In all seriousness do you think your region will ever experience an uprise like Brazil or China

What GE is doing right now is a fucking disaster. GE is the only representative, there is no need for a fucking 4th korean team. What part of South Asia do they not understand? They are heavily dragging down the evolution of Indian Valorant. As 'bruddah' said (https://www.vlr.gg/266867/skrossi-fired #12) its better to have a 5-man Indian core and go 0-9 than trying to build a winning team out of players with other regions. It's a longterm investment and the team would definetely go atleast 7 losses but thats the experience they NEED, the exposure to high quality gameplay they never get. If you keep playing against other T2 bots, you will never reach a higher ceiling and break through into T1. Sure, Indian Valorant is hot ass at the moment but if you never experiment and never try to improve, you will always be bad, no matter what happens.

Look what happened in T2. Orangutan was the best team SA valorant had to offer. When they went on the big stage, they got obliterated.

2024 Should be an awakening call for GE and to get AT LEAST 2 players on the main roster.

fuck it if u dont find good t1 players from india . get 1 from pakistan . i would suggest having open tryouts . it might cost them a lot but it would be the only way to do justice to whole South Asia as a region.

Yeah, India Pakistan Bangladesh just search everywhere south asia at this point

This region has by far the highest population out of them all, its statistically impossible for there not to be a Demon1 or Jinggg cruising around in ranked lobbies

There are not. The reason is quite simple, gaming is a taboo like smoking weed is in some other parts of the world. My parents would straight up start a rage fit if they saw me playing games. Going to college after I turned 18 and then living far away is the only way to game peacefully. And that is when my parents are mostly chill about most stuff. 90% of Indian parents are worse.

And that was because I was able to build a career at an early age, most Indians don't get a job untill their late 20s and they stay with their parents.

Anyways, the age of 18 is too late to start gaming to become a pro player. Mechanics need to be developed from a young age. No matter how much effort one puts in after 18, you will never reach the mechanics of Jingg or Forsaken. You need to start early. That's just biology for you. Hardwork beating talent and an early start might sound like a good anime/bollywood movie plot, but it doesn't happen in reality. Even India's prodigy SkRossi is like 24 or older at this point which is basically the retiring age for most pros.

There is a change though, some parents allow kids to game in their early teens. There is a kid named Zephe in the Indian roster and he is high immortal and maybe even reached radiant at one point? He is 13-14 RN and still has a couple of years to improve. This just proves my point. Starting early is the only way to compete at the highest stage and that is practically impossible in South Asia.

they need to get a full indian roster, doesn't matter if they win or not. Pick all the top duelists of their tier 2 teams and turn them into other roles 🗿

Look what EG did these players are literal T2 prospects who got trained into T1 monsters.

Im pretty sure there are some promising players spread across a region with 2 Billion people.

agreed for even DFM im not dat sad as long as they keep 3 JP players(COULD hv Better Picks tho)... im happy

for SA yes they have few(3) Okish/Good Players but all scattered in Different teams... GE should be the one to scout them under one banner

Venka was so good, its a shame he retired. I respect his decision though, studying is a more reliable career than esports, ESPECIALLY in India

Ikr
If you have an all Indian roster, it doesn't matter if they lose every game, at least we have someone that's representing us on the highest level of play
Also, unless you get tier 1 experience you'll never improve

Yeah its not only about representation its about experience and improving

Look what Riot is doing with China. Putting them in every masters and champions, so they can get LAN experience and play against the best teams in the world. Thats how you improve and learn how to deal with LAN / high pressure situations

Whenever conversations of this sort happen, I feel like everyone misses the elephant of the room, which is the material conditions.

South asia is one of the poorest regions in the world.
24/7 electricity isn't guaranteed in most cities in South Asia. Most people don't have a pc at all, or a pc that can run games. And also the internet sucks.

Most people with money have consoles they use to play offline games. The select number of people who play competitive shooters in their PC are still not interested going full time.

When I played csgo, i literally knew almost every single guy from Nepal who played csgo regularly.
And every indian pakistani or bangladeshi in try hard community servers had a mutual steam friend with me or were my steam friend.

Now, since the pool itself is this small, the amount of people who are willing to give this game their "all" is even smaller.

obviously thats correct but with a population this high even 0.01% still equates to 200'000 players

Im sure in the future this region will grow

But 0.01% of people play valorant to begin with.

So now take 0.01% of that.

Funnt thing is there are skilled nepalis afaik at games that are popular. Like mobile games such as mobile legends and pubg mobile ahahaha.

So there's 100% a lot of potential. Nepali boomers now think esports is a real job due to politicians supporting it too.

I think just wait 5-10 years. We finally got good internet and electricity. It'll happen naturally
