It's kinda clear that 100T are all insane individually:

Boostio shot back on EG and IGL reads were insane; Cryo was second best duelist/Chamber in 2022; eeiu is good even on 100T; Zander farmed T2; Asuna is genuinely a good entry and movement is really good

I don't know why every player just looks so much worse on 100T

posted 3 months ago

is he good as of late? 2023 they didn't even make playoffs with stellar igl, but also imo individual players rn are better than 2023

posted 3 months ago

bang has highest clutch rate, but Trent has the most clutches (Think he's sitting at 16 + 2 from this half)

posted 3 months ago

genuinely who would replace him tho? I don't watch T2, but igl is so hard to replace

posted 3 months ago

CAN TRENT EVEN LOSE A CLUTCH WHAT THE FUCK

this guy is too good man

man I'm also sad abt that second round, but it's so funny how whenever the enemy tejo clutches, a vlr post pops up complaining about tejo post plant with the flair of the team the tejo clutched against

he does play a part in this, but it's so missable from his end- minimap doesn't show the gap, his teammates dying through the wall can be explained by spam

if he doesn't know, he can't fix it, which is the coach's job: to point out errors players are blind to and fix them. this wall is clearly a lineup, too, because of how the gap is the same every time the round starts when C9 is on attack

so in this case, yes, v1c probably should have checked it in customs before using it, but this is still largely the coach's fault as this is so fixable from not v1c's pov (v1c will practically NEVER see the other side of the wall, as he's playing viper and will avoid taking extra risks like pushing snowman after plant).

if coaching staff gave v1c this lineup, it's even more so their fault, but I'm not gonna assume anything here

I am very biased though cause I'm a C9 defender and this match hurt.

posted 3 months ago

people are blaming v1c mostly which is weird- although he probably should've checked it in customs, I think the brunt of the blame lies on the coaching staff for not realizing in scrims that it left a gap

posted 3 months ago

which kinda proves there is a line up (although it's shit...), since it was also the same gap in the wall every time no?

I mean a lot of East Asians are racist because of classism. East Asian culture is highly materialistic and therefore values money a lot. A lot of rich countries are mostly white and a lot of "poor" countries have people with darker skin tone.

East Asians tend to look favorably upon people from countries with higher GDP/capita (a lot of which are primarily white countries) while they look disapprovingly upon countries with less GDP/capita (a lot of which primarily have darker skin tone people)

This causes them to stereotype white people as "better" than darker skin tone people which is definitely racist, but it does stem from classism tbf

I agree with this take, derrek did a jumping head shot vs c9 on icebox yesterday I believe

posted 3 months ago

Realistically 100T isn’t making Toronto. Yesterday was against one of the weaker teams, and 100T needs someone to pop off in order to win (yesterday was Zander, all the other wins were Cryo). If someone doesn’t go insane, 100T is unlikely to win because of weak ish team play imo

But also what’s the fun of watching if you don’t believe? I’d say cling onto that hope because until they get eliminated the chance is never 0

If this is reactionary from vs 100T rn, not even game. Singular map

I LOVE ASUNA

posted 3 months ago

Well tbf zikz made 100t go from playoffs missing team to stage 1 winners in 2024, but 100t aren’t really playing to the current meta at all- they fell off a cliff after Shanghai and they really haven’t been as good since

So like… kinda? But at least he doesn’t call a timeout at 10-12 or whatever that score was on pearl vs eg

Have you seen the theory where high iq people can’t communicate with someone out of their iq range? That’s probably why. Stay strong king

Nah seriously though it’s normal to have best friends but it’s also normal as fuck to not have best friends

I’m not high elo but ik theory about “studying and practice” so this should be right:

Why do you play DMs? What’s the advantage of DMs over the range/aim training?

It’s to replicate duels in actual games as closely as possible SO THAT you get more practice at Val duels without pressure (no death timer, nothing on the line).

Same theory applies to when you’re studying for a final: doing mocks (death matches) helps you more than just reading a random textbook loosely related to the subject/questions from the textbook (range, aim labs, basic knowledge of movement + cross hair placement). Ofc you have to have the knowledge foundation first, but there’s a point where doing mocks is so so much better because it’s similar to the final exam, allows you to get your reps in, and emphasizes areas you didn’t know you had weakness in so you can target those areas in particular.

Ik this analogy is getting convoluted, but hear me out:

DMs should theoretically be really helpful if you think of it as a practice tool for actual games. What do you do when you’re studying for a final and you’re taking a mock? Emulate similar conditions to the real test DURING the mock.

So DMs should have a ton of value if you imagine you’re in an actual game and do “scenarios” like retake, taking a site, peeking main as a defender, whatever you want. The best part is that if you die, you get a different position and have to imagine yourself in a different scenario, which is better than if you “role play” in a certain scenario for too long (this is called interleaved practice, search it up it’s actually really good for you).

E.g, you spawn at screens Split. Imagine a real scenario that would happen in an actual game- for example, you’re retaking site and you have no clue where the enemies are. So you should check angles and slowly make your way to the bombsite. Then you die to a person crouching in the corner with a judge. THIS IS FRUSTRATING, BUT ITS GOOD BECAUSE you’ll adjust your crosshair placement to account for that possible angle next time, and if someone plays that dumb angle in a game, you’ll be more favored than if you never died to that dumbass in DM. Then you respawn right near vents and then you imagine yourself peeking mid early as a defender. Repeat repeat repeat

Tldr: pretend like you’re in a real game and peek angles that you would peek in a comp game

No we need to spread anti C9 propaganda so that there’s 0 expectations and they end up on a run

But seriously though. C9 😔🙏

Where do the C9 regular season merchants, playoffs chokers allegations come from? 2023 they definitely underperformed compared to regular season, but only player still on that roster in 2025 is xeppaa

2024 roster carrying over to 2025 is OXY and xeppaa, so I could see an argument for calling them regular season merchants and playoffs chokers IF that holds true for 2024 but:

2024 stage 1
Regular season 4-1 (loss to 100T)
Playoffs- eliminated round 1 to G2 (G2 end up making GFs, this is arguably not a choke since they lost to what ended up becoming Americas #2 seed @ Shanghai?)i

2024 stage 2
Regular season 6-4
Playoffs- 5th-6th, eliminated round 1 and not an underperformance, they were 5th ranked by round robin win-loss. Even if you don’t take that into consideration, they were eliminated by KRU, who ended up going to lower finals and was #3 at Seoul?

I do acknowledge that I’m implying a lot with just win/loss stats, as in if they started looking super strong at the end of the 2024 regular season split and/or were super hyped up by casters and analysts, but IF 2024 was genuinely underperformance in playoffs when looking at regular season, it’s still unfair to call C9 playoffs chokers when only 2/5 of their 2025 roster (OXY, xeppaa) were around in the year that playoff choker allegations held true (this is also neglecting pre franchising, but the coach is different and 3/5 players are also different in 2025 from pre franchising)

I guess we’ll get more “evidence” if the playoffs chokers narrative is true on the 24th, though, but honestly that would just be the start of “evidence” for this variation of C9

Also I could just be getting rage baited tbh wtf am I doing actually thinking about vlr users’ claims

Replay system……….

posted 3 months ago

Isn’t that then arguably a hot take, since no one else says that C9 will go on a run because everyone thinks they’re playoffs chokers?

posted 3 months ago

Idk where this narrative comes from, only player from 2023 where C9 actually underperformed in playoffs vs regular season is xeppaa. Besides for that, completely different team?

posted 3 months ago

This is like the best bracket I’ve seen ngl

Why does everyone hate C9 :(

posted 3 months ago

It’s kinda hard to gauge strengths between alpha and omega, but C9 had two super close series against MIBR and G2. I would put C9 higher and closer to MIBR, but they are known to be chokers in playoffs so I can see the argument for a lower C9. Just surprised at how most people on this site overlook them

No way he doesn’t start on a team next season unless he gets a diabolical fall off though

I really do hope 100T can qualify for Toronto, but last year it felt like the chemistry was there, but the shooting back wasn’t entirely there before they got their shit together and won Stage 1… this year feels the opposite, I fear

But I really do hope that you’re right and I’m wrong in the end

posted 3 months ago

Not just cryo, starting to feel like most of them splitting up would be better…. they looked so coherent and together stage 1 last year. I haven’t felt the chemistry since 2024 stage 2… maybe dryad was right 😭😭

Hey man, I also used to struggle with this a lot! I grinded aimlabs, the range, DMs, learned counter-strafing, etc. but still was stuck in bronze for a while because I was the world’s most passive player and baiter for fear of getting flamed and dying…

I made an alt account and ONLY played the ego duelists (Reyna/Jett, this was 2023) until I hit 20 while full sending it and entrying on attack, making sure I was peeking on defense and taking first contact on attack and overheating A LOT (there’s actually a league term for this: limit testing). You’ll naturally learn a nice balance between too passive and overheat.

I think it was some kind of exposure therapy haha because I managed to place gold while being in plat lobbies while my old acc was hard stuck bronze after way too many games…

I know it’s scary (I’ve been there!), but you gotta get the confidence, and if you don’t have it, you still gotta take those duels or else you’re not going to get the experience to improve. Good luck!
