that's why i put the note of them having time to rest
i know im super late but i thought id give some thoughts on the playoff toronto teams going into ewc and the rest of the year. obviously not gonna include grouped teams because it wasn't as recent
---------------------------
xlg: lowkey unsurprising result, even without knowing they picked up an initiator who can't comm in the same language (why???). probably will have similar results at ewc, but i hope they rebound to make champs
rrq: honestly not even that bad. they lost to #2 and #3 placing teams, and gave fnatic their worst loss out of any of the maps they played. perhaps with enough time they can look really good, but id argue they have a chance to get to paris and aren't straight tejo merchants. please put jemkin on yoru though for the love of god
gen.g: could've won the tournament like shanghai but they choked so badly. it was the g2 game that really showed how losing more experienced players like meteor and lakia really hurt the mental game for gen g. im confident they'll be back for champs, maybe even with a chance to win
sen: ive seen people citing gen g as the team with the worst mental at toronto but imo sentinels were way worse. straight up collapsed after losing big rounds and sometimes never recovered in the map. they'll be fine for the rest of the year, but I wouldn't be surprised if toronto ends up being their peak this year
g2: all i could see from g2's gameplay is that it wasn't trent who was the tejo merchants, it was g2. maybe it was due to the bye (i still think that's cope) but they looked way more shaky without the ability to play stall post-plants. granted they are a top team but that's no different from last year. i have serious doubts they have the potential to win champs
wolves: their run definitely gives off zeta reykjavik vibes, but i think with the state of CN as a region currently they are the #1 team and should be favored to win stage 2 and make champs. their only competition is edg atm and they have time to rest and prep during ewc
fnatic: this team is still in trophy contention status, and their run was truly great, but i do think the finals performance showed some of the bigger flaws this team has with performance issues. not just boaster but kaajak needing more time to adjust to high pressure scenarios, and crashies playing a lot worse than he did in emea. but, they should win stage 2 comfortably, and im sure they'll do well at champs
prx: they won, so im not gonna say much except that they will have more pressure on them regionally and at champs (they basically already made it off of points).
not by a lot, maybe like 1 or two places higher. he won titles at a time when the game was more developed. i think if tenz had kept playing this year he would be higher
riot's main audience is asia, due to the existing infrastructure of league. they will never have the foothold valve has in the west with cs, except maybe in na because the scene is dead
nrg abuser in top 10 is crazy work icl
that was a thing? i thought shanghai had an mvp
i mean yeah but they don't even have the easiest group. idk how people don't look at group c and not think that's the weakest group. sentinels at least have to play drx (and maybe bbl if they aren't trolling), c has two teams that went 0-2 at toronto and two teams that haven't even made an event this year
double controller been meta for two years man
also below mako, who idk how tf is in the top 10, never won a trophy
fnatic is like the second best team itw right now. this group shouldn't bother them anyway, they can beat edg and 100t. if they don't make it out of this group you can just chalk it up to lack of time to prepare/burnout from toronto. no need to plan a strategy for coping
it was t3xture no?
he got something but i dont recall what if it was a bracelet or not
well i guess when nrg does well verno doesn't so there's that
pretty sure they decided on him by trials. hvoya lurks on vlr so he would prob be able to answer that
i feel like a lot of players could play that supportive role though
and yes, the aim part as you mentioned
i swear people be saying this like the person who was replaced wasn't deadass their worst player
0/8 bait m8 try again next time
i dont think tl could beat wolves after what i saw today. prx nearly throwing that lead aside they looked really bad for most of the series
honestly i think that changes should happen, but liquid went from missing out on every event last year to making both so far (minus ewc). from a results based standpoint they prob keep the roster. if i was the gm tho i would be actively searching from replacements for at least serial. they need someone with more firepower
the reality is that there's a 90% chance rarga beats the shit out of sen
i got jemkin and monyet on my vfl team so they better cook
yeah but wolves didnt make it cause im pretty sure they wanted to save strats. you can see rn that they are better in this meta than tejo meta
i mean there's like one chinese team that always makes it out of groups though no? or is that only for champs
he's just always like this. i dont even know why, nova are like middle to bottom of china at best
i would want my sova to be playing with my team for the retake? he does this like every map brother
but he is a baiter? guy got the kill on pati that round because he was sitting in spawn while aspas was fighting site. he's good mechanically but hes a baiter
yeah but then he just looks nervous af when he was shooting the round after
someone please explain to me why he is so consistently shit. he doesn't even seem like a bad player, just whenever he's being shown he either whiffs or just looks lost
nah im ngl blg was their only hope at this tournament anyway. wolves have hard path out of groups and xlg have no lan experience plus a new player so blg was always china's only hope
idk but im immo 2 rn and the only thing he said was buy rrq bundle so i assumed it was val cause why would a league player say that
got someone on my team with MSICan202581#0000 today. is this one of the pro accounts for toronto? i vaguely remember something like this for champs so i was just curious if anyone knew if this was the case or who this was. im guessing rrq because he had the classic but idk
I fw natank but he folded under zero pressure. Why make the tweet in the first place
It was an issue in LPL in like 2018 or something iirc. Not sure if it’s still a problem
This is just… the definition of scrim sharing?
Subjectively, since there no way to know if he’s being real with the ultimatum. Personally I believe if a man stakes his career on something he’s telling the truth, but I wanted to represent both side of accusations.
Sorry, should have clarified. If someone accuses teams of scrim sharing, Riot and a third party should investigate. Blizzard did this with OWL years back. This whole he said she said bullshit is a waste of time, and accountability from both sides is required
Ngl while this is entertaining as fuck, it’s definitely gotten out of hand. Without any credible evidence frost looks like a crybaby and termi looks like a liar. Riot should enforce rules against scrim sharing , but any matters should be private, not publicized through rumours
Also mods crack down on the shitty baiters, please, you know who I’m referring to
Half of the initiators in Americas + regular season merchant unfortunately
Brother you’ve done the Sacy bad bait 300 times by now. Give it up
