Why RIOT, WHY????

The system was PERFECT, PERFECT, every single detail. We had local matches, local rivalrys and an epic chance for anyone in the world to create a team and live the dream of reaching a masters and even maybe a Champions.

We had everything, then RIOT literally Said FUCK ALL THAT and created Franchise out of nothing, with a game in 2 years of existence, why would you do that? Now it's over, orgs are literally getting out of of tier 2 because simply there is NO CALENDAR, why would you fucking do that?

There is no reason to play competitive Valorant anymore, you will be in tier 2 forever while the blessed orgs are in tier 1 with all the tournaments, and you (the player) are left out with nothing to play for.

Orgs now are simply abandoning Valorant for the lack of reason to stay there, Valorant is officially a dead game, GG.

I agree with you on this, Val eSports is ruined. Nothing beats open circuits

Calma, mano.

honestly I feel like people who think franchising is good are pretending. It’s not good for the players, it’s not good for non-franchised orgs, and it’s not good for the viewers

Exactly, but sadly partnership is here to stay and the golden era of val esports is over forever

It is all about financial stability and being able to make orgs act in ways riot likes. (Content, financial security and other efforts to further the scene). Which is not a bad thing itself but it does impair pure competition.

The biggest problem is lack of games and also unnecessarily long breaks such as off season. I think adding more teams to the league (10 -> 20) and also creating a relegation/promotion system would spice things up a bit.

The addition of more teams would provide much more opportunities to host more games and also make the league more competitive and interesting in my opinion.

The amount of orgs that have pulled out of t2 in all 3 regions after their ascension tournament ended is insane. Imagine orgs hiring talent next season without recent performances (thanks long offseason). Most pros will play org-less. The gap between t1 and t2 will increase further.

Yeah in that case teams would start making rosters just before ascension and expect them to win with only a month together💀

Long ass breaks are not fun, and the "glass wall" of skill difference between Franchising and T2 make it so people don't care to watch the T2 scene.

Plus, the production value in T2 is ABSOLUTE DOGSHIT, the Ascension finals were absolutely horrible to watch.

they definitely still have a great chance. following the leagues over 3 regions was very exciting to watch up until the last day too. If they add a relegation/promotion, the system will sustain itself very well. Because right now the challengers feel useless for T2 in the grand scheme of things.

Most people won't get it but franchising provides a better structure and business model for sustainability and growth of the scene as a whole. A simple example that I can think of is imagine you're a pro player who made it to qualifiers last year but sadly for the past couple of months your team is underperforming and you have an uncertainty about the stability and the team itself. Contracts could be short term or the team might disband or lose sponsorships if you have any, leaving you and your teammates scrambling to find new opportunities. However with franchising, you can sign with a team that has a guaranteed spot in the league, offering stability, financial support, and resources necessary for your development as a player to compete at the highest level.
