"Also, it annoys me when platchat nerds present 'Oh, sideshow said this' as a shield to their argument." Has anyone ever actually said anything like this? Most of the posts I see are always clowning on plat chat preds on this site.

They're podcast is made to be entertaining and talk about the game they are invested in. They've always openly said not to take their predictions or power rankings too seriously and that it will all probably be wrong. They also often call each other stupid for wrong takes like this. And, I mean, if you don't judge teams based on what you analyze or see in the moment then what is even the fucking point of predicting?

Also, we forget that Trace was literally in 7th but Bren single-handedly put them in 5th because they decided to let him have a free spot change because he got something right in the past.

OW too, and a lot of fighting games (especially in the past)

I also don't buy the Korean eventual domination narrative, but they still do notably well in a lot of esports.

posted 5 months ago

nah. Grand finals may be boring, but most matches were pretty entertaining.

posted 5 months ago

they dominate in way more than 1 esport. Just not as much in fps games.

I was on ur side then I realized u might actually be racist.

I don't think the crowds are as hype, but everything you talked about still happens in non APAC crowds. I like this current one better than most tho

i mean any team can get burnt out, but also this core has been steadily improving for so long we can probably afford them some faith to not fall off like some others. who knows tho

your looking at the wrong viewer numbers friend

The Guard is one of the few orgs G2 can claim they actually have better management then

surely we're not deadass right... he PROVED he was the best in NA last year...?

are you an alt? What just happened...

posted 5 months ago

on channel points? bro u can't bet more than 250k. why are u even lying about this?

posted 5 months ago

please do stop playing it. did you know there are canonical gay relationships between the agents? you should quit.

posted 5 months ago

you should quit the game then. Please do, actually. never come back

posted 5 months ago

The explanations and rationale behind the agent creation/abilities is the best part. Don't care about the showmatch.

They could make a video, but most people would also never watch it.

Still prefer if they just skipped to the match because its 3 am for me, but whatever.

I like the design :)

posted 5 months ago

ok but vlr is stupid. vlr itself admits its stupid.

Hindsight Harry's STILL going off about this. Why were you watching these vods anyway?

People can be wrong, things can change, the world moves on. When even the Pacific talent they brought on weren't supremely high on the region it probably only cemented what they thought.

They don't take themselves super seriously anyway, and I think a panel full of Sliggy's a every analyst would get incredibly boring very fast. I like Sliggy, but sometimes you need more explosive, hot, or passionate takes to spice things up.

Leaf aint humbling anybody buddy. (G2 still winning tho)

L elitism

Then sure, if he continuously plays poorly and the team places poorly then they'll probably swap him out eventually. A lot of ifs though.

posted 5 months ago

1%. They won champs and would still have placed well in this tournament even if they lose to T1. They'd have him ride out 1 or 2 more tournaments before risking a change.

posted 5 months ago

I really think T1 might reverse sweep G2 in the finals after they get done shitting on EDG

posted 5 months ago

How'd they piss EDG off tho? They were being rather polite

posted 5 months ago

pretty sure achillios and paperthin are casting it tho

posted 5 months ago

objectively.... am i being trolled?

posted 5 months ago

you know you have no right to clown on a team when you have to preface it with a "it's just a funny VLR post" disclaimer

posted 5 months ago

honestly with the clips it'd create it's probably a W for them just like the "KRU go on a run thing" was

posted 5 months ago

or they just want an actually close match

posted 5 months ago

Bro what? we just bullying random people now?

posted 5 months ago

nah ur fucked buddy

posted 5 months ago

nothing

posted 5 months ago

nobody dropped tho

posted 5 months ago

what if its actually china that has mind control on emea/americas...?

posted 5 months ago

i see. you forget some people on this site are that stupid tho. I always expect the worse from vlr chatters

good old days? mf that was last year. Like 5 months ago

Demon1 played Astra and Brim during champs, though? How is that so different from Omen. And besides, he played 2 total maps of Omen. And, shocking, in a Raze meta he was expected to try Raze. As a top duelist, he should've been able to adapt. Just like if the meta shifted to a duelist Derke was worse on after the team was formed, he would still be expected to play it, get better, and remain a top duelist.

I do think with hindsight Demon1 is obviously less flexible than Derke, but this is hindsight once again.

NRG, Sentinels with Sacy/Pancada, Lev last year, these are all teams that you could—and many did—consider a superteam. Even if you don't think they personally were a superteam, their results did not match up with the loads of firepower that they had.

Sort of embarrassing that I can only remember America's "superteams" off the top of my head, but point still stands. Firepower can disappoint and does not always equal success.

posted 5 months ago

Demon1 didn't play random roles. He played primarily duelist, with a few controllers mixed in on certain maps—just like he did in EG when they were winning. And Victor was the only one you could MAYBE argue to be a weak link in the roster, but even he was a Masters winner and was at least pretty good. Crashies, Marved, Demon1, and Ethan all had incredibly high prospects and a lot of firepower.

posted 5 months ago

Have you seen these kind of super teams play before? Their is like a 60% chance that they just suck, don't mesh, all look worse, and disappoint everyone.

posted 5 months ago

I think he just means they way overperform in all BO5's, not that their map pool is built for it.
Idk why he thinks G2's not built for it tho

posted 5 months ago

a team being 7th or 8th worst at an event aint a distinction worth arguing about
