I don’t like this trend of somewhat fraudulent tournaments

Lock in: no lower bracket although this was understandable and a cool way to kick off franchising system

Madrid: no lower bracket and a bo3 to qualify. Some teams only have to win 2 games and go to Madrid. Literally Mickey Mouse games being played during qualifiers. (Sen and g2 maps 2/3)

I think Madrid will be cool but kickoff is a terrible mess

Yeah Madrid itself will be cool, but depending on whichever region births the winner the other regions will just argue it’s fraudulent due to the messy qualifying process

if you qualified, you won the matches you needed to win. if you didn't, well, you didn't.
if you are the best against all the teams that qualified, the tournament gives you ample opportunities to prove that.
anyone arguing Madrid is mickey is dumb.

Don’t claim that t1 wouldn’t have probably beat gen g to qualify. They literally got unlucky due to a coin flip draw and had to play the best possible opponent.

The fact that happened should prove kickoff qualifying was stupid asf

Yeah trying to converse on this site is impossible. It’s obviously a flawed format but vlr users will just attach some bias to me and say I’m coping. T1 is probably one of my least favourite teams but I’ll admit they got screwed by the terrible format

Also we have the same understanding of the gen g-prx result, you just clearly didn’t read or understand

I'm arguing against the people who think Madrid is mickey or fraudulent, not the people who wanted a better kickoff format. The format for kickoff could be better, but saying that Madrid is mickey or fraudulent because of the format of kickoff is wrong. teams had chances (double elim) to qualify. I still think teams had a chance enough to qualify. teams had chances to learn from their 1st matches and teams still lost. it is what it is, more time would've been nice but it doesn't mean the format was bad.

you just said a whole lot of nothing lmao. GenG is not fradulent they are a clear top 2 team in Pacific with PRX, its just pacific is very weak right now. Heretics have 2 of the top 4 and 3 of the top 10 players by rating at EMEA kickoff

to make top 4 you needed to win 3 games at lock\in, to make top 4 at madrid (including qualifiers) you'd need to win 5 unless you are from group C. thats the difference
