APAC Viewers Come / Regarding APAC Roster

Is it a coincidence that Pacific teams are shifting towards 'clout' after witnessing PRX's success in the league and on the international stage?

The former PRX members have gained clout from all over Asia, particularly from their respective countries of origin. The following are the former PRX members: Cgrs (Thailand), d4v4i (Malaysia), Jinggg and Benkai (Singapore), Something (Japan/Russia), mindfreak and f0rsakeN (Indonesia).

These are the potential 'clout' players that the teams are looking to sign or have already signed.

  1. GE - Traded their best player monyet for Benkai (Singapore), keeping LF (India), taking blaZek1ng from Boom (Indonesia), and rumoured EMEA import.
  2. T1 - Taking xccurate, a former professional CS player, played for Persija Esports in 2022, and a streamer (Indonesia)
  3. RRQ - Keeping their 3 Indonesian players and 2GE, taking in Estrella (South Korea), and rumoured Jemkin (Japan/Russia)
  4. BLEED - Rumoured yay, the player that people is looking forward to see in VCT (USA/Worldwide), plus they literally have clout from Thailand (sScary) and Vietnam (crazyguy)
  5. DFM - Based on spreadsheet, it seems they're looking forward to sign South Koreans players?

Below is the list of teams that are either retaining players from their respective countries or are in a state of confusion.

  1. TS - Rumoured Giansanity, I heard he's pretty popular there, and it seems they're going full Philippines roster?
  2. ZETA - Keeping a full Japanese roster?
  3. DRX - Keeping a full Koreans roster?
  4. GENG - Seems like going full Koreans roster after t3xture signing?
  5. TALON - ???

P.S. Here, 'clout' doesn't carry any negative connotation, such as having massive influence without skills, as I just simply couldn't find a more suitable word for this.

What do you think? Which teams will attract more fans and attention from all over Asia? Will they be able to maintain their performance at the same level as the clout they've gained?

I mentioned that based on his current reputation, as he's one of, if not the the biggest streamer in Asia outside the VCT players.

Xccurate was literally gaming on CS when half these people were struggling in T2 or didn’t even started playing. Bro has that LAN experience and certainly a lot of game sense

I dont know why my blud appeases to foreigners as much, they wont support GE, other APAC teams have better teams to support so it only comes down to Indian fans and you can actually have an organic team with 5 hellF tier players and people will rally behind the team BUT he just likes ex NA talents who dont practice & retired korean players. He doesnt even get any support from korean fans, they already have DRX and Gen.G.

Such a huge missed potential to help grow the scene.

It appears that what Indian fans wanted is similar to what most Indonesians were asking for before the league started. By now, it seems that the Indonesians have been a little bit appeased by RRQ dropping two Filipino players.

And it's opposite for GE, after the failure this year they didn't listen to the fans requirements of having full local roster. But is it worth it though risking next year's competition with full SA talents just to appease the fans?

But is it worth it though risking next year's competition with full SA talents just to appease the fans?

it comes down to experience at a high level which Indians do not have, leading to no top team giving opportunities, leading to no try hard by talents, its a cycle. Initially LATAM and even TUR did not do well, but they didnt shyy (heh) away from it, the next year they got used to the pace. Players need something to fight for, and their parents to trust their kid to go into stuff. Without opportunities, neither the parents will have trust (who the kids swear by) or the talents themselves like venka, cracked duelist zoomer who went back to studying after doing great in challengers.

I dont think the record with a 5 man indian roster would've been as different with the international roster we had. Maybe DFM tier, but it will still give hope to players in the region to try to get into. If there was no franchising, I would agree that its a risk but WITH franchising, they had a chance to stabilize and build a local roster.

about Talon

according from Foxz stream 2 day ago he predicted the full talon rosters might be

  1. 4 thais left+boi and coach from NA/EU
    or
  2. Patiphan,crws,jitboy + boi + new duelist from thai

i don't know how much we can believe in him

So, there's no international roster as the spreadsheet predicted? Also it appears that Talon has many options, considering the new affiliate system. They might have just partnered either with MiTH or Full Sense?

more clout = more money from riot due to incentives

Riot forced teams increase their popularity. No wonder in emea they allowed incompetent teams like bbl, kc, koi into partnership only because they have big fanbases.

more clout translates to more viewership which means more fans and money come in.
i think it's a win-win situation, and most of these players aren't bad.

RRQ could gain more clout if they make 5 Indo Roster, instead getting 3 to 10max Korean fans from signing Estrella. they gaining haters from their own country for small clout from Korea

Oh God when will APAC stop this whole "oh we need home representation" nonsense? Alright I get it, home representation increases your fanbase and also develops a connection between your fans and your team, but like, are you really gonna create a full one country / sub region roster at the expense of being a successful team? Like wtf are you doing?

FNC is a UK based org, but you don't see people in the UK crying cuz they don't have a full British roster. Just like that, Team Liquid are from Germany, but you don't see any Germans whine about Liquid not having any German players. Same goes for so many teams in EMEA, hence why they're able to form superteams like FNATIC, and win so many international LANs. They represent EMEA as a WHOLE!

Meanwhile here in Asia, we're just clout chasing. We don't even care about the success of our region. Hence why we have 0 trophies. Just imagine if players weren't put under a clout jail and could go to teams of other sub regions. We would have formed at least two super teams till now.

Idk man but talking about indo and their "iNdO sUpErTeaM", idt we are still onto that (except a few stupid kids). We are just simply happy our talent finally get a recognition that they really deserve. Thats why we're not really complaining about estrella and jemkin RRQ signing since both of them perform really good in ascension. At the end of the day if the players could thrive with international squad, thats good enough.

I don't think ScreaM is getting any offers in EMEA..... I wish GE extend an offer to him. Just seems too perfect when you have 3 IGL's on the team no body would want ScreaM to use his brain and just go full duelist mode
Blazeking is probably the Sova/Fade
Benkai is the Sentinel
Russ is flash Initiator
LF can be Smokes
