Valorant toxicity

Don't get me wrong guys, i'm just trying to understand what caused this phenomenon. Why this toxicity all over the Valorant community?

Look to the global scene and you will see that the majority of people in pro scene/ranked are in one of those groups:

1 - Was good in a irrelevant game
2 - Wasn't good enough in a relevant game

So when they got good in Valorant they think everyone else is trash and bad.
Look at Redgar and Nats: Both the currently champions and are humble.
We should learn more with them.

The scenario is new, so players not that good (talk more than play) always have opportunity, doesnt matter the region, this increase the toxicity.
Time will choke them, the community will be better, ofc, with the jokes about EU > NA and the other regions jokes

It looks like most of them are frustrated and must show their "superiority".

It's odd tbh. I feel the pros have a bit of banter to bring up hype, or just shit talk for the content. Fans take that shit way too far. I'm not sure what caused the val community to be so toxic. I guess it's people who want to get the bragging rights as soon as they can. HOwever it will keep swapping. This year has been NA-EU-**(current champ winners)
Next year will probably have BR somewhere in there, SEA somewhere in there, Na or eu aswell. It wont be until a few years where we'll get the first real dynasty, which I think by team fans will chill out.

We'll pretty much repeat CSGO. The start is one region centric, however after a few years another region takes the reigns, competition happens between fans, etc.

It's because we're all anonymous behind a screen. no repercussions for chatting shit, or being a moron.

It's the same shit as league. Immature 18yr olds who have grown up on the internet, not knowing how to not be a cringy fan of their team/region. it's odd that you find people who just genuinely want to see good games, or good storylines. Like the newer set of esports fans take shit way too personally.

I miss the good days of 1.6 or early csgo where it wasn't as toxic as what we have now. Pretty sure so many toxic people have pushed away the people who genuinely like the game.
A few friends of mine refuse to use hltv, reddit, vlr, etc. Just because of the forums being cringy as fuck, and people taking shit way too personally.

You are completely right. I miss the old times when we were able to discuss the scene seriously.

Surprisingly out of modern fps games, I've had the most grown up discussions about Siege. Every region has had good fans when it comes to how they treat eachother.
ofc we have the EU>NA or NA>EU, etc. Right now it's BR>everyone. Which the biggest surprise is how respectful the siege BR fans are, compared to what I've encounted on cs, and val. Like, I've never had a bad experience with BR fans in siege, even when Eu/NA memed on latam(all SA siege is under latam), for a few years. right now they're ontop, and fans are humble. Scene is honestly a bit too nice at times as NA just hates on NA. Eu hates on EU, etc. game has 0 storylines which is sad.

I doesn't matter how humble this players are, haters gonna hate. Just look at TenZ, how humble he is from his entire career in valorant and now he brutally flamed everywhere. People just took supporting their team and players to the another level right now. In this community especially in NA-EU, when they are not doing good, some of fans instantly become hardcore haters.

The best and positive fans in this community are Japanese CR fans. When they lost, their twitter was full of support from their fans it was so wholesome.

Hopefully this community doesn't repeat what Dota 2 community did to ana back in 2017.

I’ll tell you why
Players tend to come from these games. League, apex, fortnite, and some cs.
League is the most toxic game out there.

Valorant just has a lot of ego problems. Queueing in higher ranks in NA everyone has this massive ego it can make the game super unenjoyable.
Sentinels has an ego or at least 3/5 of them do. You’ve figured they got humbled at Berlin but didn’t.

Valorant mostly consists young and immature players both inside and outside of the pro scene, players will mature overtime.

why are u trying to psychoanalyze? it's just banter and hype most of the time, idk why nerds on forums get offended by shittalk when it happens in all sports. anyone who takes that shit seriously (other than the death threats and the zombs situation) is an idiot

  1. can u read, i literally said other than the death threats
  2. calling a region shit at a video game is complete banter, EU has done it all the time to NA

if u get bothered by someone calling ur region shit at a game then the problem kinda lies with u

When you bring up topics like this. Just remember that clowns on vlr and hlrv etc are the MINORITY of the Valorant scene.

Simply go on Twitter and you can see the outpour of respect and wholesomeness the community has in any pro players replies.

Don't get jaded because forums are full of dickheads, they really aren't the majority of the scene.

Sorry i just read "why are u trying to psychoanalyze? it's just banter and hype most of the time, idk why nerds on forums get offended by shittalk when it happens in all sports." someone talked to me and i thought that i read everything

My bad

About "shit region" is something that you don't expect from a pro player, but fans.

Sadly twitter isn't a proper place to discuss about our scene like this forum is supposed to. I'm aware about twitter people that focus in wholesomeness and i can see a lot of them.
I would like to seriously discuss about the meta, strats, map pool, players, teams and regions because this game is just on the 1st~2nd year and we have a lot of improvments to do, but most of the toxic people are here and playing in ranked.

Thats true, look at SEN as the biggest example. Shahz, SicK, dapr, Tenz all very unsuccessful CS players. (was zombs even relevant in overwatch?) They come here as a humble new team, dominate the scene, win the first international LAN, and now they let the ego get to them. Now they think they're the best. I think this is true for a lot of players and honestly I expect it to keep happening. Same probably happened to NV/V1 too.
