i forget when exactly but there was an interview with potter and boostio where they discussed at length how structured their practice was (honestly, at the time I thought it was a little too much for the current state of the game but clearly it worked). NA Valorant, with teams like Optic, EG, and the ex-Guard roster is definitely very different from NA CS / LoL in terms of work ethic.
i don't think he does have that power. it's a decision involving a million-dollar investment by the company, the person doing what is essentially the PR for their product doesn't seem to me like somebody who would greatly impact it.
That's a valid concern but, unless I'm misunderstanding the situation, haven't the Guard already let go of their players (and paid their terminations)? They would then be F/As at the current moment without any attachments to the Guard so it would be impossible for the Guard to prevent another organization from acquiring the roster.
yeah, this is what I meant by "circumstances". I don't understand why they refuse to allow another organization to substitute their place in this situation.
I suppose the assumption here is that whatever org chooses to pick up the Guard players would be paying money to the Guard through buyouts. I think it's ridiculous to believe that is equivalent to "buying a slot", however.
I think, here, it's best to have an exception where this is allowed due to the circumstances. In the future, there must be some legalese put into place that forces organizations to let go of players for reasonable prices if they are unable to participate in the ILs post-ascension
This situation has been handled horribly by Riot games and does not bode well for the stability and growth of the vitally important T2 scene. It spells danger for the future.
I think they just got too comfortable and too obsessed with "perfection" which backfired and made them play worse
Fnatic making any changes is a horrible idea unless the chemistry is falling apart (in which case I think boaster should get the boot)
I think a replacement organization is the only possible answer here despite salary inflation and unsustainability.
RIOT could identify a list of financially stable organizations and allow the players to pick the one they want.
Allowing the players to compete as F/As would be impossible as ther would be no incentive to make roster changes (the rebates/team skins would literally be their salaries)
This is what I don't understand. The whole 2024 T2 system is based on the promotion of unsigned FA teams into challengers, how is it possible to not have a protocol for allowing these teams to ascend into franchised leagues??
I don't see how choosing not to have a team ascend is the best decision here? There's more than enough time to look for another org willing to take the spot and field the roster. I imagine it's a pretty desirable situation for any T2 org considering the benefits of franchising.
10 teams is a horrible and extremely embarrassing choice made by Riot.
The Hobbit is definitely my favorite fantasy book by far. I haven't read anything that compares to it. I'm unsure I ever will.
The LOTR books are great but there's definitely parts I wasn't as interested in. I think there is definitely some Brandon Sanderson I enjoy as much as, if not more than, LOTR.

HER system is the BEST in the world. Biggest achievement for a woman in a tac fps EVER. She built the most strategically deep, tactically diverse, and disciplined team in Valorant ever - only possibly rivalled by Gambit at their peak.
She brought players who nobody believed in (including me!) to the forefront from the DUMPS. She used a roster model thought of as a joke to create a monster.
