Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday

I've been seeing a lot of discussion regarding the Ludwig X Tarik Invitational with a LOT of weight put on the results. Regardless of your allegiance to any team, player, etc. ... I am very curious as to your personal views regarding these offseason tournaments/events ... Do you think it's a sign of things to come? Or do you not put much stock in them?

Personally, I don't think off//season events hold much weight.
So many things can change between the events and the VCT season, including major meta shifts.

A lot of the off//season events also include odd formats which we would never see in VCT.
(Best of Ones as an example)

I just see them as something fun to watch, like a more professional/organised showmatch.

only two tourneys mattered, afreecatv and red bull hg, but then again its all for nothing once the new meta comes

For me off season events are like scrims but on steroids. Teams are testing things, strats, trying to build synergy. I usually don’t care about Off-season tournaments results.

We need more off-season events. Just plain and simple. Good practice matches for pro teams and great content for viewers.
Also very great chance to explore newer players as well. Overall good for the VAL community so hope there's more off-season events and tournaments to come in the future. Please invest in more.

Its gonna depend on the event tbh
When it comes to t2-3 events like A1 or THE POKAL I love to use them as an easy way to just get an overview of what upcoming players there are - unlike t2 players pretty much no one knows shit about whos currently in t3 waiting for a shot in t2.

However I assume youre mainly talking about the tier 1/2 offseason events
For those I tend to look for positives with each team (theory being that they still have time to fix the negatives)
So I dont put much weight behind the results at all, but I do think is important that teams show something to get exited about (assuming they already had practice for a couple of weeks, otherwise it doesnt matter). If theres nothing good to talk about I feel like its gonna be rough for their early season since its too much to work on then.

Off season doesnt matter much but hey, I get to watch some t1 vs t2 and International lans, so I am not complaining.

I think that it only matters depending on how long the roster has been practicing together. also I enjoy your videos on the score👍

When the competition is high it's worth noting, especially when it's the first time seeing the results of the hard work by some of these T2 teams, more so when it's against franchised teams with established players. Not all of the OFF//SEASON events have been the most challenging and some aren't worth forming an opinion around due to the teams that participate, but I think the matches that hold the most weight for the future are the T1 vs T2 teams. On one side you have teams that might have restructured and are testing things, but are still a decent squad whereas on the other end is a roster that has been grinding a lot to put up results with talent that has yet to break into the partnership leagues. These tournaments (for T2 teams, at least) are a great way to see how far a player or squad can go and if they're worth investing into imo.

I think that good showings hold far more weight than bad showings as teams showing they can play well in offseason events such as sen affirms all the good qualities and shows extra potential whereas a team underperforming such as 100t isn’t impacting my opinion of their max potential it just shows they may need a bit more time than other squads

all offseason matches should be taken with a grain of salt imo

I watch offseason tournaments to see the process of how teams find their footing for the upcoming season
Most of the time though games are lower quality than actual VCT matches since they are still experimenting
