I have seen a lot of people saying that G2 will do good in the Americas but all I know about the players on the team is their international showing and their lcq run in 2022 and based of off that I don't think they will be as good as many people say but to be fair I don't know much about that team. Do they actually have a roster that can do good in the Americas ?

Arguably both NA Ascension teams were doing great in scrims vs Americas teams, so they are expected to do good

I feel like it’s the same thing with 100T. Good players but it doesn’t feel like their ceiling is that high right now.

I believe the guard core will become the longest standing core in VCT americas, which is normally a good sign.
A good group of young players which have now gained a lot of experience in high pressure high competitive situations.

Reykjavík wasn't really a proper showcase of what they could've achieved.
imo them being NA first seed at the event negatively impacted them.
They have learnt from this though and have gained more lan experience.

Having a core that has been together for a long time could be good but as a DRX fan I had many occasion to see that it doesn't mean that much sometime

I don't know, they did well at champs 2022 and Lock in, I'm pretty sure they just messed around with a 6 man rosters when they should have just sticked with the same 5, if they did i'm pretty sure they would have done way better

I remember that during ascension saadhak said on his stream that both M80 and the Guard were very good teams

11 teams in the league, theyll probably be 6th-8th

they are going to be a strong team because the others are getting nerfed as almost every team in americas is having major roster changes ad it takes time for teams to get their shit together whereas guard core has been together for like forever so they'll have an upper-hand going into the league

Idk about best in Americas but they definitely have a chance at qualifying. The teams are looking pretty balanced rn assuming EG is probably gonna lose a player or two

Yes they are that good, and with Jawg they are going to be deadly.

The team has a 2-year history behind it with notable wins and known good players. Their stats speak for themselves. Masters contending team in 2022. Won ascension, as everyone expected they would at the start of 2023, and that's a good sign imo.

bro said expected.... m80 was what r u on about. I really like g2(guard) and I firmly believe that they are a contender but you have to think, in 2022 their only notable thing was making it to masters 1 where they lost immediately, losing 2 series in a row. After that, they went 1-4 in stage 2 not even making it to playoffs. In lcq they did a little bit better but you have to remember that most of these teams aren't that good compared to the top contenders in 2022.
in 2023, the only real contenders were m80, the guard, and the union. I think they will be no higher than top 5 on average.

No, at the start of the year Guard were expected. M80 was a new team no one had seen, that 100ts were talking up. that's it. "they were the old Ghost squad" sure, the guard had been beating that team up for the entirety of 2022. Yes, they were expected.

As to how well they will do this year? I think your take is fine.

TGRD were always a T1 team in in terms of talent and results. Being in ascension didn't change anything.

Realistically middle of the pack in Americas, peak like 3rd best case scenario

with leaf they could have been a contender.

Now top 6 is most likely

In sideshow's video on the g2 picking up the guard he said that even in T2 the guard has innovative strats that t1 org uses.

ya , 2022 guard were like a Top 5 NA team, just simple mistakes prevented them from champs , Now i dont think they will be a Top 1 team in franchising i think they def will be a top 3-5 team forsure.

If they get leaf they'll be the greatest roster in the history of the game

if not they'll quake beneath the shoes of the GOAT team C9
