I wouldn't say favorites but they have a pretty loved player and they made a reverse sweep ( it only happened once before today) and no drx was kinda the underdog of the korean region

edit: sorry my english suck most of the time it is not my native language

there are 4 teams, three korean and one from china, the favorites to win the whole tournament are Gen G and T1, drx can make into finals by winning Gen G next sunday

JDG(China) and T1(Faker) are the favorites to win and they are playing each other next week in semis and maybe Gen G, DRX are kinda having a cinderella run but you love to see it

I feel like GenG are more of the favorites to win then T1. T1 has Faker and shit, but

Zeus>>Doran (Zeus second best top laner in the world)
Oner<Peanut (Peanut is better I think)
Faker<<Chovy (No offense Faker isn't washed it's just that Chovy is too good)
Guma<<Ruler (Ruler contender for best adc)
Keria>>Lehends (Keria is a fucking god there is nothing else too it)

On paper GenG has the stronger team, but if they both make it to the finals we will see

Im a big chovy fan but he aint even the best performing mid left at worlds rn. He might even be third behind zeka and faker. Its all about current form and t1 are in better form. If they beat jdg I think they go all the way

I don't really think that Faker is performing better than Chovy did in the quarters. Guma and Zeus have kinda been smurfing in the Quarters game. I didn't watch all of it so my insights prob not the best. Zeka is playing so well rn tho. Ngl DRX might beat GenG with this current state cuz their entire team is smurfing.

hmm idk tbh but its close between faker and chovy. But there were 2 games in quarters where chovy seemed useless late game while faker had a clean sweep and was important in all 3 games. I love chovy but he really needs to step it up more in semis even if they are favorites to win. The real banger match up is JDG vs T1, both title contenders meeting in semis

Chovy was kinda inconsistent, but on the games he won he was hard carrying. Idk

no, favorites are T1 and Gen.G. DRX was thought to be the 2nd worst team in playoffs.

worlds quarter finals. it's like champions but for league of legends. drx pulled off one of the greatest bo5 comeback in history. and one of their player deft won against EDG (his former team and last year winner) to get into semis for the first time since 2014 and it's probably his last worlds.

DRX won and reverse-swept the world champions, EDG.

But the bigger news is that Deft, a veteran player, finally made it past the quarterfinals after nearly 10 years. He said that this might be his last worlds before retiring, so this win is big for him.

oh it's also his birthday.

The story begins with Deft.

This guy is not only a pro player, he actually came from the same high school as the GOAT Faker. He has had insane performances in his role, arguably Top 2 in his role in history.
He has won pretty much everything there is to win in League, except for 1 trophy: Worlds.

Within recent years Deft has always gotten knocked out in Quarters, and as he grows older, he has less time to play. He will have to serve in the military soon.

What's more, his opponents, EDG, were his old team. Scout and Meiko were two of his old teammates, and they won Worlds last year. To Deft, this is more personal. He's happy they won, but sad he wss not there with them when they did.

DRX are also notorious for not making it past Semis. Before Worlds, they did not have many expectations as the LCK's lowest seed and their players were not the best even within the region.

This game had a LOT riding on it.
Game 1: DRX take a lead, but due to some lategame misplays, EDG take the game.

Game 2: DRX once again take a lead, but BARELY lose due to a fraction of a second, that costs them the game. (Basically, Deft was about to win the game but a structure respawned that made him unable to destroy the enemy base by just one mouse click)

Game 3 & 4: DRX are on elimination point, but somehow claw back wins.

Game 5: DRX's midlaner, Zeka, pops the fuck off and solokills Scout not once, not twice, not even thrice, but FOUR times and picks up a Quadra to end the game.

This is the 2nd time a reverse sweep has happened ever. Over 10+ years of Worlds.

Oh, and did I forget to mention it's also Deft's birthday?
