There will be ppl saying
"Mickey mouse tournament"
"Only 8 teams? Thats less teams than the international leagues"
"The teams who would be the best team later in the year were just formed"
"Their team had a core that stayed together for a long time"
"The playoffs were single elims in regionals so the best teams didn't go"

Same thing they said abt Fnatic

Lock-in was a bit of a fluke (11-3), but Tokyo wasn’t
Fnatic still insane, lock-in just not as impressive as a normal masters

Wonder why Fnatic is sitting at home rn with the same roster as last year's "best team of all time" and benjy fucking fishy and the booblings got to shit it up at LAN

The difference is lower team quality at lock-in
Every single franchised team was there, so even those not good enough to make lans were there
Fnatic faced sen, leviathan, and 100t, none of whom were good enough to make lans that year, then faced navi, who got grouped at lans the entire year, then beat Loud (tough opponent)
Madrid arguably actually has very high team quality

imma be honest, i don't think any team going to playoffs has an easy path there (besides FPX, that team is miles below the rest).

SEN vs. TH and KC is valid
GenG vs. LOUD and EDG is valid

Any team that played FPX (LOUD and KC) still has to beat a strong opponent (EDG or PRX)

Any team that wins will have my respect
