igls study/play the game the most. surely, if you play that much, your mechanics are peak radiant

so why do so many igls have ascendant level aim?

and people whining about “they have to call,” “they have to look at mini map,” blah blah. like ok but that doesn’t make your game mechanics worse. watch them struggle in ranked where they don’t igl

you know how much better a team would be if the igl could shoot back and the team had 5 elite players?

An IGL can be mechanically good and the team can work (Boostio, Runi, kr1stal, kiNgg, etc) but it's really not that necessary for it to win and actually you could argue that it's better to have an IGL who concentrates more on the IGL part rather than the mechanics part.

Not one "fragging" IGL has won a title, besides shahzam in April 2021... During all this time there have been many fragging IGLs, but it just didn't work as much. Saadhak is the closest thing we got, boaster as well I guess...

It's just not needed for the IGL to bring that firepower

the sample size is small and early valorant has been dominated by nepotism and preferring experienced players

valorant will shift into having better igls. literally no reason for an igl to not have radiant mechanics. they play the game 24/7

Someone can have bad aim and be a bad igl. So, I'd assume there are players that have good aim and are a good igl. But its not just 1s and 0s its a spectrum and I know all about being on the spectrum.

I heard the idea that it is not necessarily more difficult for an igl to frag in a game. Still, the fact that igls need to spend more time vod reviewing and strat-making than usually, other players would use to iron out their mechanics makes them more likely to look bad mechanically-wise. Maybe it just so happens that the successful teams are those with igls who spend way more time making sure their team can shine, than making themselves shine

nah that’s cap. so many good mechanical players barely play the game outside scrims. also, there are diminishing returns when training

plus igls should just have to be at least radiant aim imo and that’s not a high bar

and idk about other igls but FNS consistently does good in his ranked games (where there's also pros on the enemy team)

they should still have good mechanics even when calling. the other players are also calling stuff during gun fights. it is a team effort (watch a t1 team’s vod)

but the main issue is objectively measuring their mechanics. even in the gun range shooting bots, u can tell elite mechanics from average

better calling/midrounding will have more of an impact on the game than them winning just a few more aim duels.

i dont even think most igls have that bad of mechanics, namely boaster and FNS. its more that the fact that they are doing a lot of the thinking so they arent as FOCUSED on their crosshair as much of the other players

none pro igl player has the aim of an ascendant, not even the FNS is like that, this is delirium. When you're constantly thinking about strategy, worrying about other people's play, and looking at the mini-map, you're never going to be fully focused on your aim. Realize that it is very common for people who start the role of IGL to decrease their individual performance, it is a fact that an IGL tends to have a lower individual performance. Also note that it is quite common for IGLs to get scared during the match, precisely because they are not paying as much attention to their aim. When you are high elo, the minimum of excitement and lack of attention counts.

its like that in every fps lol bc the igl is constantly thinking. Cs u got bots like karrigan, gigachad hooxi, apex, snappi, and glave. Val u got bots like fenis, boaster, angel, and stax. Eventually tho game will evolve where it would b impossible to b playing 4v5.
