Whatt?? Is this for real?
No need for organizer to be this harsh, jesus...

So we now can't see a banger matchup, nice

I'm pretty sure they would be ready (HOPIUM)

Kinda like Acend during Masters 3. They were SUPER nervous there and choked were important matches came (quarterf. vs 100T). They then keeped their composture during Champions and won the whole thing.

I think M3C would be ready for everything now, clear favoutires for Masters 1 now.

If they will be are able to participate lol

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah team synergy is insane. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to split by any means

M3C stomping teams left and right again.
They will be clear favourites for Masters 1 if they keep the pace like this on patch 4.04

posted about 2 years ago

yeah Liquid is not in a good place rn but they still have the potential to overcome the situation, that's why I still rate them. Also I wanted to make the tiers a bit compacted for playoffs, I think every single team there have a chance to qualify if they prepare well for the remainder of the tournament (also, playoffs will be played on patch 4.04 so many things could change)

in my opinion

S: Gambit, Fnatic
A+: FPX, G2, TL, GUILD

Acend already out, so doesn't matter. Other team close to the ones above might be NAVI but they have to win against FPX if they want to qualify.

Loud, VK, NiP, Furia in BR
KRÜ, Leviatán in LATAM

Let's not overreact yet. Let's remember this was WGS map pick. Let's see how it ends first.

Anyway, more competition is good news for Korea. Vision Strikers needed competition long ago and now they are having it.

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah, I found it weird because it was H2H on EMEA and NA but might be different in Korea after all

C9 was close to choking if it was just for first 2 maps
Great series by Knights tho!

NOM fell a bit down after new patch probably

Wait, why did ONS get seed 2? Didn't they finish 1st?

Should be DRX vs Damwon

According to the Official EMEA VCT 2022 Rules (page 7)

Tiebreakers
In the event that two or more Teams are tied in the standings at the conclusion of the Regular Season, the tie will be broken by the following criteria:
Head-to-head match score
Head-to-head map differential
Head-to-head round differential
Overall map differential
Overall round differential

If after this the Teams are still tied, a new match will be played between the tied teams. Higher seeding will be determined by a coin toss.

Tiebreakers will not be played if their outcome will not have any competitive implications. i.e. Advancing to the VCT playoffs or promotion tournament. Prize money for teams tied in this scenario will be combined and split equally between both teams.

posted about 2 years ago

Except Round differential isn't the tiebreaker. Check VCT rulebook.

It is the same for 2 team ties or more. It is still head to head score between every tied team. If they are still tied, then map differential between the tied teams. If not, dound differential between tied teams.

Kinda 3 unbalanced maps.
Fnatic was the better team overall

posted about 2 years ago

I think M3C is still the best EMEA team. Fnatic probably 2nd.

Just one series doesn't prove anything. It is true that they lost. But in my opinion it was a choke, they should've won that match easily. FPX is not a bad team, but definitely not top 2.

In fact, they changed some roles since that match against FPX and they completely rolled NAVI.

M3C synergy is insane and they are adapting quickly. They still have the highest potential of EMEA

No Astra and finally we are seeing some attack-sided maps

posted about 2 years ago

They didn't. So Guild deserved to qualify.

I know what you mean. Everything you said could be summarized under the term "confidence" or "trust".

Every time you make some dark humor joke, you take some risks. If your friend trust you, he won't get offended. So the risk you took was minimal. He, most likely, won't get offended.

Now, apply the same experiment but, this time, with a person you are slightly not that familiar with. Now, if you say some dark humor joke, the risk of him getting offended is higher. So, maybe, it wasn't the best idea.

The same applies if you add multiple people, seeing you through your livestream into the equation, many people would get offended as well, because they don't hold a trust-relationship with the one making the joke. And this is exactly what happened.

I don't think JasonR is NECESSARILY a racist, we don't really know his intentions. But definitely, he took a really high risk, because he doesn't have confidence with every person watching him.

In my opinion, it's more of a lack of a particular social skill more than anything. We shouldn't conclude that he is a racist person.

Anyway, it's ok that you showed your way of thinking, never let yourself be overwhelmed by a number of downvotes or upvotes, as long as you are confidently expressing your opinion and be open-minded enough to admit you might be wrong, like every person should.

uncomfortable take: drop asuna, not because he is bad, but because he is the main duelist and can't play jett confidently. if you don't drop asuna, his role overlaps with bangs role (second duelist/flash player). there is your problem, you can't drop and shouldn't drop hiko/ethan/jcstani, you need a sova main, a smokes main and an anchor main.

because vlr.gg ranking takes too much into consideration past achievements over recent achievements.
I think they should bring down a bit the weight of past achievements for the ranking to be a bit more realistic (or weight higher recent achievements from more important/oficial tournaments)

posted about 2 years ago

it's funny how on the second map, they finally put asuna on jett, and you know the rest. asuna on jet has never been the answer, they should've had someone capable of playing jett properly in the team

posted about 2 years ago

you are reading it wrong, team isn't playing jett on maps they should've played jett
you are biased towards asuna, now I don't know if it's his fault the fact that 100T aren't playing Jett but he is definitely not "carrying" the team, he is the duelist main and he gets more frags, but that's it. Teams weakness definitely isn't the absence of individual talent, but the incapacity to bring a solid composition to some maps, and that's a problem coming from the whole synergies of the squad, not individual players.

if vitality doesn't win here 2-0, they are out

Cypher not enough against Jett attacking on Ascent. janny won so many rounds alone for Rebels during their attack
let's see how rebels perform during defense and if they are able to counter h1ber

holy fuck huge throw by koi tbh, lynxi insane

posted about 2 years ago

bruh why so mad?

teams aren't "investors", the league was invested by LVP, and they are INVITED reliable teams from another big league in Spain (LoL).

Rebels wasn't part of it, but still got invited for their achievements during VCT qualifiers. I'm also rooting for them because I think they are the best team of the league, anyway.

It's still a shit format, I agree, just 1 open spot is a shitty strategy, but still, you have to understand it also has good things as well: you assure the participating teams really invest into building a good team for the future. That decision was not arbitrary, it was done in a search for stability for the future.

Even a 1-1 draw might benefit beGenius? They would end with more wins than Vitality

I don't know what punctuation system applies here tbh. Or what's the tiebreaker.
