu, munchkin, meteor, something, jemkin, kristal, hyunmin, DH, akame, and more all coming from VCJ
They did whether you like it or not the reasons you mentioned can only be bridged with time and this franchising took away the chance from Indian teams to play against the best and improve ; Valorant is like the first big PC game of India we needed few years of popularity and support to produce something but now we are stuck in limbo again with VCT local popularity and chances both went away. I mean if you want to do such talent comparisons then VCL India talents haven't even been given a chance by anyone and whoever got chance have all done great Persia,Autumn and Dos9 is our contribution as of now . Others havent gotten their chance yet you do realise it helps to have 2 JP +3 permanent Korean teams which only play with players from their own region ?
There's no team that has space for VCL India talents its just random trials and pickups GE was supposed to be that space but they have not given chance to a single talent whether import or Indian.
there is a reason they haven't got their chance and its because they don't win trials, not because they are random
fact is that if you are good enough anyone will pick you up, and you cannot blame riot there
players need to be proactive and ask for trials, put themselves out there, and prove themselves
all the players you mentioned have proven themselves to be capable players in matches and trials, and as a result they get roster spots
JP and KR have an established esports culture to begin with that has been decades in the making
riot making VCT unfranchised would not bridge that gap, there is simply an infrastructure gap that would take years and years to cover
They don't get trials brother every team in Pacific more or less wants to pick from their own country there's just no scope of even getting trials outside of PRX who barely make changes and GE who dont trust VCL India players and when they do get trial its on unfair 60 ping against others on much lower but even then leave that VCT being unfranchised didnt bridge the gap but it atleast allowed them to keep trying to bridge the gap but bcz of VCT the whole structure is collapsing we dont know yet if VCL India will even happen this year no sponsors nothing yet would never reach here if not for Franchising and artificial Tiers and promotion.

GE already had LF and rest of the roster was just former Mad Lions players mixed with VCT players without trials. RRQ and PRX had no space , Talon wasnt going to import Indian players Secret was playing full PH and Bleed had won ascension and imported Yay. Idk where 24 slots were available for Indians or anyone here.

your logic is literally "there were already good players" or "no space" as if they wouldn't upgrade their roster if a better option appeared

india has at max 2-3 players that could play decent in tier 1 but they have all been recycled or trialed by GE at some point
I think some of them maybe should have been given second chances but the root issue of a lack of top talent still exists
I never claimed anything contrary brother you are tangled in your own discussion now that's all I have been saying we aren't good enough just like JP players aren't either none of them has ever been singed by Non-JP team btw just like our guys yet they have slowly been improving have produced a talent like Meiy due to great VCL and both JP teams playing with alteast 3 of them every year even if they go 0-12 or things like that. When your region is weak that's the only way to improve play and lose against the best until you catch up. With VCT Indian players have been denied that chance I hope you get my point I never said they are world class and aren't gettin chances but yess surely if an org was picked to represent my region and everyone else got shut out of the system I expect them to give chance to 4-5 of our guys before giving up on us but no they played a 4 import +1 indian roster right away in 2023. And everyone knows old GE core wouldn't do much but surely GE could have given Rawfiul, RVK, Deathmaker etc one shot before giving up on them instead of just playing Skrossi and LF who were their own players and everyone knows are perennial chokers in International high pressure situations and whole region is judged bcz of that one player forever.

for homegrown talent to exist, the lower tier scenes needs to be exist brodydody
just doesnt work since tier 2 japan is the strongest region in asia so they can rely on homegrown talent since that talent is good, if a region has a lack of talent then how r they supposed to rely on that talent
Valorant is flizzling out in india rn people are moving to other games they could've saved it by ge having invested in the scene but oh well up and comers don't believe in future of the game so less chance to convince parents. Riot could've invested a bit better and ge should've had a condition of minimum 3 indian player's but now it's bleak.
