valorant -> cs2 migration

do you guys think it's possible that some big val names could migrate to cs2 once it starts being played professionally, just like what happened when val was launched?

what makes me think about it is the confirmation of tsm joining the cs scene in the future, but knowing cs2 is coming i think they will wait for it to start being played professionally for them to announce a team, and possibly start a val to cs2 exodus of players.

You do realize most of those players are around 20 now so they were teenagers when they left cs right?

So if you're not a pro since you're 14 you're not good enough? How many players were successful before 17

Literally what I'm saying. But are you trying to defend that if you don't win trophies at the age of 17 you won't have a successful career?

nope but if u don't compete in tier 1 cs before you turn 22 its kinda hard ngl

Alright, did some research too. Out of the 40 players you mentioned, 12 were MORE than the 22 years old the you set as the mark to be too late to go pro when Valorant was launched.

Ange1, fns, boaster, victor, crws, stellar, scream, dubstep, borkum, benkai, laz, reita
Out of this 12, Ange1, FNS and scream were actually tier 1, so that's 9 players who didn't succeed left.

Out of those 9, 6, crws, dubstep, borkum, benkai, laz and reita are asian. What does being a tier 1 Asian CS player really mean. Game and scene it's just not the same. Also many of the are IGL which is a role you usually shine later on your career

So that leaves Food, boaster and stellar. Victor was tier 2, boaster and stellar weren't really a thing but again, both shine in valorant because of their IGL skills which is a role acquired at a later age.

a lot of the most notable ones. Ropz, niko, twistzz, and s1mple come to mind, but there’s more than that

And how many come to mind who got good after 17? More than they did before being 17 or less?

pretty much like 80-90% of the best pros you can think of became tier 1 at 17-19. All teenagers.

Which is when many of the valorant tier 1 players now left. Conclusion, we do not know what would have happened. Could have been ass because it's a different game, or maybe they would have been good

Probably not, it's a different game that requires different capabilities. But just assuming they have failed it's not really fair either because they didn't really get an actual chance

No player in valorant wouldve amounted to much in csgo
CSGO on top of being harder, to break into the tier 1 pro scene, you'd have to be ungodly good at csgo which none of these players were even close to being.

Just drop it.

Like the comment above said, if they couldn't make it in CSGO they wont make it in CS2 (same game, just an engine update).

Only players I see trying CS2 are those who have no chance of making franchise or even VCL, so basically t3 players.

No partnered player is going back to CS2.

Partnered Val pros with a CS history either:

  • Reached their peak in CS and decided to switch
  • Got banned from CS and had no options
  • Were very early in their careers and weren't that good.

Now that they've got success in valorant, they have zero reason to. The young dudes have built their brands as Valorant players.
MAYBE some older dudes will, but I still doubt that.

I honestly doubt unless he gets a tier 1 offer or he really likes cs to be grinding tier 3 or tier 2 scene for a while. Even then u have to consider the players in tier 1 and the ones already grinding the game hard would be better options.

#51
yungbasel

Yup, and let's not forget there's a guaranteed salary for partnered players. Breaking into the paid tier for CS isn't going to be easy, thus, players aren't going to switch games without an offer already being on the table.

But he actually said he was looking for going back to CS. But not sure when. It's clear that he likes cs more, but he has opportunities on valorant

they 100% will have a new VAC system

will prob copy valorant anti-cheat

I hope so that's only way they can make their mm system not a joke and ppl don't need to use 3rd party.

Valve does not want an intrusive anti cheat

The best they might do is an opt-in intrusive anti cheat. Where you only matched with people who also opted in as well.
And those that didnt opt in get matched with those that didnt.

They wouldnt do what riot did.

You do know its the same game that they stopped playing a while back right? The first priority in CS2 will be current CSGO pros not the ex pros and after that comes the left overs and that does not include valorant players simply because the CSGO line is already huge

CS2 hasn’t confirmed any notable changes to tier 2 structure…

There’s no reason for them to switch from a scene with money on all levels, stability, and franchising to CS2…

#41
zeldrols
0
Frags
+

There's literally no reason why they would consider switching back unless there's opportunity in tier 1 scene or growth and money opportunities in tier 2 scene. Valve is less hands on with the esports compared to riot.

CS2 is the same shit, same shit company that doesn't work... The same game, the same company that doesn't care about the community, creators, players, or anything, always outsources work because they are incapable of doing something (maps, skins, etc), don't care about cheats, don't care about people committing crimes in voice communication, the list goes on...

I dont think many ppl from val will go back to cs except maybe scream or ethan. The reason y so many ppl came from cs to val was bc they couldnt cut it in cs and they were all in tier 2 cs. I'm pretty sure they would not find any more success then they did before if they did went back. Also I do not see the reason for going back if you are doing well in val.

tier 2 or tier 3 maybe.

Tier 1, never.

The security that RIOT give to the tier 1 players are amazing.

you would have to be extremely stupid or trash at valorant if you are a pro player from NA and move to/back to cs with the current NA scene. It would be understandable if T2 players from EMEA moved to cs with how bad the leagues are right now (not talking about skill but how they are ran). I doubt a big chunk of the valorant fan base will move to cs2. maybe a few but then most of them will come back to valorant. if they didint like csgo then they wont like cs2

#58

the only player worth like any mention i could even somewhat realistically see switching to cs2 is scream. because the way this guy plays val and IGL's KC (into oblivion with how bad his calls are) it just seems like he wants to be playing cs in valorant. like that is his ideal world or something
