Man there's so many tier 1 players from Europe that is still playing CS beating all of NA's best tier 1 players without dropping a map is insane, Valorant is set to be very competitive in the future.

Eventually, some of them will switch over to Valorant if they don't find financial value competing in CS.

no they wont lmao
-cs2 realease, basically will bring a lot of motivation
-you kinda have more opportunities in cs since there you can actually qualify if you are good enough
-you dont have a franchising league that is cringe af

There are infinitely more opportunities in cs than valorant because riot are retarded
Go look at the major, you think GamerLegion, Into the breach type teams coulda made it to the major in valorant ? Fuck no, these types of orgs are rotting in vrl's, cant get a competitive roster because of country import rules and because rio's system is basically closed, throwing a bone here and there.

Riot can't even make a real S tier tournament. You think a 16 team tournament is a good "major" type? It's pathetic.

I think 99.9% of the best cs players are happy where they are.

only in europe. go ask any other regions cs players how many opportunities they have and how much money they make.

major is fair to every region, every major slot is earned. actually eu is the most difficult region to qualify, If C9 is in asia/america, they would definitely qualify without doult

im not talking about major cs scene is close to nonexistent in asia and na

#32
HLTV_BIGGEST_FAN

asia is just because cs isn't that popular there, and there aren't that many local organizations that are interested to host events
na is just bad lmao

#33

thats on valve for abandoning their game lol

#34
HLTV_BIGGEST_FAN

wouldn't say that, but I won't deny that valve should have done something

cs events are all made by organizations, and organizations must be profitable obviously... but the thing is, if there isn't a big playerbase in asia, why would hosters create events that wouldn't be profitable?

so it's not orgs's fault or valve's fault that asia doesn't have that much interest in cs
and I heard that the reason cs died in korea was by governaments fault, because of lan cafes laws... cuz korea cs was actually decent in 1.6 times

and this analogy applies also in NA, but the reason that most of NA cs died was because of covid and valorant

very good point. All this franchising shit in reality is made to gatekeep t2 teams from being an active threat to t1 teams.

In this csgo major t2 are cleaning the floor with t1 "franchised" teams. This situation is currently impossible in valorant, because t2 teams are actively being gatekept from potentially competing at the highest level.

#23

no its made to make valorant attractive to orgs so that players can make money instead of having to play in 1000 qualifiers before they make living wage.

first time ever we see such major and you all talk about great tier 2 cs scene and favouring that KEKW
franchising is good for stable esports, regional leauges will grow eventually and nations could settle full national rosters in future
cs tier 2 is alive only bcz 322 and betting and its alive only in EU
rito is right company and doesn't work with bettors - huge respect

#28

I agree that it's gonna bring stable esports and other benefits like that, but for me it's just preference. I love laissez fare approach of volvo, imo bettors and gambling scams are the inevitable future of esports

i agree with you that volvo & gaben are goated
but this approach working only in EU bro, thats why cs esports died in NA and has never succeded in Asia, with no support its unreal to be stable.
rito are full aware what are they doing, they barely had success in Brazil two years ago, now they #1 fps in that region. They struggled in Korea but now Valorant is getting more and more popular there as #1 fps. They already got the most wealthiest regions like NA and Japan. Lucky bastards on rito will invade China and they will make second LOL in terms of success and money

and you are right, for instance EMEA vcls can stay alive only with bettors if rito won't support 9 regions with money (they obv won't) or will die.

You're right, I completely ignored that riot is capturing all the markets that volvo failed to capture, while volvo is merely maintaining what it captured 2 decades ago. At least it's good to see that now Riot and Valve are competing not just in moba genre, but also FPS. In terms of moba, Riot is the obvious winner, but can it replicate the same in FPS? Interesting to see where all of this is headed in 5 years time.

In 10 years for sure Valorant will dominate CS. There won't be any new FPS games as good as Val until people start getting bored of it like LOL which can last decades. CS2 is nothing, CS3 might be something if it even happens.

#4

imo cs2 is gonna bring cs to a renaissance, while valorant continues on track to become a boring game, so no reason for cs pros to switch

eu valorant scene is gonna have to homegrow their own fresh talent

True if CS wasnt as big in Europe as it is rn EU would dominate Valorant

People downvoting this comment are absolute idiots. If the entire EU scene had shifted to valorant we'd get the exact same picture there is in CS.

I would not be opposed to some of them switching to valorant. The EU scene in valo is atrocious with only fnc and navi being any good

Most successful region? fnc won a mickey mouse tournament, and acend was the biggest fluke of all fucking time. gmb was good tho but they fell off somehow leaving emea with only one team to carry them last year (fpx)

Why is NA acting all brave when Optic is all they had last year. EMEA had multiple teams winning and dominating the scene for sometime. Dude other regions are so shit that even an nerfed EMEA won a trophy last year.

If Acend was a fluke, it would've been gambit anyway.
If Lock//in is a mickey mouse tourney, then so is Masters Reykjavik 2021.

With your dumbass logic NA has won one mickey mouse and one fluke tourney and nothing else.

Are we seriously acting like NA wasn't carried by optic/NV for most part after Iceland 2021 lol. NA teams didn't even make playoffs in Champs 2021. Emea as a region might have the same few teams at the top but atleast they have teams. NA doesn't even have any. Apac doesn't have any except drx(prx fell off after Copenhagen). SA has only loud with other teams looking like they won't even make playoffs except furia. Emea is still the only "good" region in valorant since each time they won,it was a different team

As long as you are fans of a continent and not a country, it is not threatening at all. Absolutely no one cares. There is no identity in most of these teams. That's why NA and BR will always be above you.

There won't be any Danish team in the Champions, nor from the UK, Latvia, or Israel. Zero threat. 'But what about Europe as a whole?' - who cares? There's not even a way to make a joke that would hit everyone, the five players are usually from different countries, hahahahahaha.

Danish team in the semis already idk what you're talking about. Even North Macedonia is still represented in Play-offs and Brazilians are out 0-3 grouped. Sad!

Basically cs is alive only in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia and rest East Slavic EU. Western EU are playing Valorant like Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Benelux you can’t deny this fact.

#47

France isn't playing Valorant, nor is portugal or benelux.

Valorant and CSGO are not alive in italy. No esport is alive in italy.

Spain I agree. But Spain, much like Italy, doesn't have any FPS legacy.

  1. NA is 2 countries.
  2. EMEA is basically 2 continents with 50+ countries including Russia - the comparison is not fair at all.
  3. If you think any top tier CS talent can just walk into Valorant top tier pro scene and keep winning it all - that is not true, apart from the mechanics these two games are different at the highest level.
  4. Nobody cares for CS in NA - go play on the servers here - they are dead + filled with Russians shouting cyka blyat
