GENG probably already won the final

if they have to face SEN again, the map veto advantage for that match would be too favourable:

  • GENG ban Sunset & Lotus
  • GENG pick Breeze/Icebox (GENG win)
  • SEN pick Split (50/50 imo)
  • GENG pick Breeze/Icebox (GENG win)
  • SEN pick Bind (70% for GENG)
  • Ascent remainder (GENG win)

At worst a 3-2 for GENG, 3-1 being more favourable. If they're feeling confident then they'll let Lotus through and instead ban Bind again, but why give SEN a chance like that for the 2nd time?

This is assuming SEN makes the final in the first place of course.

It's really over. I feel like gen g worse match up is probably loud. Anyone else I think they clear finals.

GENG's map pool is just too complete compared to SEN, it was a big reason why EG were so strong in Champions.

Yes only loud has deep enough map pool to consider contest. The first time they play it was so close.

Every time the consensus changes to "APAC is definitely gonna win" they get shit on, stop jinxing

Except that they should objectively win (assuming SEN makes it), if they don't then they deserve to be clowned on again lol

SEN only wins if they anti icebox sadly its kinda a wrap for this tournament

LOUD has a chance too but i dont think they get past the other two teams

grand finals is a different beast mate. Things like map vetos will realistically be thrown out of the window, its all about who turns up.

Not really, FNC 3-0'd EG because of the massive difference in their map pools paired with the veto advantage. Teams with similar map pools will make the veto look irrelevant like PRX vs EG at Champs, but that's not the case for GENG vs SEN.

Other than Tokyo Fnatic and SEN rekyjavik, imo most of these grand finals have been won by teams and players stepping up on the big stage instead of being completely on map pool. But its just my opinion. You never know, Tenz and Zekken could have an insane game next matchup and competely flip the score.

lock in where fnc are massively favoured on lotus / split and they lost till map 3 comeback
prx had a goated veto against FPX and lost in cph 2022
PRX had another insane veto against EG and lost champs 2023
optic sweeped loud when loud had advantage in iceland 2022
gambit destroyed envy when ENVY had coinflip advantage and gambit never played haven and beat them in berlin 2021
acend beating gambit on icebox champs 2021
its really about who shows up on that day

Yup, I didnt wanna write allat up, but thank you. Gambit had never played haven, and had redgar running reyna and won the map against ENVY's pretty much invincible haven (shat on 100t and SEN). Optic made ascent vs LOUD unbelievably close despite it being LOUD's best map. Sacy literally carried LOUD to the victory. Suygetsu hard carried FPX on fracture and breeze.
