title correction: 14-16 teams per region
I don't understand why riot hasn't thought of this idea yet, there is simply no way some proven tier 1 talents that haven't found any team and tier 2 talents that should be on a team but didn't get the chance are not on VCT
surely 10-20 more players competing in the IL couldn't hurt
14 teams - how would you even make brackets? 16 per IL is reserved for the biggest tourney of the year. the current 12 12 16 is perfect.
There should be more leagues with less teams that will be better than having 16 teams per league as it won't really solve the issue tbh
how will the slots be distributed if more leagues were to be introduced tho
Then its like make it so the winner and second place of each league is the one who qualifies for the first masters... Then the winner and second place and third qualify for second masters, and the end has 4 teams from each league qualify for champs?
Like suppose we split americas into south and North... Emea into europe, (africa and middle East) as 1... And pacific into like asia and oceania? Idk for pacific but like make a 6 league game instead of 4 and we can truly cultivate more talent.
Because now we get 12 teams for masters 1, 18 for masters 2 and 24 for champions... Maybe moving around will be harder for sure i can see the logistics issues and stuff but for 2027 it makes sense because to bring in talent you need spots for them
pricy for riot + viewership is alr bad regionally, all it would do is add more games that no one watches
by adding more highstake matches, I think thats why riot is removing group stages from regionals
Having 14-16 teams will do exactly what? Having higher no of teams won't exactly improve level of competition. There's a higher chance more worse teams are there than the better ones which will end up giving glue matchups than before which won't be good either for riot or for the viewers
Having 16 teams would be cool. You could do an actual season of round Robin style. And fill an actual season with it. instead of the half ass structure they have now and also it gives more teams= more players a Chance to show themselves at a high level and shit. Also it’d allow orgs from all places. For example itd allow a mena org, a Scandinavian org and another CIS team in emea
