Official List of Games to enter this year's conference is announced

Tencent has their own Esports Business Summit every year, but also a platform for all Tencent-ran esports to make announcement or updates about their competitive scene. This is generally meant for the China National Scene but International event is being talked from time to time

This year is the first time since event's inception that Tencent marketed this event in English, had schedule in English, and even a Youtube stream. All of which never happen before

July 14, specially these games segments starts from 14:15 Local time (other segments takes up the morning timeslot)

The event promised TWO NEW ESPORTS SERIES, which coincides with two new games being added to the showcase. This and their Apex Mobile clone

  • You get rebates from Recharging during beta (e.g. Recharge 1000 , 140% meant you get 140% of that in return on Launch)

  • I dont think you can changed away from Mandarin Voices/Lang on the National Version?

July 15/16 - 128/168 CNY ($17/$23)

Not with any other country, well simply because others dont have this issue of skins getting super overpriced unintentionally

posted about 2 years ago

Pretty much, what they do is China has a different Currency to VP Rate
but because of that everything gets over-expensive, they fixed by dropping VP cost of skins to bring this in line

posted about 2 years ago

They dont really mentionoed but expect to be lowered in VP

For example Nebula Phantom instead of 1775 is now 1390VP on Chinese Server, but when compared on the recharge rate

Hong Kong's 1775VP = $142 HKD ($18)
China's 1390VP = 139 CNY = $150 HKD ($19)

$1 difference, if China kept same 1775 instead of paying $18 for a Nebula Phantom, you paid $24 instead

posted about 2 years ago

PRIME 2.0 now cost 5160 instead of 7100
and Xeno is now 5560

Context: The recharge rate to refill VP in China is very different, 1 CNY = 10 VP. While closest counterpart, Hong Kong is 1:13

This caused massive heat from the netizen because it meant skins and bundle in CN Server under this rate can be as far as $10-20 more expensive than the global server if it costs same VP as Global

the fix? They adjusted skin price to cost way less VP
but with the 1:10 VP exchange rate meant instead of $20+ pricier, now only $1-2 pricier

Global still cheaper than CN, but this was made so that CN isnt unreasonably $20+ expensive than Global.

Yes, they are doing crowds but only for the last 4 days

  • Shanghai 1862 Art Center which is the same venue as the Chinese Server Press conference few days ago

July 13/14 - 98/128 CNY ($13.5/$17)
July 15/16 - 128/168 CNY ($17/$23)

TO PREVENT SCALPING/RESELLS

  • Each account is limited to 2 tickets per session
  • Each Tickets will be tied 1-to-1 to your National ID Card Number
  • When enter the venue the ticket holder must bring their ID Card that is only the exact match to the ticket you hold (so scalping dies here because you cant sell to anyone since it locks to your ID ???)

National Competition is the name

Common to Tencent they usually held a Grassroots Level Major for their game, which piles open qualifier / provincial level / college and internet cafes together in what would be equivalent to a 3rd/Open Division. Teams can qualified either through Internet Cafes, College, or as a Streamer Team compete through event hosted by each Platform, or through PREMIER (Yes China will have PREMIER feature)

This is not the Chinese League but is comparable to either as a Challenger Step OR a 1 step below Challenger.
This is because Tencent loves to split between 2 options

  • National Competition >> 2nd League >> 1st League (seen in Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile and also Wild Rift)
  • National Competition >> 1st League (just like VCL>VCT)

Anyway Tencent conference in two more weeks hopefully we hear more about VCT China

Summary

Netizens reaction for the entire show is demanding changes to 1:10 because it made CN people looked differently than it should by Foreigners (Context: The recharge ratio for HK Server is 1 CNY to 13 VP, in China beta is 1:10)

posted about 2 years ago

If you're willing to download the CN Client, and just happened to have a CN friend that can lend you an ID and Phone No which is what mandatory required over there for CN Server verification

posted about 2 years ago

Offline is simply mean "LAN" which that will be streamed like Tokyo

posted about 2 years ago

Yes, you see it right. SIX BO5

Basically every BO5 match is the one where winning that will make you qualified for Champions.

posted about 2 years ago

They could not run that long, Given China making visa to US is one of the hardest among all other 13 teams. That one takes nearly a full month, while CN teams had just exactly one month left to do + need time for VISA

posted about 2 years ago

The event will be China's First ever LAN in Shanghai, Netizens were already demanding Ticket infos in weibo comments hence there is crowd that wants to attend the event.

  • The top 8 teams from Swiss Stage (Preliminary) will faced of each other in just 4 separate single matches each being a BO3

  • Winner goes to Playoffs
    .

  • Playoffs contains 4 teams from above + 4 direct invited teams (FPX BLG ASE EDG) in a 8DE Bracket

  • Only the First Round of Upper and the Round 1-2 of Lower is BO3, The rest is all BO5

  • Top 3 from here goes to L.A.

  • Event will be in Shanghai in an unknown venue, and will be first officially ran under the wing of TJ Sports and Riot China/Tencent

And theres even more organization aside from these 12 like even tripled of that they just not qualified.

Thats the benefit of CN Region and on top of it being a tencent ran esports

Yes, a press conference just for the official grand opening of the Chinese Servers.

From June 28th at Shanghai 1862 Art Center

Key confirmation were that the official launch date for Chinese Server (exiting Beta and officially go Live) will be announced here.

It is unclear whether we will see VCT China/CVL (netizens believed the Chinese league is going to be named CVL) announcement here, as they still set to appear at the Tencent Esports conference 2 weeks later

Yeah, probably an in between or the DOTA2 nomenclatures could really be very close

Masters can impact the team distribution at Champions and determines teams that will be playing in it the rest is done by LCQ
The same DPC Major is determining teams going to TI the rest is done by LCQ as well

posted about 2 years ago

treat it this way

Masters = MSI
Champions = League Worlds

or using DOTA2
Masters = DPC Major
Champions = TI

CS's is different because there was never a TI for CS so it acts as CS has Two World Championships every year

So we became CDL?

In 2021 they built a new venue in Shanghai entirely just for Wild Rift, still in use nowadays

At this point VALORANT, LoL (LPL) and Wild Rift is all by the same organizer team: TJ Sports

Theres a good chance we see another venue being built this time just for VALORANT for the CN Qualifier which is being told as a LAN.

almost all Tencent esports in China has its own game-specific stadium built for their league o far:

LPL = Shanghai
KPL = Shanghai + Home-stand stadium [what OWL planned to do, but covid]
VAL = ?
TFT = Online
Wild Rift = Shanghai
PUBGM = Chengdu
CrossFire = Chengdu
COD Mobile = Shanghai
QQ Speed = Shenzhen
AB (Tarkov Mobile clone) = Offline but idk which city
FIFA = Rotating cities

Facebook is the majority choice over Twitter in Thailand unlike Japan, with around 479K Followers on his facebook
(for comparsion the most subscribed TH youtube creator on Game Genre, has only 1.4M Fol on her facebook)

posted about 2 years ago

Can't say but its still a possibility

posted about 2 years ago

ALSO THIS IS A LAN

Knowing Tencent/TJ its possible they built a new venue entirely for VALORANT, Two years ago they do the same building new venue entirely for LoL Wild Rift when they kickstart Chinese League.

What if this tourney is to debut potentially VCT China Venue?

posted about 2 years ago

LPL is usually 10M+ heat most of time in regular season, that is the best comparison to be done

posted about 2 years ago

Jason can speak thai yes and also yes MiTH signed him as streamer in 2019 which is around the skyrocketed peak where literally every TH Streamer plays FiveM (the unofficial/pirated GTAV roleplay thing) and back then it was the no.1 choice to drew most viewership as a Streamer, and to this day still be the case

posted about 2 years ago

This is around the time of 12-8

So it ended maximum of around 8.6M HEAT on Bilibili, and 3M+/- on Huya that's for main stream only not to account watch party

VALORANT did a great job finally going over CrossFire.

Heat doesnt represent 100% Viewership, Read Explanation here

posted about 2 years ago

Most have been supporting already way before CGRS joins

Mainly through Jingg and f0rsaken (Jason has been playing on CGRS streams in the past very often, way back to when its still CSGO and while CGRS still playing for MiTH.CS back then).

posted about 2 years ago

This is around the time of 12-8

1-8M Heat across all platforms incl. Watch Parties, Maxed at 8M over at B23
(By chinese terms = this is around mid to high numbers, LPL is usually nearly 10m+ every match in Huya while VCT got up to 3M)

While EDG is going out, their effect might have caused VALORANT to finally be a game to go over CrossFire both casually and competitive
(something Perfect World tried with CSGO since 2017, and unsuccessfully on doing it)

Heat doesnt represent 100% Viewership, Heat Level Explanation here

Right now the game is in the Final Beta test and official launch is up after this

So technically no, at this point VALORANT still hasnt officially launched in China, nor exited Beta yet

posted about 2 years ago

They still rocking with now at Season 23 of Pro League (and remains franchised) so yes they are still very much well and alive in China.

Just like Sudden Attack in Korea people stick to games from mid 2000s

posted about 2 years ago

Top 11 Trending in a Weibo for a VALORANT topic is huge for the game in China

Aside in terms of the Heat Level on stream I heard that back during their match vs Liquid it managed to reach 6 Million Heat Level and likely similar in today's matches.

This meant they would be able to surpass any heat/popularity level over CrossFire matchups in China already comparing the main channel (and would blow away when added co-stream, because CF doesnt allow watch parties), which is something CN CS/OW have been trying to do so but often falls short.

posted about 2 years ago

11K while CGRS is playing on TH Stream which is 1/4 of the English Twitch Stream

For note I might be wrong, none of the matches in the TH Challenger (or maybe even Talon matches on TH Stream) this split that broke 10K.

Why is this happened: he's part of a content creator group, which can be easily described as Asmongold's OTK, but Thailand

(a group of popular figure being together = draw number at anything they touch)
