ENVY virtyy and bang sounds like solid additions though virtyy has that nasty personality

what are you even saying bro
im stating a hypothetical scenario. I'm not saying liquid are gonna win 100%

posted 8 months ago

alfajer is a great sentinel but he's more of a sentinel/duelist player. SENTINEL wise, he's great but not the top. I honestly think his mechanics carries him alot of the time during anchoring

posted 8 months ago

he's already top 5 sentinel player rn, but him winning champs he'd be top 2 with meteor IMO

If liquid somehow win champs in 2025,
will nAts be regarded as the greatest sentinel of all time? Let's discuss!

Highs:

  1. pioneered lurking in early 2021, basically founded the playstyle of top sentinels to this day
  2. innovated a ton of viper and cypher setups, very creative with orb and wall placements, and is creative with playing around cypher cages
  3. one of the best phantom players ever, and has been mechanically up there for 5+ years, and also a god at anchoring a site. Just overall a goated fragger.
  4. doing all this while IGL'ing is crazy.
  5. 2x EMEA regional winner in 2023 and 2025, so far been the most consistent EMEA team in 2025.
  6. Has a master's trophy in 2021 and almost won champs 2021
  7. most humble, calmest, nicest player i've ever seen, never gets hyped up, always keeps his cool.

Even the best players have insanely low lows.
Lows:

  1. 2022, gambit didn't qualify to a single international due to political events
  2. 2023, did decent in master's tokyo, but bombed out of lock in and champs 2023. Most likely due to internal team conflict with sayf and redgar
  3. 2024, Probably his worst ever year, no internationals, apex core pickup only had 1 good player (Keiko) but team was just so mediocre. Also his first go at IGL'ing which obviously didn't go well.

I know it might sound that i want alot but when will vlr update this boring bland UI on its website. I'm not asking much. Instead of having just gray on each sides of the screen, maybe add team logos, or player pictures, or some simple animations, or images of past events of masters or champions. Maybe when viewing the pacific league, it can have a background of prominent players from prx geng drx t1 etc, and if its nearing champions or a masters, maybe have the entire site theme become purple (for masterrs) or golden (champs). idk just add a few more designs bro it just feels so bland

it might not be easy to code (as i have experience in react, css, etc) but add something man

idk if this has been discussed before so if it has then ig just ignore this

Do you think champions should expand to 32 teams instead of 16?

I feel like the more teams we had for each international tournament, the more special and hype it is. Riot probably does not have the budget to accommodate all these teams, but it would be cool to see. If the Esports and game had a sudden boom in popularity and revenue, i think they should try this for a year atleast.

Franchised leagues should still retain 12 teams, and it goes like this:

Masters 1:

  • 12 teams, so top 3 of each region goes to masters 1

Masters 2:

  • 16 teams, top 4 of each region goes to masters 2

Champions:

  • 32 teams, top 8 of each region goes to champs.

But then again, it would be WAY easier to qualify to champs if the top 8 were to go. It would make playoffs of split 2 completely meaningless.

Idk, wdyt?

edit: A 24 team champs tournament could work too

rrq got alot of hate in 2023 due to fielding a filipino roster but nowadays no

posted about a year ago

not having forsaken is insane
yeah boom is on fire rn and prx is shit but forsaken's value as a flex player with the widest agent pool can not be ignored

posted about a year ago

even if prx are dogwater rn, surely forsaken and mindfreak are still the indonesian valorant goats no? mindfreak is debateable but monyet is a great flex tho and can fill in aggresive duelist and controller.

Let's list the indonesians:
PRX:

  • forsaken (god flex)
  • mindfreak (controller)

BOOM:

  • ncslasher (initiatior)
  • famouz (duelist)
  • shiro (initiator/sova)
  • berserx (sentinel

RRQ:

  • monyet (controller-flex-duelist)
  • kushy (initiator)
  • xffero (sentinel)

MY roster of 5:

  • famouz (pure entry duelist and opper)
  • forsaken (flex/IGL)
  • kushy (initiator/recon)
  • monyet (controller/duelist flex) - mindfreak is probably a better controller but monyet provides more value IMO
  • xffero (berserx isn't doing that well individually but the whole of BOOM is doing well)

what do yall think??

how the hell is nats not s tier

posted about a year ago

no they're not

posted about a year ago

i agree alfa was one of the best in 2023 but look at him now. He's not playing a lot of sentinel and playing raze and iso

posted about a year ago

they're in the same tier man

posted about a year ago

chamber players will NOT count since they are duelist-minded and play different than a traditional senti.

I have a few picks and reasons:

S Tier

nAts

  • the best player in 2021, masters winner, 2nd in champs, unfortunate events in 2022, decent in 2023, good in 2024 but dogshit teammates, and still the best player in his team on 2025. Did so fucking well in bangkok but his teammates just arent as good.
  • pioneered lurking, innovated viper setups on bind, knows the best timing for lurks, and one of the best site anchors of all time.
  • the best phantom user in valorant imo.
  • Even after 5 years of competing he's the ONLY player in the 3 liquid rosters to perform well and outfrag everyone. Put him on a better team and he'd win trophies just like what he did in Gambit.

Less

  • champs winner 2022, consistent in 2023 and 3rd in champs, fell off a bit (loud were shit in 2024), and is doing well in 2025 so far
  • a great killjoy and viper player and is probably the greatest player ever in using a vandal and taking 1v1 straight up duels, a world class site anchor

A Tier:
Chichoo

  • champs winner last year, arguably underrated and during the group stage and early playoffs was edg's best player up until KK took over the rest of the tournament
  • great anchor, good lurk timings, great ability to 1v1 and isolate duels. Currently doing amazing in bangkok

Alfajer

  • Arguably best sentinel during 2023, top 3 player in 2023, but I don't think his sentinel is on par w nats and less.
  • Simply has godlike mechanics with insane vandal bursting, which helps alot with anchoring sites and taking duels.
  • Recently been playing a lot of iso and shifted into a flex-duelist-senti role, weird as hell.

B Tier

  • meteor: consistent for 2024 ONLY, 2025 he's doing well so far.
  • benjyfishy: same w meteor, only for 2024, in 2025 not doing so hot
  • suygetsu: The 2nd best sentinel in 2022 after less, but after that navi just didnt do shit for 2 years straight. Moved to KC to a weird smokes role.
  • leaf: consistent anchor, sentinel, etc. Has great game sense and timing, but been only on sentinel since 2024. Was a cracked duelist and one of NA's best but is now a great sentinel. Surely more to come from him.
  • shyy: Honestly underrated sentinel player. during kickoff was kru's only consistent player and I honestly think he can perform better with a better team. Kru is just so goddamn inconsistent

for anyone else i am missing please mention below!

I'm so happy for patitek nats and keiko

Pati deserved to be on the international stage and on a tier 1 team. Nats is the goat cypher and still one of my favourite players of all time. Keiko was the only good player from the apeks core and I'm so glad he's fragging so good, on controller as well.

I'm glad with the addition of kamyk and kamo. Kamo is a great selfless-hard entry duelist that was so hated when he first joined (because bro was a racist immature teenager, good to know that he has grown into a good person and teammate). Kamyk and pattitek are 2 great initiators and pati's comms + utils are so good to set keiko and kamo up.

Good to see nats getting SO MANY first engagements as an IGL sentinel.

Very happy for this liquid team. I don't expect them to get top 3 in bangkok but hopefully atleast they make top 4 and not get knocked out in the swiss stage.

About heretics, they're experiencing the PRX syndrome, where they get close to 2 trophies but not win anything internationally, then go into a downwards spiral. I feel is that with this core 5 players on heretics they've hit their peak and sadly there's a low chance of them getting back to that peak.

if liquid make bangkok then platchat are frauds

I agree. Aspas saved them during the KRU match and theyre teamplay is a bit disorganized.

I still think G2 will win, but I hope SEN will make it close

posted about a year ago

yeah i agree loud is slightly better

posted about a year ago

yeah, it's expected, but they did so well to get top 3. They just need more experience and them grinding and playing more in stage 1 can help alot

posted about a year ago

if they are dogshit and make top 3 kickoff then wtf are nrg and c9

posted about a year ago

Great run for a newly formed team with 2 rookies who have clearly never played a tier 1 BO5. Give them more experience and I bet they qualify for champions (or get top 5 in stage 1).
Aspas is still goated but his opping was clearly shut down. MIBR needs more double initiator comps and yes artzin is a good raze but with double duelist and skye only you rely only on slow defaults and you can only go aggresive if you have a raze ult.

Compare that with breach or tejo or more fade. There's also so many times where artzin died first without being traded.
I feel that aspas should be more aggresive, and I personally hate the baiting/statpas narrative but it's true to some extent, he still sometimes plays too passive/safe.
He can be more aggressive with double initiator comps.

Have them grind more for a month then they'd be top 4 in my opinion.

lev fumbled with aspas because aspas joined lev to play with nzr, and they fucking kicked nzr during christmas. I think anyone would be unhappy with lev management if it played out like that. If you want to keep aspas then do anything to satisfy him and he will provide you with consistent performance and wins for your org.
