Hypocrites

I clearly remember seeing the hate for PRX alecks at the start of the PACIFIC league, the no. of people wanting him to be removed from the roster and prx to get a new coach. (before something was a part of the team)
Now he is one of the best coaches in the world

I also clearly remember seeing the amount of hate for stax at tokyo. people were calling him an incompetent igl with no mid rounding skills and also very weak fragger.
Now people love him again, he is again that clutcher and the main rock for DRX

again i am not a fan of drx or prx, but i have made these observations. i dont have an opinion on whether alecks is a good/bad coach, neither do i have on stax as a player/igl. but the number of hypocrite fans in "valorant" i have seen is appalling.

PS: again these are just two example. i have seen hypocrite fans band wagoning for almost every team in vct. i would appreciate if every person can understand every team has its ups and downs, they'll be good, bad and absolute "sentinels" like, you need to support that team throughout. that's what will make seeing that team win the most worthwhile.

Okay tbf Stax did look worse in both LOCKIN and pacific league too especially since after termi did that solo IGL strat that ended up deep frying his brain

the fans in valorant are definitely more impatient, and they definitely band wagon a lot more.

one bad patch and they want:
instant changes -> instant improvement -> instant success

people live their entire lives supporting Nottingham forest or something when they very well know they arent winning shit, and wont ever have the capacity to buy the best players possible, to ever be good.
(not sure if nottingham is the right example, dont know much about bottom PL teams)

Alot of people at the start of the season wanted more coaching staff cuz alex does everything don't remember prx fans saying anything about replacing him
And for the stax point I wanted drx to stick to five and at the time found stax the weakest link so benching him was an option his calling was not good and it didn't improve cuz he suddenly got better at it mako sayed everyone calling now with stax being the main igl

its just how the competitive setting works, if your team is failing then the major portion is gonna fall onto the coach and the IGL and prx looked horrible at times where they were kinda stepping back from their playstyle and trying to play a more conventional style of valorant and it didnt work at all they looked horrible in lockin and was mediocre before they got something, its the same for sykko and dephh they were seen as top coach/igl in Americas after 2022 champs but after lockin and the first half of the regular season everyones opinion changed coz even with a strong team on paper they didnt do anything to get success, recency bias will always be there as long as a competitive sport or esport is there

People are stupid, they forget that players are also humans and someone can have bad days or just a bad tournament. Not everyone can be consistent for every tournament or match and they start hating players.

there is not a "loyal" fanbase to any val team even compared to overwatch
cuz overwatch's team is literally named by the cities

Probably because international tournament opportunities are so few and far between. You basically play 9 matches in a season which decide if you qualify for masters and champs. LCQ is a complete joke as well, with no lower bracket. Also there's basically no 3rd party TOs inviting international teams. Currently, valorant esports is unforgiving to bad patches honestly. It's more of a quantity thing rather than fans problem.

Its not that
But people here change opinion real fast
Team wins "omg they're so good" but once they have an off game they are shit, would be removed or whatever

It's everytime the same

i dont value opinions of people if they change every single week, then they are not opinion those are just complains and wishes.

if your opinion is: player plays bad -> kick him -----> time passes, team keeps on working -> team does well, player shows his worth -> omg, i always believed in him

the stax one is more understandable because drx have been trying to contend for international events since berlin. 2 years now.

they obviously look better now, but i still think they will need changes if they dont make at least top 3 at this event. it will prove that this lineup isnt the one that will win DRX a championship. they still have lots of role issues, and i think a more flexible IGL would work better for them.
