PRX can't just get access to the region locked CN servers. CN teams used to play on HK/TW prior to the CN region being added and EDG players have HK/TW accounts that play on HK/TW servers. The only feasible way for PRX to scrim EDG would be through the standard APAC Valorant shard, and the lowest ping they would get would be through the HK/TW servers. Unless EDG somehow flies to Korea every time they want to scrim PRX.
I don't "think" the ping difference between KR and JP is the same as HK to KR, I know. You can ask any Korean what ping they get to HK, you can ask any JP what ping they get to KR, and you can ask any SG what ping they get to HK.

PRX scrim with EDG as their scrim partner. That does not mean they are unable to scrim SEA tier 2 teams. I don't know where you got the info they scrim Japanese teams but the ping difference from KR to JP is the same as the ping difference from SG to HK and KR to HK as well.
I've never heard Talon divulge their scrim partners.
And most importantly a lot of Pacific teams scrim CN teams because there's a very low chance they will ever actually meet. Pretty sure Korean teams also scrim JP+CN teams the most.

They only got along because both DRX and PRX had a good friendship, both were powerhouse teams with podium finishes during the year, and both were trophyless.
Now the only trophies for Pacific came from Korean teams, with Korea being the strongest subregion in the past 2 years.
