I mean I could systematically sample the data to make it "fair" but its not really worth it.
The data shows that demon1 in theory improved eg atk sides
You cant say demon1 improved eg atk sides by x% but you can see he has improved it.

I mean you could average the data? for all maps.

+----------------------------+
| Overall average atk wr% |
+-----------+----------------+
| pre-demon | 34% (28/82) |
+-----------+----------------+
| demon era | 55% (215/394) |
+-----------+----------------+
posted about 2 years ago

I think the main difference is the improvement in their attack sides. (maybe also mental aswell)
EG had terrible attack sides before the introduction of demon1.

The reason why the games looked like a "choke" was because they would commonly start defense side.

+-------------------------------------+
| Demon1 impact on atk wr% |
+----------+------------+-------------+
| Maps: | PRE-DEMON | DEMON-ERA |
+----------+------------+-------------+
| HAVEN | 23% (5/22) | 53% (30/57) |
+----------+------------+-------------+
| SPLIT | 18% (2/11) | 48% (36/75) |
+----------+------------+-------------+
| FRACTURE | 50% (5/10) | 69% (61/89) |
+----------+------------+-------------+
| PEARL | 33% (8/24) | 70% (26/37) |
+----------+------------+-------------+

(pre-demon has very small sample sizes)

oui.
though scream is really good on duelist, missing out on takas again would be a huge miss.

Pearl and fracture 100%

posted about 2 years ago

Very similar map vetos.
Fnc will always ban pearl.

I think that fnatic would pick haven before fracture though.

posted about 2 years ago

Yep, the map veto advantage seems huge here:

Fnatic will always ban pearl and now also fracture.
Which are 2 maps eg/prx are good at.

hsdirr for a bit. (best swedish team also unsigned)
Until they disbanded, after losing 4 polaris games in a row.

He did win i70 though, which is one of the biggest uk lan events.

vlr rating is pretty good imo, its not perfect but nothing is. it just looks more confusing because it uses data we cant see.

why fns was bottom?
Joint lowest k/d, 2nd lowest kast, 0/8 on clutches, -3 fk/fd score, 2nd lowest assists number on the team.
Also kills/deaths arent weighted equally, 2k versus a full buy is worth alot more than a 2k versus pistols (for example)
No point in really rating fns based on stats since thats not his main focus.

Loud need to revert to what was working best. (back to harbor)
Liquid were alot more competitive than I thought, a few mistakes to fix but they could make it far in champs.
Drx.. korean roster shuffle needed asap, the squad seems burnt out.
NRG, I would like to see them prioritise playing split. Double duelist works well for this team.

posted about 2 years ago

I think it hurts the event that there was alot of underperformers.
For me I would characterise the teams like this:

Low expectations: T1, ASE, FUT
Underperformers: Loud, DRX, NAVi

Competitive teams: EDG, Liquid, NRG, PRX (though prx pains me because of what could've been)
"Overdogs": EG, FNC

and so far in the playoffs the series were only close between teams in the same category.

Sweeps (2-0/3-0) in masters playoffs:
Tokyo: 7 (so far, 4 games left)
Reykavik: 6
Copenhagen: 5

No, I think the grand finals decides that

posted about 2 years ago

Might have to do with timezones.
Also I think this event was way too overhyped, alot of the teams aren't matching my expectations.
So many dominant 2-0s

6 first deaths on attack.
a first death isnt necessarily bad, if ardiis can dash onto site and make space .. die and then get traded its successful.

πŸ‡«πŸ‡· JACKZ

would be crazy, though I feel like elige could get onto a better team.

if egblack then disbands m80/tsm should swoop in now and pick up the core of jeorge/junior/hext.
maybe go get CLASIA + a good igl.
could easily make a major with that.

nah this is worse.
liquid are the top north american team and have been for a while, though atleast they are keeping a few players.
when c9 switched that was after multiple failed attempts of even making a competent roster.

if they started banning useless trolls there would be about 5 users left.

posted about 2 years ago

Doing pretty well but i honestly think teams are hard trolling their vetos versus eg.

The veto versus fut was probably the only veto that didnt go into eg favour imo.
yet fut werent good enough to even take it to 3.

EMEA has won 1 (one) single game using Harbor on pearl in VCT this year. (from lock-in, emea regular season to tokyo)

Riot deliberately seed the same regions on the same side of the bracket to allow a more diverse amount of regions/teams to make deeper runs.
