HAHAHA NO WAY

posted about 3 years ago

it's kinda weird how Acend literally won Champs 11-3 without dropping a map in Quarters and Semis and they're not talked about as much compared to Gambit, OpTic, SEN, TL, and other teams. Feels like more people value last years Masters winners more than Champs winners.

Lakia

none of us really know what he brings to the table properly but from my perspective SEN seemed to do pretty well when they had him. And they definitely didn't get knocked out because of him too.

posted about 3 years ago

i literally proved i played with Surf in a different thread and i have screenshots of mostly everyone else lmao?

  • you said "none of you".

man just because you've never done it doesn't mean everyone else hasn't, too. some of us are just better than you maybe

posted about 3 years ago

i mean, i have already proven my case, so that's for sure 1 person. so "none of us" is immediately false.

posted about 3 years ago

just remembered i met persia too. he was like slightly better than iRdy i think.

posted about 3 years ago

cr seoldam: guy is legit. i was playing pre buff brim at the time though but this guy was crazy good.

igz lakia: he was ok. definitely a good player.

dwk esperanza: same as lakia.

wgs irdy: worse than esperanza.

wgs godlike: same as irdy.

xia surf: same as godlike.

spg exia: demon. this guy is cracked af.

spg pr0xy: not as cracked as exia but still good.

ts borkum: same as surf.

ons zunba: same as lakia but he was farming the rest of the lobby. i didnt know there was a rampage voiceline in DM but this guy got it like 3 times in one game.

dsp kimgyutae: i had to end up carrying this guy back when i was a down bad d2 player lmfao

owl pro lastro: this guy was cracked and carried us

forgot the rest tbh i am probably undercutting how good they are these guys were shitting on everyone else but i really havent been impressed by anyone ive been up against im ngl, even tho im just some rando imm player.

all these players except kimgyutae got at least top 3 in DM and ranked lobby.

i have lots of friends in SG/VN/MY/JP :)

wasn't as impressive as other pros i've met, like Seoldam. But again, this was DM and he was prolly just warming up. Lakia, iRdy, GODLIKE, Borkum, Zunba, Seoldam, ExiA, pr0xy, and Esperanza were the only pros I've met so far, and in that DM Surf was probably on the level of GODLIKE i guess. but once again, it was only DM so it doesn't mean anything. Would have liked to play against him on anything lower than 80~90 ping though LOL

They are able to adapt. Zest is a good IGL and DRX's coaching team is one of the best in the world. We know they're able to adapt because of their game vs PRX. The biggest threat to their success rn is their own mental.

DRX:
Mental.

S1mple is well known in NA, EU, South America and CIS.
Faker is well known in NA, EU, CIS, South America, CN, JP, KR, OCE, pretty much any continent.

They could prob beat Liquid and we saw them beat G2. Teams like Fnatic, FPX, and Gambit could give them a run for their money.

posted about 3 years ago

I mean maybe, yeah. I've said it a hundred times though that PRX feels like the gatekeeper team. Any team that has good adaptability will be able to beat PRX, but teams that are unprepared or inexperienced or lack that ability to be flexible will get rolled. That's why DRX beat them, and I think teams like OpTic would have beaten them too.

posted about 3 years ago

I can agree with that last part, huge blunder to pick Fracture into OpTic for your first map pick.

For PRX, I think ZETA were always going to win, just because PRX's game style heavily punishes unprepared teams that can't adapt midgame, something that G2 has due to regional differences and Guard due to inexperience (and if it happens I think Guard will win a rematch).

I can't really say for sure if DRX lost just because ZETA antistratted them because while ZETA were the only team to win a DRX postplant round, DRX surely had a fucked mental after the OpTic loss the day before.

posted about 3 years ago

Agree for the most part, but also Balla is known to be biased and has some pretty bad takes, I wouldn't agree with this one either. I think it's evident that OpTic DRX and LOUD were the best teams in Iceland, and if I had to choose one, it would be OpTic over ZETA.

posted about 3 years ago

and the 1v5 vs PRX too

posted about 3 years ago

That's something I actually didn't think of, and you're probably right too. Explains why KRÜ are also the only team from LATAM to keep qualifying for Masters. Doesn't necessarily explain Crazy Raccoon though.

posted about 3 years ago

MaKo and sScary are the only two who come close. Marved is good but his Viper is the weakest agent compared to his Brim and Omen. If Less consistently played like how he did during UBGF Icebox he could be up there too.

posted about 3 years ago

I remember reading that Shahz actually streams to help his mother financially, so personally I can't knock on it.

posted about 3 years ago

SEN needs better negotiating otherwise no coach is going to be super interested in a team that is slowly crashing and burning into the ground. Without a hefty paycheck that is.

posted about 3 years ago

no one from DRX, no one from ZETA, no one from Xerxia, no one from C9B, no one from V1, no one from LOUD, no one from Fnatic, no one from FPX, no one from TL, no one from The Guard, yet you put in SkRossi?

i was like DMG/LE in CS but not in a good region like EU/NA lol, I just played with Russians/SEAsians because KR didn't have dedicated servers. I was also like 6 wins off Radiant at my peak in Val.

When I switched to Valorant it felt easier for sure, but the whole abilities thing added a level of complexity I didn't really experience while playing CS. I think in terms of mechanics you won't necessarily find any difficulty adjusting, aim is aim and that kinda translates well between shooters.
Arguably Valorant requires a wider variety of aim as it has easier dynamic movement (raze satchel, jett dash/updraft, neon slide) so you'll be using some vertical aim as well, whereas the closest things you'll get in CS are bunnyhopping/runboosting+airstrafing. And that stuff is rare unless you're in a high elo.

Personally speaking though I did not feel a major difference in terms of difficulty. Both games didn't feel hard, but that could just be because, once again, I played CS in a weak region.

As for your journey to high elo, it all depends on how you use your util on the fly. I know in CS there's less flexibility on midround util usage because of lineups, setups, and limits on equipment, but in Valorant it's a lot easier to change the map in your favour (utility is easier to use, and having dedicated agents for eedicated roles means there's a wider variety of tools to use), which leads to more flexible and adaptive plays. That's the difference between the two games. Valorant is all about adaptability and being able to dynamically change the map to take fights. CSGO is about precision and perfection.

I think a lot of people rated Xia less because they thought their win vs OpTic was a fluke, but we saw them 2-0ing OpTic in the opener and getting close to beating Liquid to advance to Playoffs.

posted about 3 years ago

OpTic - they were underhyped going into the tourney + the Chet interview only made people want them to lose even more. But they were clearly really strong to anyone without a bias, and delivered.

LOUD - Lived up to the hype. Even overdelivered.

ZETA - Underhyped by anyone who didn't pay super close attention to the JP scene, but still exceeded expectations GREATLY for everyone. I guarantee you no one realistically expected ZETA to go on that run.

DRX - Actual fans didn't rate them highly. I myself thought Top 8 would be the best they could go, so they performed above expectations. Could have gone further but they broke down after that first loss. I think they proved their worth though.

Liquid - Performed according to expectations.

G2, KRÜ, Guard - Extremely unfortunate performance according to hype, Guard moreso than G2 because people rated G2 as chokers.

Xerxia, NiP, Fnatic - Performed to expectations, maybe even better in XIA's case.

Paper Rex - Exceeded expectations, but not by much. A lot of people rated them as dark horses and they delivered.

what are u saying? im saying immortal is immortal anywhere, im not saying KR ranked is harder lol in fact i believe EU ranked is the hardest in the world, even though an EU radiant buddy told me that its not.

in fact, i know two people from NA who were radiant/immortal and struggled to get immortal (but eventually got it) in KR/APAC, so it's obvious that it's a case-by-case basis too. your friend might just be used to a different playstyle.

so how about you stop with your own assumptions lol
