We'd have all these juggernauts contesting for the win:

Drx
Loud
Zeta
NRG
EDIT: forgot KRU were in champs
Alongside the teams that right now look possible contest for FNC
TL
PRX
EG

We've never had a tourney where more than 3 teams were actual contestants for the win and it's a shame it's p much the same in this champs. It feels like valorant takes 1 step forward and 1 step back every year and I wish we could finally get consistently good teams from across the globe

Nrg just don't look to have very high peaks meanwhile TL were struggling to manage round to round and kinda threw ascent yet they were still close to beating NRG.
Nrg is consistent but as angel said it isn't consistency that gets you the win, it's being able to show up here and today and be able to get to the highest peak you've ever reached before.

zeta has literally been a bad team at every event except Reyk 2022. not attending Reyk 2021, 13th-16th at berlin, not at champs 2021, 3rd at reyk 2022, not at copenhagen, 9th-12th at champs 2022, 17th-32nd at lockin, not at tokyo, likely 9th-12th at champs 2023

Nrg beat loud in the season and beat EG right before tokyo. Liquid hasn't proved anything except that they can get 1st in a farmers league full of shit teams and against a fnatic who was saving strats heavy.

Well we can apply the same logic to NRG who only beat loud when loud had nothing to play for and were saving strats and then got bodied 3-0 byt the end of the season.
EG were also not performing individually like they were in Tokyo during the playoffs

Who's gonna tell OP that a team having a good performance requires another team to have a bad performance against them?
Not to ruin the fun but whenever one team wins, another team loses, and you'll look at how the losing team did and say that they didn't play at their peak.

Honestly, if you took any current top team and send them back in time to 2021 with the knowledge they have now, they would destroy "peak sentinels". That's just the nature of the game evolving.

And especially with only 3 interregional events in the whole year, you're never going to have a bunch of "top contenders". There can only be as many winners as there are tournaments for them to win. That's the nature of VCT.

Prime Zeta would honestly beat NRG imo
I think NRG currently arent as good as Optic were in Iceland (mainly cause Yays Chamber and Marved) but yea to me NRG dont look like a team thats super mechanically strong unlike Zeta at their peak

not by this NRG, maybe its a stylistic difference that would let NRG take it but in terms of general power ranking against other teams id say prime zeta was wild with each player constantly having pop off rounds
