Thinking about 16 slots:

EMEA 5
NA 4
KR 3
SA (BR + LATAM) 2
Japan 1
SEA 1

Thinking about China, India, and Oceania joining VCT with 24 slots:

EMEA 6
NA 4
KR 3
BR 2
SEA 2
LATAM 2
Japan 1
China 2
India 1
Oceania 1

No cap, let’s be honest here

EMEA is a region consisting of CIS, TR and EU. There are way more teams in the EMEA region than the NA region, Riot gives more slots to the EMEA regions to give all three regions a better shot at having a team qualify.

You say also say that NA should have more spots since they are winning, then by that logic, the other regions who aren't winning as much such as JP and BR should have their spots taken away?? Your logic is flawed.

Also, NA is doing pretty well with only 3 spots, I dont understand why it bothers you so much??

EMEA is a region consisting of CIS, TR and EU.

It's actually Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Those regions overlap a lot with EMEA but they are not the same thing.

There are way more teams in the EMEA region than the NA region

Yeah, largely because there are infinitely more languages, countries, and cultures that lend themselves to making more teams with common interests.

But when did I say a single thing about EMEA? You keep talking about EMEA when all I said is to not reduce NA's relative representation when they're destroying everyone and are the biggest region in talent.

Riot gives more slots to the EMEA regions

holy FUCK why are you still talking about EMEA? Are you serious? What the fuck are we doing here, I talked about NA not EMEA which has 5 slots list?

to give all three regions a better shot at having a team qualify.

The representative teams are extremely focused in 3 or 4 small subregion of the region that spans 3 massive continents.

Turkey, Russia/CIS, and the Nordic states are all super dominant.

Seems like maybe like South Western Europe should get their own region, as should the Middle East minus Turkey and then Africa.

Since you like representation over having the best teams, surely you would agree with:

1 mostly Turkey (SMB)

1 mostly CIS (Gambit)

1 mostly Nordic (Acend)

1 mostly SW europe (G2)

And then 1 Africa/Middle East.

If you care about representation of all the EMEA regions, this is the logical next step, you must agree?

You say also say that NA should have more spots since they are winning

Can you not read? Or not do math? Which one?

24/16 = 1.5 = 150%

150% of 3 slots is 4.5.

So anything with 4 or 5 slots isn't increasing NA's presence.

So why are YOU saying NA should have even fewer slots?

the other regions who aren't winning as much such as JP and BR should have their spots taken away?

When did I say that?

You owe me an apology, I didn't say this.

NA is doing pretty well with only 3 spots,

Yep. So you should be okay with the most talented and successful region having proportional representation, right? Of course you will, unless you are really just anti-NA....

why it bothers you so much??

Well, considering you started talking about EMEA when I didn't say a single word about it, then you started lying about things I said, i think you're the one getting very bothered.

Why are you so upset?

NA doesn't need 5 slots. EMEA should either have more or be split into its 3 respective regions and have more as a collective whole.

so EMEA, who hasn't won a single group in Berlin despite having the most spots, should have EVEN MORE slots while NA, who is undefeated in Berlin, should get FEWER?

The copium is fucking ridiculous lmfao.

Logic thrown out the fucking door

Your point makes no sense. If Valorant wanted the most competitive Masters they would have international qualifiers and filter out the weaker regions entirely.

Riot deliberately chooses to have representation from numerous countries as to have more diversity and for the fans. Other regions have great fanbases and are entertaining to watch even if they aren't the top 1 team in the world. It's good for the game's growth both as an esport and as a game as a whole.

EMEA is a very strong region and there is absolutely no reason to give NA more slots than EMEA when the region of EMEA consists of CIS, EU, and TR.

Thank goodness, someone with a brain. Your first 2 paragraphs are all any one needs to read if they're confused about NA not having more slots.

Riot wants VIEWERSHIP and GROWTH from this game. You get that from these "minor" regions which may not be as skilled yet, but the player and fanbase will be absolutely gigantic.

Most people will never understand this on the site though, because their level of thinking is absurdly low.

Tournaments are going to be 24 teams
SA/CN are for sure getting direct slots (also maybe OCE)
SEA won't get a slot removed
NA aren't getting 5 slots

EMEA having 5 slots is dumb because 5 eu teams could just sweep and other regions don't get to participate

I think we should wait to see how champs will turn out with who wins and the placements of all the regions and the such however based on rn for the top 3 this is how i think it should break down idk how i spit the remaining seed for the rest of the regions
EMEA 4
NA 4
KR 3

NA - as shown right now is the best region in Val all 3 teams look poised teams topped their groups and all you can do is beat the teams put in front of you and that is what NA did with Sen being atop their group rn and look like they'll win out and 100t and NV winning their groups and i think the region that is doing the best should have more teams allowed to participate

EMEA - has not done as well as they should at all with zero teams topping their respective groups and their number of teams stay the same just due to the sheer amount of teams that they have

KR - has honestly impressed as the tournament went on with VS topping their group and f4q doing well depending on the map and who they are playing this is the one I'm most iffy about cuz Korea could just be a 1 team region with VS being insane and the rest meh but I don't watch enough Korea to know

Slots have always been about the population density for the game.

This doesn't mean that having a greater population = more slots, it means that a greater population that is playing the game will have more slots. If it were about skill, this has some form of logic behind it but riot doesn't work that way and it probably shouldn't.
