they gets points each split (at least they do in Americas and European VCLs), and whoever has most points by the end of both splits will qualify to ascension (unsure of how many spots each region gets, in Americas its rumored to be 2)
The one who wins challengers goes to ascension where teams from various regional splits will fight for the crown to ascend to Tier 1 aka franchised league for 2 years
Instead of making another thread im going to just ask on this one, what happens if a team that made it into tier 1 thru ascension wins champions? Do they got back to the ascension league or does riot have rules in place to keep that team in tier 1? Does the team just get poached or?
in context of the americas (NA/LATAM/BR) The top 3 teams from the playoffs later this year (you get into playoffs by gaining circut points thru S1, MSI, and S2) from each challengers league go to the ascension tournament and the winner of that tourney gets a slot in the franchise league.
