JP/KR/CN (East Asia) deserve the same amount of slots as APAC imo, which would be 6 and 6. Both regions have two teams in the top four Asian teams (PRX > DRX > NTH > XIA) and Japan makes up majority of the viewership by far. If they get more than half you can be angry, but it's reasonable to split them half and half.

unknown, but presumably APAC since they've been dropping all of their NA players

posted about 3 years ago

Chill, those are the orgs that we know of, I'm sure quite a few APAC orgs also made the cut

posted about 3 years ago

Orgs in the 3rd phase:
Crazy Raccoon
DRX
Global Esports
Zeta Division
Gen.G*

Orgs declined franchising:
Nigma Galaxy
Velocity Gaming

Anyone have anything new that I can add to either lists?

Japan currently has the highest viewership actually:
JP: ~292k Peak, ~112k Average
NA: ~217k Peak, ~94k Average

APAC since it has the most room for growth in SEA as well as SA and CN if they're included. Plus JP got more viewers than NA or EMEA already.

Lmao, it’s deserved for a lot of them, I remember the fans saying Fnatic would beat OpTic before either had even qualified

posted about 3 years ago

My bad then, I just assumed they got the same pass as Loud did for performing subpar

posted about 3 years ago

DRX didn’t get unlucky, they lost fair and square. I just don’t think it’s fair for everyone to say they were overhyped when they did what was expected.

posted about 3 years ago

I wasn't on the site when Fnatic lost so I was wondering what do people think about them? Cause I just realized that they beat the same exact teams that DRX did (FPX with a sub and LEV), yet the narrative is that DRX sucked.

Another question, why does everyone call DRX overhyped when this time they literally reached where most people placed them, which is 5-6th?

https://www.vlr.gg/112489/rank-the-copenhagen-teams
https://www.vlr.gg/111822/master-2-power-rankign

Fnatic were the ones hyped up to win the entire tournament with ease and be undefeatable while Loud was placed in almost everyone's top 4, but they aren't overhyped?

PS: Sorry this sounds like I'm malding, but I'm genuinely wondering why the community views DRX so negatively when they placed exactly where everyone literally predicted them to :<

Too easy for JimJam, the other team should just pack it up

Good luck friend, teach them how to play Kayo 👍

EMEA has VRLs and SEA teams pay their players nothing

*NA franchising, they’ll still make the APAC league

posted about 3 years ago

Gen.G were confirmed to have made the third phase, so they’ll probably be in the APAC league

Excel, Vitality, and Case in the same group? wtf

Sad but expected, with orgs like Optic, FaZe, NRG, EG, C9, TSM, 100T, V1, TGrd, T1, and SEN along with CLG, Misfits, and G2 all trying to get a slot, you can’t expect smaller orgs to make the cut. I really like Drone though :(

Hey Netero! I've only started watching some anime with those being fma brotherhood, jjk, and mushoku tensei. Any recommendations? I've also seen some of Ranking of Kings with friends

posted about 3 years ago

On a side note, they made it to the 3rd phase of franchising, so they aren't doing to bad as an org

posted about 3 years ago

How do you feel about Gen.G probably moving to APAC?

posted about 3 years ago

They should’ve picked somewhere in the US for masters, I don’t know what they were thinking hosting the first crowd in Denmark

posted about 3 years ago

We have good players though? It's just a lot of them are scattered on JP teams:
Astell (CR), Suggest (DGW), HSK (DGW), iNTRO (ex-E36), 10X (ex-E36), Medusa (RC), JoXJo (NTH), Meteor (NTH), eKo (RIG), and Foxy9 (RIG)
KR pumps out plenty of talent and coaches, there just aren't any orgs to sign them outside of Japan. Again, I think 2 slots is plenty, but lack of talent won't be an issue if we get 3-4.

I think the best slot allocation with this news would be:
3 JP
2 KR
1 CN
4 SEA
1 OCE
1 SA

They aren’t confirmed to be out, that list wasn’t one hundred percent correct and was most likely missing other orgs

posted about 3 years ago

I’m not defending Riot giving 3-4 slots, but you’d have to imagine Riot would rather invest in organizations that are keeping their current best game alive over those that are funding the game they are currently trying to sue

posted about 3 years ago

Sayf also said in a clip that the list was incorrect because Guild are apparently still in the running, but you never know with organizations not informing their players properly

posted about 3 years ago

Sadly I think Riot are more likely to end up doing 4-4-4 with a 12 team format

posted about 3 years ago

DRX, Damwon, Gen.G, and I assume the 4th slot would be T1 if they don’t make the NA league.

Fingers crossed that Ban and Skuba can find a franchised team

Purely for yay, he’s my favorite player still in masters

Yeah, there was a point on this site where most threads were actually about the game or lighthearted baits. Now everything is just about regions, laugh threads, and people spewing political views just to win an argument. Kind of sad to see :/

TSM’s entire strategy was to just outaim their opponent, the lack of utility is why they got away with triple duelist comps

Gen.G have a chance to move to APAC, if they applied I believe that they will get a slot

posted about 3 years ago

That's what I thought too. Leviatan and Fusion are both small organizations that won't be able to afford a move to LA for 4 years. Maybe 9z or Infinity would buy out one of the rosters?

posted about 3 years ago

George Geddes leaked it, apparently 8-10 teams per league

I’m devastated, I can’t even imagine what the players are going through right now. Sad times.

OpTic are nice in my book, they show a lot of respect to teams like DRX and Loud

posted about 3 years ago

Loud had a massive respect thread made, I’d be surprised to see DRX or XSET get one of those
