i dont know how accurate is this, but it is kinda the same with korean people instagram id, they just put the alphabet where if the korean keyboard is used then it would have typed in their name (e.g: Bae Suzy ig is skuukzky or something like that).
or maybe similar to boombl4 from csgo where the characters in boombl4 us used because the most similar to russian letter when actualy you pronounce it as boomich (in this case zmjkkk as kangkang)
