He seemed to really focus on the team chemistry and cohesion, which is probably what their number one issue was at the start of Kickoff. Seems like he really knows his shit

Idk I mean they qualified by being invited to closed quals where they only had to win 2 games, one of which was against another GC team. I feel like that's pretty on par with their showings in open quals in previous years

Since about 2022 people have been saying that it's only a matter of time till we see a full GC team that can at least compete in T2. But the undisputed best GC team of all time just bombed out of challengers with a 1-8 map record, clearly being a tier below the other challengers teams in arguably the weakest year of NACL in a while.

Obviously florescent made it to T1 and has looked really good, but she'd always looked in a different league to the other GC players. The scene on the whole still looks as far behind T2 as it was in 2022. Why is this?

I mean Spirit aren't owned by any sanctioned oligarchs and moved their operations out of Russia and were able to survive in other esports where teams like Empire and Gambit fell apart, plus have been outwardly against the invasion of Ukraine, and have Ukrainian players. I feel like Riot would feel ok about associating with Spirit, especially considering how fast the org is growing with their CS success

I'd probably go with

-C9 +DarkZero or Oxygen, C9 have been coasting on budget rosters for the better part of 3 years and they just don't seem interested in seriously competing in Valorant despite there being enough talent for them to assemble legitimately good rosters

-Furia +paiN or w7m, same thing as C9 really

-NRG +G2, the management seems extraordinarily hands off and seem to just let the players control the team completely, which lead to the 2023 roster underdelivering, the shit show that was the 2024 roster and the apparent benching of Verno and Bonkar

-LEV +9z. LEV have just abandoned being a LATAM team entirely and aren't even finding enough success to justify it. Plus they've completely fucked over 2 players now.

-BBL +Eternal Fire. BBL have actually put together a pretty decent roster this year but apparently they have some kinda questionable finances so it'd probably be better to have an org like EF (assuming no one would lose their job over it)

-GX +Team Spirit (assuming they'd field a Valorant team). I guarantee there isn't a single GX fan that isn't Spanish, and of those fans I think maybe 3 actually have GX as their favourite Spanish team. Plus they consistently field absolutely mid rosters

-KOI +MOUZ. KOI have just been fielding dogshit bottom of the barrel teams for 3 years now, and don't deserve the franchising slot over an org like MOUZ, who have been consistently fielding good T2 rosters and are a massive org in CS.

-ZETA +Fennel or SCARZ. ZETA have quite literally been riding off nothing but their Reykjavik run for years
