Holy shit, something looked really bad this game. Paper Rex should definitely drop him, he looks like dead weight to the team. They should definitely go back to their old comp, they still seem like the top team in the Pacific

Mandatory note that this is sarcastic and a joke.

Damn, I wish I wasn't so good at predicting things the first time 💀

I was expecting Haven to be their weakest map, but man, I didn't expect them to fumble Fracture. Don't get me wrong, it is still one of their best maps, but they definitely need to start thinking of counterstrats, considering they have played this map for quite a bit.

Holy fuck dude, they need to ban Split and work on Pearl. This was just embarassing.

GES 2 - TLN 1
Can't believe I'm saying this, but Global Esports looks like the better team here. I would've predicted Talon if this would've been the first match of the season, but GE's current roster (excluding SkRossi and LightningFast) are looking really good that Talon needs to change something in their strategy.

ZETA 1 - 2 DFM
I'm going to choose DFM because I do think they can pull off some heroic plays when it matters, but this will be a pretty close fight nonetheless. Wouldn't be surprised if ZETA wins this, so make of that what you will.

T1 1 - 2 GEN
These teams are probably familiar with their strategies and playstyles, so I'm expecting this one to be a pretty close game. However, I do think Gen.G looks to be the better team between the two.

PRX 0 - 2 DRX
Adding something to Paper Rex should be interesting, seeing how alecks can implement him into the roster. Their Pearl performance was great, but DRX and Foxy9 have been performing so well I'm finding it hard to see them take a map off DRX.

TLN 0 - 2 DRX
DRX winning this was always going to be a given. What's changed for me, seeing these recent games, is the shakiness of Talon if they choose to let Patiphan join these games. I appreciate the willingness to experiment, but they need to get some wins on the board.

T1 2 - 1 PRX
T1 has been looking really good these past few games, and there is an absolutely real possibility of Paper Rex getting their second loss against this team.

RRQ 1 - 2 DFM
Detonation is probably on the same level with Zeta, and considering the past results, I'm not expecting much from RRQ besides a map win.

I welcome all to the Team Secret fanclub, where the highs are as great as the lows. 🥹

Wow, after this match, I think there are two things to reconsider:

  1. Is Talon starting to look shaky? A win from T1 isn't what I'm surprised about, it's that they weren't able to take a single map off T1. It's going to be interesting to see T1's path in the coming weeks.
  2. If MIBR and EG lost to this, I'm not so sure they'll be able to stand up against the best of the Americas.

Nah, it's a lot more than that. While the original X10 breaking up and reforming into Xerxia did play a part, it's more of them picking up Jinggg and f0rsaken, plus having a really agressive playstyle that got them into the grand finals last Masters Copenhagen. Now though, the meta is shifting (Chamber nerfs, teams forming comps that can counter theirs, tons of their VODs for teams to analyze) and PRX just hasn't done enough to keep them on top. It's going to be a bit before something can adjust to his role as the new player, and for alecks to try and figure out new comps and player mixtures that go well together.

Just wanted to show the RRQ supporters some love, since people loved to shit on the roster. But holy fuck, this game was frustrating to watch. RRQ needs to get their shit together, this is embarrassing from a partnered team.

posted about a year ago

Gen.G will most likely win this, and I can't really defend my decision logically for picking RRQ since I have not seen their match, but my prediction is based solely on three things:

  1. Bias. RRQ has Filipinos, and you bet your ass I'm supporting my countrymen.
  2. Past performance. Not at all a solid metric for determining future performance, but hey, it works sometimes.
  3. Engagement. I crave the engagement. Slather it all over my body. W or Ls, I want it.

So yeah, anyways, good luck to the best team!

Yeah, so anyways, I take a lot of Ls, but it feels nice to get a W once in a while. 😄

  1. TS in 2021 won the APAC Playoffs and made it to Champions, finishing 8th place
  2. TS in 2022 was third in the APAC Stage 2 Playoffs, losing to PRX and Xerxia for a spot in Masters
  3. TS in the recent VCT Lock-In performed better than other Pacific teams

We haven't won yet, but we are getting pretty close. Now tell me, what can you say about Bleed?
edit: Bleed buying out a player from the competing team after facing them in the Grand Final? yeesh

TS 2 - 1 GE
Is GE a bad team? After TS' win versus DRX, I would say the only way they are winning this is if they can prepare and do their homework against GE. GE is looking really good, and every win at this point matters. Good luck to both teams, but here's to hoping TS caps off league play with a W.
(orig 2: Is GE a bad team? After that win from Gen.G, no doubt these guys are finding their form quicker than anticipated. I am now actually terrified for Team Secret, so I'm really hoping Warbirds and the team are taking these last few matches seriously if they want to make it to playoffs.)
(orig: Is GE a bad team? No, I'd say they could be a good team. It's just gonna take a bit of time for them to find what works and what doesn't. They would probably take a map off, but TS is going to win this.)

DRX 2 - 0 GE
There's a strength and weakness to having a 10 man roster. The strength is having the freedom to mix up comps to take the enemy off guard, and the weakness is taking time to see what works and what doesn't. GE is in its growing pains phase, compared to the maturity of DRX. Still, with time GE can become a pretty destructive team.

GEN 2 - 0 DFM
Maybe Gen.G?

TLN 2 - 1 T1
Talon still looks like the better team here as long as they can figure out a good comp, but I think T1 did well in their first round against GE that they might take a map off.
(original: Talon just looks like the better team here. T1 are definitely going to need some time before their roster can be pretty good.)

ZETA 2 - 0 RRQ
Holy fuck, RRQ needs to get their shit together. I like to troll, but this shit isn't even funny anymore.
(orig: I mean, Zeta isn't THAT bad that they wouldn't win a map. They're just not good enough to counter the APAC playstyle.)

posted about a year ago

RRQ 2 - 1 GEN
Hard to tell between these two, so I'll go ahead and pick RRQ.

posted about a year ago

PRX 1 - 2 DFM
Highly unlikely, but I have a feeling DFM will know how to counter PRX's playstyle. That, or PRX got their shit together and absolutely destroys DFM.

GE 2 - 0 T1
GE had a pretty good showing in Lock In, taking off a map vs. Vitality, so I'm hoping they'll win this.

TS 2 - 1 DRX
Papi DRX have mercy on these kind souls 🥺 Give these guys a win 🥺 You have losses to spare right 🥺 You're making it into playoffs 🥺 Let TS be the third seed to Masters Tokyo 🥺

posted about a year ago

TS 2 - 1 T1
TS should be the better team here. They have to be. They need to win their next two matches. Of course DRX is going to crush them, but I'm smoking ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF COPIUM to manifest this team getting into Playoffs and beating the next three teams they face and make it to Masters Tokyo. This fucking team is still great, age doesn't mean shit, TS isn't a washed team, fuck anyone who thinks they are, that is all.
(orig: TS just looks like the better team here.)

TS 2 - 1 ZETA
ZETA is showing signs of life these past few weeks, but I think with enough preparation and counterstrats, TS can absolutely win this match. As long as Dep and Sugarz3ro don't wake the fuck up.
(orig: ZETA's weakness is the fact that they aren't willing to make changes in their roster, and while their skills individually is commendable, their composition and playstyle just won't bring them to victory.)

TS 2 - 0 DFM
TS just looks like the better team here. They need to be. This is basically a giveaway game.
I don't think I can handle a loss from this team.

TS 2 - 0 RRQ
RRQ is probably the most underdeveloped team here in VCT Pacific, and it looks like that's not going to change here.

posted about a year ago

TS 2 - 1 GEN
After that Paper Rex win, I'm going all in on Team Secret. After Paper Rex, their next hurdle will definitely be the Korean teams in this league, so I'm hoping they've got what it takes.
(orig: Gen.G has potential to become a great team, and while I hope TS proves me wrong, Gen.G will probably win this one.)

posted about a year ago

TS 2 - 1 PRX
El Clasico! TS has shown that they are able to win maps against PRX, and PRX hasn't been looking too strong lately. If they play this right, this will be a guaranteed W.

TS 2 - 1 TLN
Even without Pathipan (wishing him a speedy recovery), I think Talon is pretty strong that they'd be able to take a map off TS. Still, I have hope for TS.
