Okay, you want this to be constructive, right? I'll keep trying with you. It's weird you don't see my effort but okay...

If you agree with my stance on cronyism, then that presupposes your arguments about my experience. I hope you see that, right? That has to be our starting point. And so if the jobs are guarded, the closest anyone can get is as a player. The combination of characteristics needed to be a coach makes it extremely difficult to get into this position to be tested.

Obviously I'm not a professional player or in the t2 scene, but I'm old. You know how creepy it would be to try to get on a team as a player? To try to befriend a random 20 year old? You have to see that as almost impossible. Plus I have bills. Everything about the tier 2 scene cannot work with my current arrangement.

So both of my angles are blocked. You cannot apply for these jobs because I saw, those do not get responses. There's not a single person I've talked to about my situation who doesn't understand why I wouldn't have at least have got a "wtf is this" instead of nothing. Once again, you hit the nail on the head with the comment about the experience or clout. The purpose of the document being large was to make a splash. It did but with the wrong audience.

You have to also understand, that even at your level, you see a difference in your knowledge vs. the rest of the community. If you're smart enough to see the cronyism then you're smart enough to recognize that. So I hope that in that demonstration you can also see that there are levels above you. That there are things in this game that you don't understand. This is something one of the pros pointed out to me, the audience was wrong. And ofc I go the response I did from the community.

But I expected better from people who are in the know. People who understand that the game is not mechanical and it requires critical thinking. As someone who passed the California Bar Exam, I would hope that leans me in the direction of someone who understands critical thinking. One of the biggest points you need to understand that data by itself, is not enough. You need someone behind that data who is good at manipulating it to make it make sense. To be good at manipulating it you need experience. I have both qualities.

I'm not sure if you're into strategy as a intellectual subject but there are two figures that probably represent us in our argument fairly well.

https://mwi.westpoint.edu/clausewitz-is-from-mars-jomini-is-from-venus-why-context-matters-in-military-theory/

Just to quickly summarize, Jomini was someone who believed war was a matter of geometry and could be won with direct application of certain principles. Clausewitz was someone who was practiced at losing in war and saw it more as an art form.

The reason I'm bringing this up is that I think that you can sell people on the right way of doing things. People can be very persuasive for $100,000/year. It's the "trust the process" argument. The problem with this is that like in the Jomini and Clausewitz intellectual debate, at the end of the day war is chaotic. More data is always preferred. And that's why producing a 115 page document is not to share with the players. It's to have data readily available to interpret their successes and failures. I'm not sure how you feel about "solutions" but so often they require multiple perspectives over one. I don't know one successful company that is just a bunch of one man armies.

And in my professional and gaming life, I've never, EVER, ran into a situation where doing the bare minimum produced good results. I have also never seen someone overdo something. I have more than a thousand times seen friends, co-workers, acquaintances and family members give them self foot of rope after foot of rope trying to convince themselves that doing less is objectively better for them. It never is.

Ad hominem attacks the entire time and some how you're done with the conversation?

You feel like you're losing with this one?

And yeah I'm taking the moral high ground back from you. You are on the side of less work. Bro, why don't you practice less and tell me how that goes for you. Why don't you read less and let other people do your thinking. The one pager is seriously working right? Seeing real consistency out of these teams and trusting the process. It's alright sheeple, keep watching VCT decline in viewership in complete and utter bewilderment.

I believe everyone is scared to talk to me. I believe I represent what is slowly coming to light. Coaches are just friends of players with no actual contribution. I'm watching some of the most gifted aim-talent on the planet wasted on very dumb ranked ideas.

They deserve better. They should reach out to me.

Extraneous? Once again, you heard about 5 pages. I can tell you didn't read it. You are standing on ground like you think you have an argument. You passed up the table of contents. That says a lot about you.

Even if I entertained the idea that you read it, it was 70 pages of Rib.gg data that showed positional information. You can't get that data without a special license with Riot and cost me $100 to get a hold of a week before it was due. The idea that I would pass that up is insane. Extraneous? Are you using a thesaurus to talk to me?

What you don't get is that you're young. The world you see was different before you got here. I'm sorry if that's shocking to you.

If you wanna have a conversation, we can have one.

Your arguments about me "expressing myself" are comical. Have you ever been on the end of international infamy before? An international broadcast makes fun of you? Jokes made about something you put serious time into. This idea that I'm asshole is crazy. Someone told me they "skimmed my work" and then proceeded to be critical of it. Which caused a tidal wave of negative comments. And I'm the asshole? k.

It's wild how confident you are. You just assume you're correct because I type here on vlr. There's not a single person in this community who has heard me speak on this topic in real time. But it's okay for PlatChat to bring on all the people who "owned" me and parade them. Then do the same thing on the broadcast. I'm the asshole? Crazy. 150k+ people viewed VCTesports tiktok about me. All of them have not heard my side. This is textbook bullying and you're over here calling me the jerk.

I've been down this line of questioning.

Once again, you're trying to scratch at something that I've already scratched at. I know what you're trying get to get at. The problem is, in no world is a 25 world going to out coach someone who is older. An older person has more experience. Has more stories. Can compare things.

A 25 year old is still in the same boat as the players. Trying to figure the world out. You shouldn't get a salary while you're trying to figure out things. Org owners, I've met a couple, do not have the insight to spare with coaches and players. They are forced to trust the process. A process defined by those who stand to benefit from wasting their time.

And I'm not outing any players or coaches. People are too rabid. Too much fandom for people who got here first.

I think it would be cool to find a better balance on number of rounds. I would be open to anything that is sub-30 minutes.

posted about a year ago

I'm corporate and coach people all the time.

I also have an insight into what the players are going through. I know the limitations on time. People make fun of me for making huge documents, the reason is for them. Once they fall out of grace, it really sucks for them. They look to these coaches for help, they tell them to swap agents and do default smokes. Or dive in for a sub 50/50 fight. Coaches don't care about their brands. Coaches care that they make it to the next week with a job.

Nearly pro, 1.6 and Overwatch. At the time of 1.6, that was less attractive and meant something different. Choose school over 1.6 and Overwatch had some people half in and half out.

Random stranger on the internet knows me better than I know me. You ever do a Tarot card reading?

posted about a year ago

I've done all those things in the past. I've been a 20 year old trying to figure out strategy. I've been very close to pro a bunch of times and just couldn't get over the hump.

I'm dying a bit inside when I watch the games because its very clear the players need help with fundamental concepts. They all have mouse aim down. They all have the ability to be insane. They're just missing a coach to help them move in the right direction. Some day I'll get a chance. Or I won't. Life's weird.

Therapy session. Okay. I'm getting really weird feedback with my stuff. There are people in the community who are scared of you and how you feel. I'm not really one of those people. I know the entire community is wrong. I'm just entertaining myself trying to figure out a way to get you to understand. It's absolutely atrocious to watch the genre I love become this generic product where people just randomly say the word "protocol" and think they nailed it.

There are two people out there that are famous, that are highly regarded in the community but I can't get them to help. In fact, one person went the entire other way after you guys came after me.

I find it interesting. There's a lot of misconceptions about the agents. People expect them to play a certain way. It's fun to find out why those people are wrong.

I honestly with all my heart believe they should take their current ranked system and use swiftplay games instead. Valorant would be a much more pleasant experience. Leave the 45 minute games to tournament and premier games. Let the people enjoy the game.

posted about a year ago

Swfitplays really awesome for learning agents. You get a pistol, r2 save/eco and a bunch of gun rounds. Less people upset. Less time spent with throwers.

I don't rank if that's what you're looking for. I would rather drag my nuts through hot coals than engage with Riot's Ranked matchmaking.

Yes in pubs. You can do a lot of fun stuff in ranked. The person on the other end is face planting the keyboard.

Unfortunately, both guns have limitations. An Operator has a limited amount of ammo and a very slow recoil reset. The Outlaw has two bullets and then needs reload. A vandal has 25 bullets. A very old US marine once told me if I ever join the military to skip being a sniper. I hope you figure this out.

I love how this community just loves to try to take me down. It's super cute. Yal can barely read but have the confidence of a PhD scholar.

Harbor has the ability to re-create the map's angles. There is no other agent that can have the level of impact that he potentially can have. The professional use of Harbor is criminal. As if he replaces Viper... it's disgusting.
