someone once told me:
"for you to be more known you have to follow a niche"

the issue being is that i dont want to be know as "the guy that's _____"
if i would want to be known for one thing, i dont even know what niche i should follow.
kind and supportive? understanding? confused? hungry?
alright the last one is a bit far fetched.

i dont want to follow a niche, following a niche feels like imprisoning my free speech and free reasoning.
but thats my point of view...
i now wan't to know, how does the rest of vlr think.

so real
i dont know what i want to do later. i am doing a very broad study, so i can do anything. i guess i am a generalist, not a specialist… but it feels like im the only one with such a mindset. it also seems like much of our idea of “success” is built around becoming the best at one specific thing - i just havent found that one thing i’d want to do for the rest of my life.
is this close to what you are getting at?

kinda
i dont want one THING to describe me, not while i take joy in so many other things
be it my intrest in Motorsport, my activity in Volleyball, me drawing or programming, or just generally goofing around.
i dont want to be stuck doing one thing

Having a niche is nice and all, but people will recognize your name just by seeing it a lot on this forum.
As of irl you don't have to be the best anything, matter of fact you don't even have to be good at anything, just try to have fun since that's what is most important at the end of the day. Some ranked players are jealous of pros because they are so good at the game and some pros are jealous of ranked players because they seem to have fun playing the game without any stakes involved. You don't need a niche in vlr or irl.

thanks
i had been thinking alot about this topic.
like i said in the beginning of this thread

i dont want to follow a niche, following a niche feels like imprisoning my free speech and free reasoning.

looking back on the text i think the "free reasoning" is a bit far fetched
though, i feel like following a niche is just going to lead you to be unhappy since you dont know your own self, what you really want to do.
