Idk maybe bc they got first in 2022 3rd in 2023 and 3rd in 2024?
BUKDABOSS [#11]Gozen but not xipto??? utter woke nonsense
this current xipto roster is not favourites lol
they have zero experience at international events like gcc cause this xipto roster are new, and we don't know what they gonna show us
also every both gc teams from pacific didn't show a great results, and this time maybe different (since '23 they usually placed 4th, and in '24 too)
what about g2? people again overhyped them, but this people forget how bad they are since the start of the year, and now, when they win split 3, people still saying that g2g are really scary. for me, they're not. g2g are good team, but not undefeatable
Jayde [#9]Im not sure theyre ready yet tbh, hope they can pop off tho
if ntz win against nova, the real test for them will be against g2, to prove how good ntz are. to prove are they a really good team, or just another overrated squad
Jayde [#21]Idk maybe bc they got first in 2022 3rd in 2023 and 3rd in 2024?
Maybe my intepretation of your wording there is wrong but it comes across quite condesening especially when your argument really isnt what you think it is.
Lets look at 2022 when they won only 2 players from the winning squad remain mimi and petra the core, since then they have yes stayed at a high level, but they have failed to build around the core and make an international final. One can argue that the strength of competition in 2022 was not as strong as it is which i personally believe and for me i think the level of competition has improve alot since 2022. Im not saying this to take away from their win at the time they are winners and winners win in 2022 in 2022 g2 gozen were the best and i believe if theyd have been able to keep mary and glance this conversation would be completely different. Anyways the point im making here is the core they retained is clearly a good core 3rd 3rd 3rd in the same token you have to point out this same core has failed year after year building around it. Fair enough they won in 2022 but what have they won non demostically since? Nothing. How many finals have they made since? 0.
Lets focus in on the recent regionally this year. When they picked up akita i was actually massively excited i true believed that this was a good upgrade to rezq akita is fucking nuts. However if we look at them domestically since the akita pick up, they went from being the undisputed no.1 team in their region to a contendor in their region.
Yes they won stage 3 but lets be real that is a circumstantial win, put simply they were 3rd best domesitcally all year and now as a result of it they have to win it all to qualify for GCC for the first time ever.
So lets draw back to your original point
in 2022 when they won they placed 1st 1st 2nd domestically
in 2023 they placed 1st 1st 4th domestically
in 2024 they placed 1st 1st 1st domestically
in 2025 they placed 3rd 3rd 1st domestically
So since history is important, in their history if winning they are in their worst season ever, this same season is quite litterally the most competitive season of GCC and your trying to tell me the team with "a history of winning" (getting 3rd twice i never new was winning but we move) is a contendor when theyre not even the best team in their region???
If your goal was to successfully ragebait congratualtions you achieved your goal i took the bait

LMAO nice post though, people are hella overrating G2G this year when they are on track to have their worst finish in the last 4 years
foythvlr [#18]G2 has a title and got a top 3 every year
That is a valid point. But to that I bring 3 points
BUKDABOSS [#28]That is a valid point. But to that I bring 3 points
- In 2022, subjectively speaking the competition was alot easier than it currently is, i think this is fair to say
- They only retained 2 players from their winning squad and havent won anything internationally since
- This is their worst season ever in history combined with the fact this is the most competitive gcc we have to date for me personally i dont think they can be put as contedors especially when theyre not even the best team in their own region atm
They literally just won GC Emea. You can argue KC and GX didn't go 100% because they were already in the main stage but it's their own fault. By definition G2G is in fact the best team in EMEA rn
I also think this is their best roster since 23 and while it is their worst season results-wise i think it's more about EMEA as a region stepping up the competition than a proper decline. Like you said, before the competition was a lot "easier". And while they only kept two players from the champions run they got other two great players who have good international experiences (only Akita is a rookie on that squad)
I would put Xipto as a contender as i would also put MIBR but i do think G2 is ahead of Xipto rn for experience and history alone
Tetrodotoxin [#27]LMAO nice post though, people are hella overrating G2G this year when they are on track to have their worst finish in the last 4 years
Thank you, i appreciate it. But yeah i heavily agree dont get me wrong G2.G are a good team but looking at the competition man how can you favour them coming in to the tourney over other teams like xipto, kc.gc, mibr.gc etc etc. And for me they most certainly are not in the same level as srg and tl.gc, akita is not that massive of an upgrade in my eyes

I think we may have been missaligned here boss, I dont think xipto are the favourites, i think they can be a favourite but like you said we dont know how theyll do internationally also combined with we dont actually know if SRG will be as dominant without florescent, i intially was SRG all the way, but i did not like what i saw from them in americas with dodonut, not to say shes a bad player but i expected srg to be more dominant than they were domestically. Anyways what im trying to get at here is i think we agree on pretty much everything youve said.
For me this whole tournament falls down to

They're okay, but they're not the best. I've voiced my concerns over keeping mimi and petra on the team previously, and when petra left I was excited but that immediately wore off when I found out Nelo was put into her place.
I don't know how old you are, but petra and mimi are a package deal since CS days and G2G kind of fell into the trap of keeping them both with mimi even having her contract extended until 2027 (this needs a fact check but I'm lazy to find the announcement). I very strongly believe there are better IGLs and scan players in the GC scene.
I'm sure the vibes on the team are good, but vibes aren't going to bring you baseline skill. There's been a clear sign Turkiye has good players coming out of it year after year and GC is no different. With the amount of resources G2G has they could just build a turkish GC superteam around amy and vania. I think amy and Safia are two strongest sentis of EMEA so replacing amy isn't a thing they should consider.
BUKDABOSS [#34]I think this argument is very very very disingenuos to the circumstance.

- Stage 3 is the easiest objectively to win as the no.1 and no.2 points unless theyre ultra sweaty are going to be using the extra time to prepare for the brutal new patch that is coming up so they inheriently have no insenentive to win stage 3.
- So yes factually G2.G are EMEA NO.1 seed. G2.G are also likely the team with the least preparation from emea. Your not guaranteed to make GCC in the first place their main focus would have been winning stage 3 to qualify for GCC and then using the remaining time to prep for GCC on the new patch (im just assuming this is how they would have gone about it anyways i cannot say for certain)

- Me personally i dont rate the region of emea as a whole tbh. GX.GC is a bit of a trainwreck for me, im really unsure about KC.GC i want to see them do well but theyre on fraud watch for me personally.
- Funilly enough as much hate as i give this g2.g roster i think this also is their best ever roster especially after watching akita show up in stage 3 playoffs, if we get that akita at gcc i might believe
- Im not filled with hope of them being contendors because this is the same core from last year - rezq +akita, i rate akita alot and id have to see what akita we get at the tourney but based strictly upon performances going in, i think xipto srg kc.gc tl.gc mibr.gc beat them, thus why i can personally see them being contendors.
I would put Xipto as a contender as i would also put MIBR but i do think G2 is ahead of Xipto rn for experience and history alone
- very fair and valid history is very important and i agree from a historical perspective its very lgoical to state g2.g>xipto but for me personally i just prefer to look at potential of xipto im just assuming that they can keep their same domesitc performance internationally and in the case that they can xipto>g2.g for me personally.
But you are compeletly justified in saying place more trust in a proven team international over rookies with potential

I agree partially. Yes GX and KC probably didn't give their 100% and that made a difference but i don't think it was that easy or even good of a choice on their part. That's based on the fact G2 got a much easier bracket and are pretty much locked for a top 5 (unless nova/ninetails go nuts). A championship is a championship, they will have the momentum of a EMEA run + a very likely R1 win that will make more of a difference than the patch itself. GX will face MIBR first and either SR second (and KC third) or a rough lower. KC will get Xipto first and either SR/MIBR/GX itself or a even harder lower. S3 wasn't as throwable as it looks like and i do think, right now, G2G not only is the best EMEA team but they also have the best position possible to get a good run and the best EMEA placement because they took it seriously
Other than that, i agree that EMEA isn't that good, but i do think they got better than previous years. And i can see Xipto beating them but at the moment i think they are the least possible not because they are a worse team but because experience and momentum will say a lot for G2 possible run and that's pretty much what im basing it. Anyways, its pretty much a "Guess we'il see" situation, because we have yet to see how much the patch will impact the gameplay, but in any case my favorites are still TLV, SRG and MIBR

- Can SRG dominate without florescent. If SRG cant then its about who can theoretically take down SRG, and for me i think TL.GC, XIPTO likely to take the crown if SRG dont just dominate again this year
same thoughts

also i’m glad that you clearly explained me ur point of view, and now i’m understand.

Honestly i pretty much agree with everything here, apart from g2 beating ninetails, i was gutted when mur didnt make gcc 24, now they here theyre winning it all (insert copium meme).
But yeah thank you for this discussion its actually been really refreshing to be able to discuss my thoughts about valo with someone, you reminded me i havent done my bracket yet and honestly this gcc is so stacked i have no clue who to pick so i just ended up with this, praying on srgs downfall and xipto to win it all XD.

bro u re the goat
finally i found a really good comment with all explanations about this. i have same thoughts as your as i said it earlier and i say it again. g2g looking a little bit shaky despite their win in stage 3, and for me they’re not a really strong contenders to win gcc.
people just forget how g2g look bad at the beginning of the year. i like some players in that roster, but i don’t think they gonna win this time. idk, maybe i’m wrong, but it always a random.

if ninetails miraculously win g2g after nova gc, i took my words back against them.
also i remember mir gc from last year, and they looked pretty solid. also same things about xipto cause ntz have a players without experience at international tournaments, and both teams from pacific can be nervous cause it’s their first serious tournament. so, we all see this when gcc starts!
hinahinaa [#37]same thoughts

Im glad we cleared up the misunderstanding.
And i agree with you again because im not a fan of the experimentation theyre doing with noia/alexis. From what the team has said noia is the one who doesnt want to play senti. And it makes me feel the same way i feel about wo0t not wanting to play duelist, im kinda like wo0t your are not a flex player get your ass on jett rn. I have this same vibe with noia shes so good on senti not to play her on senti, even in pro city ive frequently seen her playing senti and she crushes it its feels so backwards to me to have your best flex and best senti playing off roles.
As for dodo i was actually so massive on her coming into the season i was like losing florescent is bad but getting the 2nd best duelist in NA is not a bad replacement i actually expected them to retain their dominance but they were as dominant as i expected which is what makes this gcc so hard to predict because theres really noone to confidently scale towards rn if that makes sense
BUKDABOSS [#43]Im glad we cleared up the misunderstanding.

yeah, i agree with you.
but noia on senti is goated than alexis😭 i don’t want to say that Alexis is bad player, but from i saw, she’s very weak on that role, and her performance is not……insane as noia’s.
yeah, when flor leaved sr, i’m worried who’s sr gonna pick instead her. and they signed dodo. i think dodo need time to shine, and this time is gonna be at gcc.
all that i want to say that i don’t like when players changing their roles instead of their mains, because final result always being sad when you see your fav players not on their main role. (i just want to say again maybe this people just tired to play on this role, and they want a little bit experiment with this) but this experimentation sometimes can not work….
Jayde [#40]Holy allat, anyways ijust think g2g are more likely to win bc they have experience and i think vania is goated but if xipto get themselves together they can win fs and i can also see g2g flopping horribly...
They had experience in 2023 and 2024 and placed 3rd. Unironically the year they had the least experience they won it all XD. This is the point i was making to you theyve had all this experience however they havent won anything with it. Experience in their case doesnt really mean much as weve seen what their experience gets them which is 3rd place twice.
if xipto get themselves together they can win fs and i can also see g2g flopping horribly...
Wait so we agree... I guess the only thing we dont agree on is xipto>g2.g in terms of contention but thats subjective really
hinahinaa [#41]bro u re the goat
finally i found a really good comment with all explanations about this. i have same thoughts as your as i said it earlier and i say it again. g2g looking a little bit shaky despite their win in stage 3, and for me they’re not a really strong contenders to win gcc.
people just forget how g2g look bad at the beginning of the year. i like some players in that roster, but i don’t think they gonna win this time. idk, maybe i’m wrong, but it always a random.
Great minds think alike as they say brother 🤝🏾🤝🏾
Tetrodotoxin [#35]They're okay, but they're not the best.
I think amy and Safia are two strongest sentis of EMEA so replacing amy isn't a thing they should consider.
ive watched probably 2 hours of csgo in my lifetime so i dont know about them as a package but completely agree with you about there being better options.
If i had it my way id rebuild around vania and akita amy if you wanted too retain a core
Akita Duelist
Vania Smokes (IGL)
Toka/Glance/Eva Initiator
Sandra/Ness/Amy Senti
Anesillia Flex
hinahinaa [#44]yeah, i agree with you.

Just checked her tracker shes being playing alot of senti so hopefully this is a great sign for SRG that their experiment is over
BUKDABOSS [#46]Great minds think alike as they say brother 🤝🏾🤝🏾
i’m not a brother, i’m a girl x)
and I’m glad that we have a good conversation about this!

we definietly agree, i dont think xipto or g2g have much of a chance if im being honest as i dont think their peak is high enough but if i had to choose one to win then it would be g2g
i think both of these teams are very even in terms of skill tho
BUKDABOSS [#39]Honestly i pretty much agree with everything here, apart from g2 beating ninetails, i was gutted when mur didnt make gcc 24, now they here theyre winning it all (insert copium meme).
But yeah thank you for this discussion its actually been really refreshing to be able to discuss my thoughts about valo with someone, you reminded me i havent done my bracket yet and honestly this gcc is so stacked i have no clue who to pick so i just ended up with this, praying on srgs downfall and xipto to win it all XD.1% chance 99% faith
https://www.vlr.gg/pickem/cd04ca38
if TLV loses another GF i might nuke Riot ngl
hinahinaa [#38]riot want g2 to win so bad😭 so got them the easiest side of the bracket (except liquid) and the bottom side of the bracket is just a battlefield
and that’s it
nah i think they just got lucky. this is the most balanced a bracket can be is just that 3rd seeds are fucking crazy
BUKDABOSS [#16]Tell me you didnt watch gcc apac qualifiers without telling me you didnt this is such a horrible take im actually stunned
Ofc you are asking a who guy whether he has watched apac GCC or not who just have just dickride Na
SleepingSnorlax [#55]Ofc you are asking a who guy whether he has watched apac GCC or not who just have just dickride Na
Firstly what are you on because the delusions and sentencing is really really bad. Secondly where have i "dickrode Na" ive litterally said numerous times i dont like how the only NA team has played this year and i expected them to do alot better where is the dickriding there?
hinahinaa [#49]i’m not a brother, i’m a girl x)

Ahh mbmb, and yeah im glad we had this convo too
