Recently was travelling in a train along with two of my friends, we met another group of people our age on the train. We got to talking and I was surprised to know nearly all of them played or atleast knew about Valorant. Plus most of guys in my class know about it as well even if they arent aware about the esports side. I think its easily the most known pc game in india, what about your country?

In my class they only know pubg and free fire when I tell them about valorant they think I'm talking about Arena of Valor

No one is passionate about it too much. I know there's only 6 people playing in Immortal lobbies, and few people play sometimes here and there. Gaming in general here is yet to gain the popularity it has in the rest of the world.

In my case most of my friends and schoolmates know about valorant......but the problem is more than 90% of them don't follow eSports at all

Isn't that usually a good thing? In my country as well the casual playerbase is huge as well. The more the casual playerbase the better it is for the game's health. If riot does things right from 2022 with T2 tourneys Esports fans will grow as well.

Very popular. There are university tournaments, even municipalities set up valorant teams.

Obviously everyone knows what Valorant is, but CS is way more popular game in comparison. Pretty much every person I know who have tried playing Valorant have eventually switched back to CSGO.

casual play is fairly popular. not as popular as CS i think but it's not that far off.
most of my friends who I played cs with switched to valorant at some point, some are switching rn.

Pro play i feel like almost no one cares about (probably since we don't have a Virtus.Pro'ish team for Valorant :/)

Nope. Mobile gaming in India is way too popular among the lower strata of society. Go to a govt school and everyone will know about pubgm but nobody would have heard about Valorant

not so popular in UK and Belgium compared to many other games

So basically Val is Popular in Asia (SEA and APAC except Korea ig) Brazil, NA(?), Turkiye while the rest of Europe doesn't like it. I should also add South America to the list as I remember KRU Valorant having a crazy fan following

exceptions like you don't invalidate my point since I'm talking about the majority
wanna verify it go play bronze elo again on mumbai server and ask people if they know anything about valo esports

also most known pc game in India is Minecraft followed by CS(all iterations combined)

In Germany a lot of German streamers stream it every week (like EliasN 40k subs) but most of them are silvers and their fanbase is younger
So you find a lot more Germans on EU servers than 1-2 years ago but not many of them are into esport

In ASIA you will see more people know about the game but less people know about eSports scene
In NA and EU not much people know, but when they know most of them follow the eSports scene

the national university level tournament by Amazon had a grand total of 2 teams in there(my team included) , so yea, i think that says it all about italy and esports
