VALORANT was the most watched Shooter game on Twitch during the Year of 2022

VALORANT had 1.126 Billion hours watched, while CS:GO in 2nd, had 684.75 Million hours

What the CS frogs don't understand is that valorant appeals to a much wider audience.

Before valorant was released only the sweaty gamers played CSGO in my uni. Other guys just played single player story based games.

Since valorant has released I have seen a lot of people start gaming with valorant as their first game and probably the first time girls have started to participate in such huge numbers.

Makes sense that it has a much higher viewership number cause there are a lot of content creators that play valorant and this is not restricted to gaming channels.
Even creators who originally did comedy sketches are streaming valorant on the side.

yes i mean riot is super smart to get rid of terms like bomb terrorist/antiterrorist makes the game so much more sponsor friendly. They also use an art style that's timeless like league. They also involved lots of content creator and make the game more accessible to bunch of casual audience. Asian gamers love games where you have a lot of abilities see like moba/overwatch. Its really smart marketing from them, like they know how to make a game popular worldwide.

Yeah riot have a huge opportunity in their hands.
the only issue is they need to try and balance all the different aspects of the game.
esports and casual players often clash over what they want, any major decisions could easily alienate a group

???? are u referring to the HLTV top 20? or the award show? the award show is just an extension of the HLTV top 20, which has existed for 10 years now. the difference is that this year, they're trying to show more recognition to role players rather than just star players. we always wanted to know who was the best at their role despite shit stats, like the anchor of the year, and HLTV is addressing that. it has nothing to do with shit like viewership stats or anything

Doesn't matter, in the long run valorant is get up for success far better than CS, now CS is not going to die, suckers like u and hltv frogs will claw to that game like it's their life and it's not like CS is a bad game(I'll be lying if i said I didn't like the game, i use simple's eDpi and posture for godsake). But valorant is still set up for success better, the active Devs itself put it above cs but then u have the appeal to other genders(cause guess what women make up 48% of ur population), the abilities being far easier to use therefore having a lower barrier for entry, the lore actually being good lately, and valorant's widespread popularity outside of the Western sphere (like seriously I have never seen a PC game ever set a foothold like this in india ever, ppl buy pcs now just to play valo, i thought that was impossible just a few yrs ago)and riots approach to marketing and esports will probably make valorant the king for gaming behind lol, or atleast it has the potential too. OFC riot can fumble it but seeing league I'm pretty confident in valorant being the dominant eSports FPS for the 20s

Nah...with only 2 years, Valorant has already many unexpected result in their major event
Nuturn Gaming can be in 3rd place in their first LAN event
X10 eliminated ENVY/OPTIC in the group stages
KRU eliminated SEN also in the group stage
Zeta DIvision and Paper Rex story
LOUD getting grouped after being finalist from the previous event

Profitable tier 1 scene
LANs every week
25 regional tier 2 leagues with 200-250 orgs participating
Developing esports world-wide
Women's friendly
High quality production
Based sponsors (big frogs, unlike betting or crypto companies in cs joe)

Valorant esports is already on top. The question is will it surpass LOL or not coz cs:go is not a true rival anymore.

No it's not enough, if you win both pistols your chance to win the whole map is already like 70-80%, even if you're not that good on gun rounds. Winning a lucky clutch can also decide an outcome, even if the other team is overall more consistent.

At least CSGO requires 16 rounds to win so that kinda balances it out. 13 is a joke.

x10 eliminating envy was literally lowkey one of the most unexpected thing

sentinels are ass, were ass, only performing in the beginning when there was barely any scene

zeta had one of the luckiest streak, considering they had to win 4 rounds in row to get to ot, to not get eliminated vs a brazilian team

paper rex story has been so often in csgo, even in the beginning of it there were lots of those teams who pulled an upset

loud getting grouped literally was whatever, they had a equal opponents so had ofc a hard time to win anything :) unlucky group seeding

Nah...you just caught you dont follow the scene eh? SEN literally win everything in NA in 2021, best team in NA at that time. They went to champions as one of the favorite of the tournament. yet they get grouped.

Paper rex never good enough to participate in any CS GO major. If we talk about Asian team (not OCEANIA) in CS GO, we only knew Tyloo and maybe IHC esports.

we talk about expected and unexpected result. story from Zeta and Optic were unexpected results...majority predict the opposite results at that time...

Thats why CS GO is boring for me because it was dominated by one regions.

The perception among most gamers is CSGO is a hardcore competitive title. I’m sure people play it casually but, CSGO is definitely not viewed as such.
