I love Larin but saying we should've started him is super reactionary considering the number of games he's started for us in the past year and done poorly
Excited for Qatar as well though, also hella excited for Vancouver, their atmosphere is AMAZING
Davies hasn't played for us since March last year tbf it's not like we haven't had time without
I love Richie Laryea though this guy is the real deal, genuinely doing such a good job at LB. Might honestly be worth it to put Davies back at LW like in the old days, especially considering we're low on goals
This match was peak, I wish I was able to watch the whole thing
I think you misspelled FIFA World Cup
None of these England players are guaranteed starters btw
If this was a prediction, yes, but I don't think Spain would go 1st in a power ranking
I originally had them 46 I'm ngl to you but the thing about Saudi Arabia is they've proven they can actually somewhat compete above their level, which is something the teams below them (other than Qatar and maybe one other) are just not able to do
I'm not talking about the Argentina game from 4 years ago or anything like that, I'm talking about holding off decent teams like Senegal like they did yesterday
5-9 are pretty interchangeable tbh, you could put them in any order and I wouldn't disagree
But yeah, a lot of people are saying Brasil will pull off a run like 2002 citing the fact that the qualification process for them that year was poor and that they had low expectations. Basically just "oh this happened before therefore it'll happen again." I personally don't really see it (wouldn't be shocked if they went out in the round of 32 considering who they might play, I'll be perfectly honest) but I wouldn't be surprised if they made it deep either. It's Brasil after all
Mainly their performance in qualification. They've never done this poorly... in any previous edition they would've had to play in the interconfederation playoff. Their friendlies prior to 2026 weren't super impressive either other than the win over Senegal. They've looked a lot better this year though, seems like they're getting back to form, which I'm happy about
Yeah. I like the All Whites but they're definitely the worst team at this tournament unfortunately (and definitely not Haiti or Cabo Verde like some people are saying)
I promise you I'm not ragebaiting. England looked incredibly good in qualifying but their group wasn't the toughest, and they just haven't shown much quality anywhere else
It's already no debate tbh... it would take Portugal winning for the debate to restart
3rd is the highest you can put them without being biased, and frankly I think even that's too high
If Norway looked good in their Belgium game I'd have them level with Cรดte d'Ivoire I'll be honest
5-9 is pretty interchangeable but yes they are that good
The World Cup is a little over 5 hours away so I thought now was a good time
I've been following this edition of the World Cup since the very start of qualification in September 2023, and I've been updating this power ranking after each set of qualifiers, friendlies, and updates. This power ranking is a culmination of the past 2ยฝ years, with a bit of reactionary bias thrown in for fun :)
So without further ado, here's my personal pre-World Cup power ranking:
Note: This isn't a prediction, this is a power ranking. Just because a team is low doesn't mean I think they'll do poorly, and vice versa.
๐ฒ๐ฝ 2-2 ๐ฟ๐ฆ
๐ฐ๐ท 2-1 ๐จ๐ฟ
This is kinda like Argentina vs. Netherlands in 2022 if the Dutch won the shootout
Your team is playing Sage on Breeze and you're wondering how they're losing?
What is "blood Turk" supposed to mean
Two Canadians, two Brasileiros, and a Chilean... absolute cinema
Would NEVER happen on paper but if we beat you at a World Cup it would be the most Germany thing of all time considering recent results
Ok, full thoughts:
Yeah, this is realistic... anything could be realistic, really, but Mexico 1st feels more normal than anything
As a Canadian I'd love to win our group but this is NOT happening bro. Switzerland being anything but 1st in this group is genuinely your wildest take in this entire prediction
Mhm. I'm pretty sure this is the most common take for this group
I've had this same pred for quite a while (Tรผrkiye interchangeable with Paraguay, USA interchangeable with Australia) but the USA have been impressive lately, we've gotta face it. Paraguay also lost Julio Enciso to injury a couple days ago... they're still a very solid team but that's a HUGE hit
Germany 3rd isn't as hot a take as you think it is. Ecuador is NOT winning this group though... they're impossible to score against but they can't score either. They're getting 4-5 points max I guarantee you
Standard pick. No comments
Yeah nothing to be said here tbh
You probably have Uruguay 3rd because of how bad they've looked... trust me, Saudi Arabia look even worse. I personally have Cabo Verde getting 2nd in this group, but honestly these three could go in any order (if Espaรฑa don't win this group there's a glitch in the matrix)
RAHHHHH SENEGAAL ๐ธ๐ณ ๐ธ๐ณ ๐ธ๐ณ ๐ธ๐ณ ๐ธ๐ณ
I've been throwing Jordan 2nd out there as my personal hot take for a while but man, these guys have had like 3-4 of their 5 best players go out to injury and miss the tournament. They've gotten some decent results but there's just no argument for them anymore unfortunately. Also Algeria 4th is HELLA disrespectful I can't lie
You know ball, my friend.
...is there a reason you have Ghana any higher than 4th? Because they have not shown a damn thing to convince anyone otherwise
Ecuador vs. Switzerland is such a sick game, glad you have it. Ghana is in NO world beating Congo DR that's just ridiculous, you were right in saying you haven't seen either team. France getting revenge against Cรดte d'Ivoire is kinda cinema but that's a boring result icl. And Canada over Germany LMFAO alright man I see you
Oh we got hella rematches in this round. Senegal vs. Ecuador from 2022... Korea vs. Brazil from 2022 but also from a couple months ago... Canada vs. Colombia from the autumn window... France vs. Morocco from 2022 as well. The all-CONMEBOL game is gonna be so fun to watch. Mexico vs. Portugal has somehow never happened at the World Cup damn. No really hot takes in this round from you tbh, but personally I think Senegal and Belgium beat Ecuador and Norway if they play how they've been playing recently
How on earth did we end up with two UEFA head-to-heads and two CONMEBOL head-to-heads? That might be the most boring outcome I can't lie. The games themselves are pretty fun though... nothing unrealistic results-wise either
Brazil vs. Spain and Colombia vs. Portugal are such fire semifinals, you somehow ended up cooking, I take it back. I would LOVE to see Colombia pull off the run, so I'm happy about this
Yeah, idk what else I expected. It ends with Spain winning, as the vast majority of (serious) preds do
All good I got it

Gimme a bit I gotta reverse engineer your bracket to figure out how your groups went
I'm on Reyna
Yeah you're in the wrong bro sorry
Hey, remember what Cรดte d'Ivoire just did to you? Yeah... get ready for Senegal, man, it ain't gonna be pretty
I mean he's gotta change something tbh because they look shambolic
Also since when were you a Leclerc fan
They're playing a 4-2-3-1 bro what right wing
If Saka's so good then where is he for England?
Just to clarify, are you suggesting pro games, or ranked VODs of pro players?
He just scored a hat trick just thought I'd point that out
