I got super lucky with my second guess
oh I meant you :) sry for stereotypical assumption
me? uh I don't really have much preferences. I play violin and sax in my school band, so I get exposed to classical and concert music respectively, but no hard preferences or anything
what a genius analysis, I can't argue with such concrete logic and reasoning
sarcasm
uh no I don't really follow kpop :3 but i'll listen to it tho :)
lmao what a hypocrite. You didn't seem the least hesitant to copy and paste links of their victories
kekw someone mad that their beloved skrossi couldn't win champs
2 last minute subs and Zeta played well
Ass list. Only 1 to Korea but 2 for Br again?? Most likely they'll take the 3rd slot as well since Latam have no strong team now.
you pissed off the Koreans buddy
oh I didn't know they had hq in NA as well (NA hq is going to waste tho with the current valorant roster they have ngl)
T1 is headquartered in Kr as well if I'm not mistaken?
still, it would increase investment and interest and bolster the region, potentially making way for more opportunities/slots in the future
W. They have the money and reputation there to build a juicy team out of free agents and Koreans in Japan to make a superteam.
bump up CIS to 2, maybe even EU to 3, or still keep it EMEA with 4-5 slots
Not a weird take, but yeah there are other untested teams as well.
fraca - "the reason they don't get views is because they don't matter at all"
also fraca - "viewership is a big factor" and "the POTENTIAL viewers and fanbase in NA will be greater than what can be achieved in korea"
k....? Ignoring the fact that you literally said viewership matters, you've been milking this 'more potential viewers and fans in NA than Korea' logic, but now you're saying the amount of views and therefore fanbase is irrelevant?
No I'm not going off potential. Literally every game of VCT Korea gets more views than T1 participating in tier three third party tourneys. The numbers alone practically prove that T1 would get more views if they participate in KR VCT. I can literally name a bunch of top tier players like Munchkin and many more who you could easily form a top tier team out of with their money and reputation which would AT LEAST be able to participate in VCT. Even if they don't win, you've already got more viewership than T1's current viewership rate.
T1 is not even going to be able to participate in tournaments where they can get more viewers. These small tier three third party tourneys are the best they can participate in. They couldn't get out of open qualifier 1, they lost even more miserably in open qualifier 2, they couldn't even qualify for the group stage and it wasn't even a close miss either. They had to perform well in the group stage they failed at making to THEN move on to the main event.
They are so far away from reaching the level where the views actually are.
I mean, those are the teams that are left lol. NA and EU teams are basically farmed for stats.
8 teams get out of groups, 4 Korean, 2 Chinese, 1 NA, 1 EU. NA and EU get swept 3-0 by dwk and geng right away and all the teams left are Eastern teams.
Xerxia 2-1 Optic
Zeta 2-1 NIP
Hopium overdose
Last worlds, HLE was eliminated by T1, T1 was eliminated right after by Damwon Kia. Out of 3 Korean teams on one side of the bracket, they all knocked each other out until one Korean team remained.
yeah but still...
DRX hopium
They will get 2 spots if Drx performs well and/or more orgs like T1 invest.
The flaw in your argument here is the word "potential".
AS OF NOW, moving to Korea will give them more viewers than the few hundred they have right now, more fans, more sponsorship because of the aforementioned reasons, and they are tenfold more likely to qualify to international events which is where the big views are and where sponsors want their name to be seen, not small third party tier 3 tourneys.
The problem in your reasoning is that you're basing everything off POTENTIALs that I in no way see happening. I hope I'm wrong but I seriously doubt T1 will build an NA team that can go to LAN in the near or even distant future.
obviously I'm bias :) I'm half Korean
The org's interests are winning and making money. To do that it would be logical to relocate to Korea. They'll be far more likely to succeed there and will have more viewers since they have almost none rn (both will contribute greatly to more sponsorship deals) and will be saving money in terms of paying players less and not having to function overseas. At this point, I think it's almost impossible that T1 build a roster that will go to an international LAN one day.
Every concern you're mentioning of would be fixed/greatly improved if they moved to Korea.
W read. Quality as always.

edit: yall copy and pasted me :3
Seoldam, Lakia, Sylvan, Secret, Munchkin
medusa, eko, meteor, hsk, allow, suggest all good players as well
LEC is dogwater compared to Chinese and Korean teams, winning it isn't even anything special, yet Rogue haven't even won it once. A random group of Korean solo queuers could win the league with a little bit of practice.
"it's not like sponsors are going to be less attracted to them due to their trash valorant team"
uhh, news flash, they will 100% be less attracted to sponsor a team/org who is pumping huge money into a team which loses in tier 2-3 tourneys with only triple digit viewership
"they only have room to grow"
so does literally every other team, and so far, almost every other team seems to be growing faster than them
"most fans... are only supporting one of the teams in the org"
Another reason why T1 roster sucks and they should disband to Korea. They have no big name in their roster. Steel? Almost a forgotten name by now. Sorry if you like him but it's the truth.
Rogue has not even come close to being successful in league? Hasn't even won their regional European championship even ONCE and got absolutely crapped on by Damwon Kia at both Worlds getting eliminated in groups.
League history aside, T1 is still T1. The name and reputation of the org is still their, regardless of who's managing it and where the team is located.
give more mod roles to respected members of the community like Vortexy :) they'll whip the baiters into shape quickly
Did you even try to read mine regarding viewership? T1 isn't going to get any franchising or money in the bank with the team they have in NA currently.
T1 is like the most respected org in Korea with their successes in League. They have a huge reputation in Korea and tens of millions of avid league fans around the world. By wasting loads of money sponsoring mediocre and uncompetitive teams garnering negligible viewership, it doesn't really live up to their standards and history of success in esports.
T1 is getting only a few hundred viewers at a time playing for these Tier 2-3 third party tournaments and losing in the first or second round. Playing in Korea VCT would easily net them 10-15k viewers easily if not more on the Korean and main English Valorant channels (plus whatever number watching from other Korean streaming platforms).
I get what you're saying but isn't their like passion/reputation involved in this too? Also, if I were T1 management, idk if I would like paying off huge sums of money to uncompetitive teams trying to finance operations abroad. And it's not like T1 even get that many viewers as long as they keep losing to average teams in third party Tier 2-3 tourneys, they definitely get less viewers there than Korean VCT streams on the Kr and main Valorant channels combined. (also I don't know why people are downvoting you, you're speaking logically)
number of mods ~ 3 or 4
number of baiters ~ ∞
get the picture now?
too cold up here for my brain to function properly
well obviously the more teams there are, larger orgs, investment, etc. teams there will get better and the region will improve and thus warrant for more slots (instead of giving brazil basically 3 guaranteed spots in champions)
dang I just made a similar post
No cap but T1 should disband and rebuild in Korea where their org is based in. They are a relatively large and respected org and they can attract back a lot of top Korean players playing in Japan with their money and reputation. There are so many Korean players playing in Japan who I think are individually more skilled than many of those playing in their home region, putting them in an all-Korean team with easier teamwork/coordination without language barriers could easily make new top teams.
True but that doesn't mean all the other regions are equally crap. For example, Kr has already proven they are internationally competitive with a 3rd place finish by Nuturn, Drx oconvincingly beating top teams like Acend, and being statistically the 2nd best team in Berlin after being the only team to take maps off Gambit in playoff who were far and away the best team there, just unfortunate they met them in their first match of playoffs. On the contrary, regions like Brazil have been pretty miserable so far (with due respect).
You effectively just repeated what you said earlier. You're still saying they can't be considered as an actual contender unless they play teams like Loud. But what have Loud done to be worthy of title contention by being in top 8? Win in the statistically worst region without proving themselves to already established teams like Drx? Should be the other way around, not Drx desperately needing to prove themselves worthy by beating Loud who haven't achieved anything so far.
