Day One:

RRQ began the series on a high note, kicking off the series on ZETA's map pick of Haven with a 9-0 lead, eventually converting into a 13-10 victory for the APAC side, and establishing an early hope of a first victory for the APAC squad.

ZETA sought out for vengeance in maps two and three, refusing to go down without a fight as ZETA resisted defeat. They were eventually able to claw their way back on Ascent to take their own 13-10 win, ending the early momentum established by RRQ.

Leave it to Dep to lead the way to victory for ZETA DIVISION.

Lotus, the decider map, ended at half time with a 7-5 lead in favor of the Japanese side, with RRQ trailing behind. ZETA DIVISION came out in the second half to take a flawless defensive side, ending the map 13-5 in their favor to win out the series 2-1.

Roster swaps were seen on both sides, with Talon fielding Patiphan instead of JitBoyS , while T1 brought ban into play.

Ascent started with the Pacific's first taste of Gekko, picked on the side of Talon. Off the back of a pistol clutch by ban, T1 were able to grab an early advantage, quickly responded to in kind by Talon to go up 3-2. A subsequent streak of rounds only broken by a ninja defuse on round 9 brought T1 up to an 8-4 lead, spiraling into a 13-8 win for Korea.

Saving the pistol for T1.

Map two brought iNTRO back in for T1, while the Gekko antics continued for Talon, taken on by foxz . A second pistol clutch, this time by Munchkin , allowed for T1 to take another early lead. Unable to respond back to several of T1's fiery site executions, T1 ultimately grabbed a 9-3 advantage at the half. Sayaplayer held dominant throughout Haven, paving the way to victory for his team with a 3k to seal the deal at match point, ending the series 13-6 to go undefeated once more.

Day Two:

Sunday's opening match featuring Team Secret and Paper Rex marked the first encounter in nearly six months between the two teams. The matchup would decide once more who the kings of APAC were, with PRX leading in the head-to-head between the two.

Beginning with Haven, Team Secret were able to quickly climb to a 5-1 start, but Paper Rex responded in tandem to equalize the map 6-6 at the end of the half. Despite finding another four out of five opening rounds in Team Secret's second half, their lead wasn't enough to cement victory. A streak of five rounds in a row for Paper Rex starting at 7-10 eventually led them to match point, finishing off in a narrow 13-11 win for PRX.

Placed on the back foot heading into map two, Team Secret began Fracture on a high note by taking five rounds in a row — two of which were clutches — in order to establish yet another early lead. Paper Rex fought back to bring themselves up to four, ending with an 8-4 lead for Team Secret established at the beginning of the second half. Fracture's latter half was a back-and-forth battle on both ends, with a mounting comeback for Paper Rex on the horizon. A 1v2 post-plant clutch by DubsteP at 11-9 brought the Filipino side up to match point, ending PRX's comeback attempts with a 13-11 scoreline of their own.

Absolutely filthy.

The final map, Split, opened with an early start for TS once more, starting off 5-2. PRX would take the remainder of the half to their favor, ending off with an ace for Jinggg to seal a 7-5 lead for Paper Rex. Entering their attacking side, Secret were able to equalize and regain control of the map, snatching seven rounds to Paper Rex's two to enter match point, concluding with a 13-10 victory for Team Secret, ending the SEA showdown.

Day Two finished off with a Japan vs. Korea matchup, bringing on Gen.G Gen.G Korea Rank #2 Munchkin Byeon Sang-beom (변상범) t3xture Kim Na-ra (김나라) Meteor Kim Tae-O (김태오) Lakia Kim Jong-min (김종민) Karon Kim Won-tae (김원태) to take on DetonatioN FocusMe DetonatioN FocusMe Japan Rank #5 Medusa An Min-cheol (안민철) neth Yusuke Matsuda Meiy Ibuki Seki SSeeS Tomonori Okimura Anthem Yoshitaka Enomoto . Lotus, the first map, started with DFM taking the lead 7-5 on the half, yet an insurmountable defense by Gen.G in the second half brought a 13-8 victory for Korea.

Talk about a way to begin a match.

Fracture brought a roster swap for Gen.G, fielding eKo in place of Sylvan on the initiator role. A fiery start from Suggest and a 1v3 from newfound IGL Anthem brought DFM up to an 8-4 lead at the half. Flipping the tide of map one's second half, DFM went undefeated in their defense to ultimately take the second map 13-4. DFM's victory on Fracture also marked their first win of the split, bringing Gen.G to a third map.

Pearl, the decider, brought Sylvan back onto Gen.G, where he also made his first ever debut onto Skye. Gen.G were able to win the opening pistol, a first for the series, yet was unable to stop DFM from snatching the lead back from right under their nose, as DFM finished the half 7-5 once more. It seemed to be a destined repeat of Lotus however, with Gen.G once again going almost undefeated in the second half to sway the series back in their favor in a 13-8 fashion, ending the hope for DFM to pick up their first series.

Day Three:

The final match of the week culminated in Asian titans DRX DRX Korea Rank #1 stax Kim Gu-taek (김구택) BuZz Yu Byung-chul (유병철) MaKo Kim Myeong-gwan (김명관) Foxy9 Jung Jae-sung (정재성) BeYN Kang Ha-bin (강하빈) taking on the South Asian hopefuls Global Esports Global Esports Asia-Pacific Rank #44 blaZek1ng Gary Dastin Lightningfast Abhirup Choudhury Polvi Niko Polvinen Benkai Benedict Tan Russ Russel Mendes . DRX were deemed as the heavy favorites heading into the match, only exacerbated by continued visa issues on the behalf of SkRossi and Lightningfast , leaving them unable to play for a second week in a row.

Bazzi was brought back in once again to fill in for SkRossi for the series. On the side of DRX, Foxy9 was brought back in, this time taking the place of Zest .

Map one began on the bread and butter for DRX, Haven. An early pistol win for GE bled into a 4-2 advantage back to DRX, with both teams subsequently trading rounds for the remainder of the half, with DRX establishing the lead 7-5 at the end of their defensive side. A second pistol and followup for GE could not surmount DRX's attacking side, contributed to by Foxy9's 30-bomb by the end of Haven, finishing off in a narrow 13-11 win for DRX.

Split was brought on for map two, picked by Global Esports. DRX won the opening pistol, but was responded to with a thrifty clutch by t3xture , leading to a 5-2 lead for GE. Fighting back on the defense, DRX clawed back to a 6-6 score at halftime. DRX were first to reach match point, however GE managed to scrape their way to overtime at 12-10, giving the Pacific a first taste of extended play. Responding back to Foxy9's 30 kills on the map prior, Monyet dropped 31 kills in regulation. Both teams initially traded blows in OT, it would be DRX who ultimately took Split, winning 2-0 with a 17-15 scoreline. Meanwhile, Monyet broke the record for most kills on a VCT LAN, dropping 39 kills — one above fellow Indonesian xffero .

The Indonesian young star ran circles around DRX on Split.

Week Two of the VCT Pacific has established that now, it might just be anybody's game. With only two teams standing at 1-1, and the remaining eight at either 2-0 or 0-2, the standings are still up for grabs as several underdogs have proven their worth to the top teams. RRQ will take on DFM in the Week Three opener, giving one team a first win, while Gen.G will battle out Team Secret to make one of the two find a first defeat.
