how is this even fair?

It's fair because the government there only approved the release of Valorant in China this january

It's fair because Riot has only been giving China chances to compete internationally since last Champs

It's fair because they're the only country in the world who is 3 years behind in experience

even their game vs PRX after they qualified to champs was close af too

HELL YEAH WE THE OG EDG FANS

posted about 2 years ago

Let's be real, EDG was always a good team and it was obvious only if you watched their matches. People only seeing their stats and the fact they've not won don't realise how close their matches are and some of the great plays they make

Gotta love the sportsmanship from TL and how highly they thought of EDG. Even nats thinks EDG are great team and can make a deep run in lower bracket

Wait you might be right watching this rn he is really biased against EDG wtf

Nah sideshow the goat caster

EDG has always been a good team, even back when they played against PRX and 100T. Not a cinderella run imo.

Fax, wasn't expecting to hear this from a Liquid flair. Studying the enemy are we ;)

posted about 2 years ago

No my point was that they do use strats, maybe not as much vs NAVI but their game vs T1 was an excellent display of a more tactical style

posted about 2 years ago

Sliggy had said that if the names were taken away he'd think EDG were NRG with the way they were midrounding and manipulating the rotates. But yeah, we'll have to see. I see EDG vs Liquid as a 50/50 imo.

posted about 2 years ago

Although EDG do have insane mechanics, dont misunderstand them as a strat-less team. In fact Sliggy breaks down their playstyle here and they have incredibly good midrounding on par with NRG, their attacks are very slow and methodical, with aggressive plays built on top.

Great timing on util and reads too

EDG vs LOUD
(KangKang vs Aspas)

posted about 2 years ago

Ngl I think EDG is just good at making other teams tilt and look bad especially when you're against a jett who pushes past your smokes and literally never misses an OP shot

cry

posted about 2 years ago

I live in UK and I though I dont really talk trash about EMEA I do hate the fans, espefially the NAVI ones - but I do think people are starting to underrate FNC

posted about 2 years ago

When a trophy and so much money is on the line they're not just gonna save strats bro that's dumb af. Chronicle just had an off day

posted about 2 years ago

Might be wild but I'm calling EDG 2-0 very close maps though

posted about 2 years ago

T1 almost beat NRG and EDG just demolished them I don't think NRG will so easily humble them ngl

posted about 2 years ago

As expected lets fucking go Edward

posted about 2 years ago

I need to see Aspas vs Kang kang bro

posted about 2 years ago

Well well well

posted about 2 years ago

suygetsu is half the reason they didn't lose earlier bro did you see his clutches on pearl?

posted about 2 years ago

?? haodong is the one keeping this team together, and he's still fragging out

posted about 2 years ago

this, his timing on using his util is criminally underrated

posted about 2 years ago

bro you got T1 beating EDG

posted about 2 years ago

oh damn it's a LAN?

posted about 2 years ago

Don't count out Haodong, he's insane

posted about 2 years ago

If it makes you feel better sure bro

posted about 2 years ago

you gotta be trollin

posted about 2 years ago

Honestly no, I think this team is perfectly fine as it is. Nobody still has incredible impact even though his stats aren't the best

posted about 2 years ago

China has only been allowed to play at internationals since last champs bro

posted about 2 years ago

it's a lot more entertaining though ngl

posted about 2 years ago

absolutely, their attacks were slow and methodical. Haodong is a very underrated igl, he had the perfect reads

posted about 2 years ago

there are tons of vods of china tournaments and teams have definitely used them to try and antistrat, but yeah everything else I agree with

posted about 2 years ago

Tbh let's not count out that EDG's tactical is also still excellent
They just build on top of that with aggressive plays, but not all the time

posted about 2 years ago

I also called EG winning vs DRX and EDG winning vs NAVI
Next EDG beats T1 in their rematch trust

posted about 2 years ago

No KK would just pushed the walls like he did against T1, he did better against viper + harbour honestly

You argue about the idea of it not being fair. If we really consider "fairness" then maybe you should consider the fact that the government has only just approved of valorant at the start of this year, and it still hasn't even released yet in China. This means they are 3 years behind the rest of the world, they clearly already have players with insane mechanics, decision making (kk, chichoo, life etc.) and the potential to be top contenders. All they need now is experience and international exposure until that's made a reality. Giving them less international chance is not gonna help with how they've not won any games yet - it'll do the opposite. And let's not forget that EDG did dominate the East Asia LCQ last year in order to qualify for Champions - they earned that, without dropping a single map to ONS (who's core is now GenG) and NTH who's been at a masters.
