To think that Lakia, the best performing player on NUTURN, is a sub on VS, shows how stacked VS is in terms of skill.

well he hit some bangers just now.

Higher seed gets first map pick

VS (KR #1) vs ACE (EMEA #3)

posted about 2 years ago

VS overrated btw. Granted it was their map pick, but VS looked insane. All the discipline, composure, set plays, they were a fucking delight to watch.

Ah yes, back to this shit again. JP may potentially be the weakest region, but god damn do they rack in the viewership. Val is a new game, around a year and a half old so their esports scene is still growing. Since it's growing, viewership is growing too, and JP brings in insane numbers. Why take out the region that brings in the most viewers, just because GMB rolled CR? GMB is one of the best teams in the tournament, so them beating CR was inevitable. That badly? Maybe not, but god forbid acknowledging JP because of CR and not ZETA.

posted about 2 years ago

That's kapp, everyone was dissing ZETA and CR for losing their matches.

posted about 2 years ago

What an insane series, my heart needs a breather.

But i can't say that GMB didn't mentally crumble on icebox. That was a choke, holy god.

Holy fuck my heart

I need a breather.

That was a fucking insane series, but I can't say that GMB didn't mentally crumble on Icebox.

Slight mental boom from Gambit.

However they lost 13-1 on ascent against SMB in EMEA qual finals, then won 3-1 thereafter

So all hope is not lost yet. All it matters if Gambit can rally back for Split. Despite all of that, this match has been crazy so far.

posted about 2 years ago

Maturing is when you realize that CR didn't look that poor yesterday.

It's that Gambit are levels above anyone else.

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah so Gambit um.... looking really insane right now.

If they keep this up, they can potentially beat SEN and/or win Berlin.

posted about 2 years ago

Well G2 got kinda team diff'd

I mean it's SEN, the current world champions.

posted about 2 years ago

Buddy Riot isn't going to let Val become like CSGO, it's an entirely different game. What's the point of the oversaturation of all the good teams in one competition? It's better for minor regions to develop and get a fanbase.

posted about 2 years ago

Great try by ZETA, they made a monumental first step for Japan by winning a map, mad respect to them.

All things considered, this was a very entertaining game. Might've not been the tactically soundest of games, but all the clutches and plays were super fun to watch. Big ups to ZETA for a fun Split map.

Like I said before the Bren exclusion:

I like G2, I think their players are very good, especially nukkye, avova, and mixwell, and their showing against F4Q was pretty good.

But you can't deny that SEN looks way better on paper.

SEN 2-0 G2

buddy ZETA Division exists, and they haven't played yet, calm down before thinking that ZETA is on the same level as CR just because they are Japanese.

seed 4 actually. But you're right.

posted about 2 years ago

In the last hour, I've seen so many posts about how Riot is stupid for giving Japan 2 slots, and how undeserving they are.

First of all, ZETA Division - the best Japanese team - hasn't played yet, so i don't think 1 Japanese team is indicative to the second Japanese team, therefore 1≠ 2 if I learnt my math correctly. So watch them play against KRU tomorrow before having kneejerk reactions. Maybe they'll pummel KRU, maybe they'll get pummeled by KRU, who knows?

Second of all, yes CR got absolutely DEMOLISHED by Gambit, but it was to be expected that CR would lose? This badly? Maybe not, but come on, it is the EMEA #1 seed. They won their qualifiers for God's sake. They beat top EMEA teams to have this group, oh but it was "seeding matches" sO iT dOesN't maTTeR rIghT? CR is touted as a bottom 3 team in Berlin but the fact they made it here again is worth a lot.

Lastly, the viewership in Japan is INSANE. I remember watching the Japanese finals and they got more viewers than VS vs F4Q finals, a difference of almost 10K viewers. Valorant is a new game, being compared to CSGO in terms of viewership and how relatively mediocre it is. The Japanese viewers rack in a lot of the net amount of viewers from all platforms, so why kill the only thing that keeps Japan invested in Valorant by merging SEA/KR together? If no JP teams make it, that essentially decreases the viewership a lot. Riot is playing this smart by giving regions with bigger viewerships slots.

So is it worth giving Japan 1 slot, or merging regions together? No, because this is a growing game, and Japan needs more respect.

bro zeta hasn't played yet, calm down. Maybe they'll beat KRU tomorrow, and you'll be proven wrong.

Unlucky from CR.

I hope the players keep their heads up for the HL game, and do well at least.

posted about 2 years ago

well.......

nt.

Maybe if CR picked Split, instead of Icebox, there is a possibility for a close map 2 or a potential win, but GMB is very good on Icebox.

posted about 2 years ago

maybe if they picked Split, they would've

but gambit is pretty good on icebox.

an actual bold pick of CR beating HL

but why not ZETA beating VK?

Massive V1-CR vibes from this match.

Great showing from PRX, and I hope that people pay more attention to them more and don't think that VS is overrated/shit.

f0rsaken for sure

posted about 2 years ago

VS overrated? Ah yes, winning 13-9 makes you overrated, makes sense.

PRX doing good on their map pick? Oh no, PRX bad, and VS overrated.

These kneejerk reactions are stupid.

Edit: put some respect on PRX, and stop thinking that VS is overrated.

VS are looking fine dw, PRX looking good tho

ZETA: How does it feel to represent Japan as the only pure Japanese team on int'l lan? Is there a sense of national pride and drive to do well in masters 3 Berlin?

Vivo Keyd: Keyd was basically made from the "rejects" of top Brazilian teams. They were made from scratch, and was approximately 3 months ago, and since then, they've beaten the top 4 Brazilian teams (furia, gamelanders, sharks and vikings) in a miraculous lower bracket run, and got brazil #1 seed. How does it feel to have that achievement after the doubts surrounding them?
