meL did so good in game 1 that she bottom fragged game 2 and still match mvp'd the series

I definitely feel like OpTiC is gonna win but those odds are just flat out disrespectful to XERXIA...

unless Chamber gets nerfed, having him as your sentinel on every map is not only viable, but honestly quite strong.

fracture: chamber has a near 100% pick rate
bind: teams either run no sentinel or run a chamber
breeze: cypher and chamber have similar pick rates, obviously chamber would be preferred if your sentinel player is a strong OPer
split: chamber is the most played sentinel by far
icebox: chamber is the most played sentinel by far

on haven, all 3 sentinels are viable, with the most played being killjoy > chamber > cypher, but again, if your sentinel player is a strong OPer there's no reason not to have him play chamber. also, chamber's pick rate on haven has gone up to be about the same as killjoy's since the new controller changes

ascent is the only map where chamber doesn't really get played, since killjoy is considered almost a must pick on there. however, 100T could simply make ascent their permaban map if they want to avoid playing KJ, and the issue would be solved.

if they decide to not permaban ascent they have 3 options:

  1. go against the meta and just play chamber over KJ anyways, which would keep the roles basically solidified and avoid forcing players to flex to new agents just for one specific map
  2. have bang play KJ with Asuna flexing to KAY/O
  3. have Asuna/WARDELL play KJ and the other play jett, sacrificing either Asuna's entry fragging or WARDELL's OPing

no? just like how in other regions in 2 slots, the lower final and grand final are both bo5, this one should be too. i don't think all elimination matches should be Bo5, but when it's both an elimination match AND a qualification match, it should be

2 teams fighting for the last spot in an international LAN should be more worthy of a Bo5 then a match that decides which team gets the higher seed, no?

posted about 2 years ago

still doesn't make sense, this match is literally more important than the grand finals since PRX already qualified and it's just for seeding

posted about 2 years ago

why is this not a Bo5 when it's a qualification/elimination match?

that 0.02 seconds really cost them huh?

if they do both changes, I wonder what roles would be like on maps where they decide to run double controller, unless they decide to not run double controller at all?

they could potentially just run Ethan as a solo controller on every map, have Derrek play Sage on Split/Fracture, and run double initiator on every other map

posted about 2 years ago

what I said above is still a possibility if the team decides to keep jcStani and not sign Derrek

posted about 2 years ago

not saying it necessarily should/will happen, but this is a possibility for 100T:
-Hiko +Wardell

and honestly, the roles would still actually make sense, here's how they could potentially play out (assuming this is the only move they make)

assuming single controller:
Wardell - Chamber on every map (he already basically did this on TSM)
Asuna - Jett on Ascent/Haven/Breeze/Icebox, Raze on Bind/Split/Fracture (won't have to op on Jett except for double op defensive setups)
jcStani - Omen/Brim/Viper on every map (I honestly don't think 100T will run Astra on any maps)
bang - Skye/Breach/KAY/O on every map
Ethan - Sova on Ascent/Breeze/Icebox, either Sova or Skye on Haven/Bind, Sage on Split/Fracture

double controller maps:
if running Sova: jcStani on Viper, bang on Omen/Brim, Ethan on Sova
if running a different initiator: jcStani on Viper, Ethan on Omen/Brim, bang on Skye/Breach/KAY/O

Asuna could also play Reyna over Jett on Breeze/Icebox if the team thinks he can get more value out of Reyna than Jett

give your top 5 individual players in the NA pro scene right now and if you want, give short explanations for why

my personal list might be unpopular, feel free to disagree but let's keep it civil:

  1. XSET Cryocells
  2. C9 leaf
  3. OpTiC yay
  4. GUARD Sayaplayer
  5. GUARD trent

just missed: V1 penny (great player but imo a little inconsistent compared to the top 5)
honorable mention: V1 zander (I personally think that he is the best controller player in NA, but can't necessarily take over a game the same way these players can, through no fault of his own obviously)

tundra 3-2 alliance

or 2-1 if it's a bo3

posted about 2 years ago

why the downfrags? he was pretty close LMAO

posted about 2 years ago

obviously SEN can still beat V1 and that would change the rankings... but as of right now V1 has proven more than SEN has in the current meta, and getting crushed 2-13 on your own map pick is not a great look for SEN...

although it's still groups, so who knows what will happen

? they beat optic (who beat sen btw)

posted about 2 years ago

i honestly like your pool selection better than mine in terms of actual balancing, I'm just not sure if Riot will actually make considerations/reallocations based on region strength until after VCT 2021 ends, which is why I didn't take past performance into account.

let's see what happens!
