I was just thinking about this today after seeing the news of Sumail suing EG.
Pakistan has SumaiL who won The International and a decorated player besides that.
India has no one who has achieved anything at the international stage except when an Indian team(with the fat sova player from VLT I think Kappa?), played at some CSGO Major in 2014 because they lucked out with spots.
Interesting to think about.

SumaiL is the same case though no? Moving to a different country at a relatively young age? Maybe his parents thought he is gonna get a decent job in Canada regardless so they let them play games in school?

I don't think anybody in India has a decent gaming PC in school unless your dad is earning more than 1.5 lack per month or something which is like 2% of the country.

If you did research a bit, Saahil Arora, won TI5 along with SumaiL. And there are many Indian origin playing in NA rn.
And also we have a R6 major player who made it to 2021-22 LAN. It's just that they go unrecognized in the community. I can assure you I have a team and we are working towards promoting underrated games in the country through SM.
