VCT china has i believe, a completely different way to qualify to ascension than other. i dont think much is known of how it works outside of china, mainly due to obscurity and language barriers.

I believe they collect points over the year throughout tournaments to qualify to ascension though.

Yep, it works similarly to other regional leagues except afaik the points are earned through official third party tournaments as well - I believe you can see them on liquipedia

They compete in National championships (Similar to challengers in other leagues). Im pretty sure that the 4th place in points (How u qualify in ascension) (Xtreme Gaming) didnt pass certain requirements and led to some of the lesser known teams qualify
