If another team wants to acquire academy talent of a team (example Skuba to NRG) what is the transaction like in that situation? Like do they buyout their contract? And if buyout then are the contract prices as high as tier 1 or comparatively low?

“Rob is a good person because he didn’t trap an academy player and put him in contract jail without letting him get a tier 1 opportunity”

I mean if the buyout was low, maybe he is a good person. You have no idea the number of owners who put their players on contract jails...

That means he’s doing the bare minimum. Calling him a good person for not literally restricting the freedom and potential of a player on his academy roster is kinda normalizing when orgs do stupid shit like this and contract jail their players, imo.

either a direct buyout or a transfer deal. sometimes other orgs swoop in after an academy prospect's contract ends too

In an ideal world, every org owner thinks this is the bare minimum but they don't so... Credit where it is due I guess. Still giga corny oml
